YIPPEE, I LIKE MIKE(S)!

My other non-doodle comics have a lot of planning between the story, pacing, panel placement etc. I thought it would be fun to do something a little different on the side for fun!! This story's already written, so I can focus on the characters and expressions and interactions, which are my favorite parts! :D

Also because drawing more than one story is how I'm going to try and prevent burnout. :P

I ran into ToastedJeans' polymikes fics a couple weeks ago and they just totally sealed the deal for the fake Mikes to reside in my heart, lol.

Also I just really like Deltarune a lot in general.

Plus I get to spread my hooded poncho Battat propaganda. I like the idea of a little guy who overthinks everything and pulls the hood on when it's time to lock in or block out the rest of the world to maintain his tunnel vision. Because to me, hoods feel like a mini hug just for your head hehehe

Listen, I know a lot of people like to soak the Mikes in milk and throw them against the wall, (Battat in PARTICULAR from what I've seen, lol) which is all well and good!! But I'm personally more of a "tender loving care" kinda gal, especially when said characters have probably experienced like two genuine acts of kindness in their entire life.

I know in canon they like, barely know each other. But I love a good origin story!! At this point I'm collecting sappy loving characters like charms on a bracelet lmao.

And why shouldn't the Mikes find home and comfort in each other?

That's why I love this story so much. Thanks again for the permission to draw comics about your fics, Toast!! Ya do some great work!! <3

Dear fellow trans girls...

Did anyone else completely underestimate just how much your body's hitbox changes during transition?

Because I swear nobody warned me that boobs and hips have their own gravitational field.

I've hip-checked more chairs and tables than I can count. I've accidentally yoinked tablecloths off tables just by walking or getting past them. I've smacked my boobs into boxes while carrying them because my brain still thinks my chest is flat. And every time I go in for a hug, my boobs are just like, "Sorry, this is the closest we're getting."

Transition has been amazing, but my muscle memory is still running on the pre-HRT patch while my body is on version 2.0 with expanded collision boxes.

If you're new to the setting I'll always highly recommend From Pawn to Princess. If you liked Wellness Check you'll almost certainly love Good Sensory. No Gods No Masters and its sequels are evergreen for a reason. My archive is full of absolutely peak works, by the by. 😇
