Iris allowed herself to relax for the very first time since she left Diana’s office after the shocking news earlier that week. It was difficult to live with Barry and didn’t tell him about the baby – now babies. It wasn’t that she thought he wouldn’t be happy, because he would and she had no doubt. They had been married for only a couple of months, there hadn’t been much talk about children than just a few comments every now and then. It was real now, and Iris was terrified. She stayed quiet as she observed Diana moving around the kitchenette. Iris was truly happy, but it was too soon for her to be excited when she was still digesting the fact they were having twins. Without her dad around to see his grandchildren, Iris didn’t know how they were supposed to do this. “Thank you,” she said as she reached for the glass. “I’m scared.” Honesty had always been the best policy. “I don’t know if excited is the right word right.” But she appreciated the positive thoughts. “I hope so. I wish one day to be as wonderful as my dad is.”
Diana tends to the boiling pot for a moment, offering a nod of her head at Iris’ words. “You will. And I know for a fact that your father is going to be so proud of the both of you. These babies are nothing but the culmination of the love you two share. You might be scared now but once they’re here... it will be magical.” Diana offers out a supportive hand to her friend. “And of course if you need anything, I can assure you have a full support system. Between Babs and I alone I’m sure you’ll be the most spoiled mommy-to-be that Metropolis has ever seen.” A genuine smile graces her features before the Amazon is turning once again to finish off the dish, spooning the hot mac and cheese into a bowl for her friend. Setting up a utensil beside the bowl, Diana finally joins Iris at the small table. “I hope that’s alright. The babies have good taste.”

IF ANYTHING THE BOY was glad there was other people around that knew how important dessert was. Surely Damian knew how important a balanced diet was, but he had a sweet tooth what could he say? There was times that he wanted to indulge a little, especially when he was forced to do something he didn’t like. It usually comes out as a demand more than him asking, but he stands near Diana waiting patiently. His hands shoved in his pockets. “How interesting, cookie dough is the best choice out of those three options. I’ll have that one.” Damian says as he tilts his head while looking up at the woman.
Diana was beyond grateful for the relationships she had with each of the young adults in her life. While she enjoyed her time working with the League, when it came to Cassie or Donna, and at times the Batfamily, Diana found herself always willing to lend a helping hand where it’s needed. She saw nothing but potential in every single one of them, and to be alive during a time where they are growing as people and as heroes was something she’d always hold near and dear to her heart. When Damian agrees on an ice cream flavor, there’s a wide grin spreading across her features. “Great minds think alike, hm?” She shoots the youngest Wayne a glance before filling up the two bowls, sliding one over to him before putting the rest of the tubs away. “This is a lot better than being out there, I’ll tell you. We’ve only been here for an hour and I think I’ve had my hand tugged around for most of it.” Dark hues glance down to the ring that decorated her finger, a sligh shrug rolling off of her shoulders at the thought. She’d pick eating ice cream with Damian over a gala any day.

“I suggest you start talking about where that fear gas came from otherwise I’ll start to sing right into your ear and when I sing, I go all Mariah Carey times 1000.” Dinah warned.
Diana watched as the other attempts to work the information out of their lead. Everything in regards to the attack at the Valentine’s Day gala was coming up with little to no information and to say it was frustrating would be a grave understatement. Her gaze breaks that of Dinah’s before eyes fall to the ground, a sigh leaving parted lips. “Di, I don’t think they know anything.” It wasn’t like Diana to give up, however the feeling of hopelessness gnawed at the back of her mind. “I think we should move on.”
wcndrgrl:
a smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she sat in the chair opposite of diana. cassie knew she’d always welcome her, yet there was something comforting in the assuring nature the other woman held without effort. her hands grabbed hold of an oversized burger, pulling back the wrapping as a look of amusement crossed her expression. ‘ but is it really irresponsible to spend any amount of quarters when you’re apparently married to one of the richest people on the planet? ’ she teased, knowing well that it was more complicated than that but the facade the two put on made for an easy target to direct some of her humor, and effectively distract from any other issues. ‘ nothing too eventful on my end, other than that i’m apparently trending on twitter. ’ her shoulders fell in a shrug, moving the burger to her lips and delving into a bite that would seem unreasonable for someone her size.
there’s a playful eye roll from diana as she turns away from the young girl for a moment, pulling two water bottles from the bottom draw of her desk. opening her own, she’s taking a sip before her frame falls lax against the back of her chair. “money isn’t the issue, i just feel like a bother asking someone to get food, or stepping out to get some. the office is already in a frenzy today, i do not want to be yet another reason people will be huffing and puffing about.” the thought of calling up bruce to join her at her office for a meal hadn’t crossed her mind until now, most likely due to her recurring worry that she’ll be a bother. “so i couldn’t be happier to see you. both for my sanity and the fact that i was just about to eat my weight in cinnamon sugar donuts.” she continues to eat some of the fries before mirroring the others movements, getting herself a burger and peeling back the foil. “trending? that’s a good thing, isn’t it?” there’s a quirk of her brow as she’s scooting her desk chair closer.
ofrobin:
THERE’S A SHORT LIST of people that Damian trusts to see a vulnerable side to him, and Diana was on it. How could you not? However he was too proud to admit it unless you caught him in the right mood. There’s a smirk growing onto his face. “I don’t think so, that’s a serious offense if you were.” He says tilting his head a bit, and starts walking toward the kitchen. This would be far more exciting than anything else going on tonight. “What kind of ice cream do they have? Do you know?”
Diana follows closely behind the other, heading over to the large fridge once they’d made it back to the kitchen. “Of course I know. Who do you think put together the dessert menu?” She shoots him a smile before tugging open the freezer, taking out a few tubs of the ice cream she made sure to order when Bruce was putting everything together. She then turns to one of the cupboards to retrieve a set of spoons and bowls. “There’s double fudge brownie, rocky road, and my personal favorite, cookie dough.” The Amazon begins to scoop some out for herself before motioning toward the tubs. “Which are you in the mood for?”
You overestimate yourself.
Do you like him?” “I don’t want to.” “But you do?” “I do.
