“Back in Ordon we have a few different types but my favorite has to be the one this yeti made once. His name’s Yeto I met up on Snowpeak it had cheese and fish in it too.”
“Wait, a yeti? I thought those were just legends! Huh, guess y’learn a lot out there... Boy, that does sound good, though. Never thought a yeti’d be a good chef!”
"Have you ever had pumpkin soup?"
“I reckon I have, though it wasn’t pumpkin soup exclusively, y’know. Ma just kinda threw whatever we had into a pot. Lotta pumpkins went out that way. Every batch tasted different, though, so it never got boring!”

Freed from duty after a long day, Adrian's now hungry. "I'm heading out to get something to eat, if you want to join me? I was thinking about going to that place that just opened in town."
It’s nearing dinner, if Landon’s internal clock and rumbling stomach is anything to go by. His shift had ended some time ago, though the constant, haunting question of what should I eat has kept him from being very productive on an answer. And bless Adrian’s heart for helping him with that!
“Sounds good! On your tab, right?”
It’s a half tease, though if Adrian does want to pay, he won’t argue.
ok so i’m gonna make a lil schedule for myself/you guys so i don’t neglect any of my blogs as i tend to do
sundays are gonna be rest days for me; collecting drafts, maybe doing memes here and there, etc
monday-tuesday i will be on my post-botw ganondorf and my lynels
wednesday-thursday i will be on my hero!ganondorf
friday-saturday i’ll be on my hylian guard
i’ll queue my replies on all of the blogs to spread out my activity further, but i think this is gonna work best for me like this! i do have other blogs for ocs and such, but since those have incredibly low interaction rates, i’m not gonna bother with schedules. if you’re curious abt any of my ocs and possibly interacting with them, just hmu and i can give you the urls.

Landon knows that his appearance here is only for show. The princess and her advisers have their own heavily trained knights to protect them. The small squadron of soldiers is only to give the foreigners a taste of what their army could be like. Yet, he had been eager to take the opportunity. To see more of the world.
Dalmasca is tucked between two enormous empires, kingdoms, whatever. It had taken them a week alone just to sail to the opposite continent, then another week by foot, carriage, and train. The exotic technology baffles him just as much as the scenery, and the first time he sees a man riding a giant chicken, he thought someone had slipped something into his soup.
The political talks have been taking longer than expected, and his squadron has been dismissed to wander around Dalmasca for the day. It’s nearly overwhelming for Landon, so he decides to keep his armor and helmet on, sans the Hylian crest, so these odd people won’t catch him gawking. Humanoid creatures with the bodies of overgrown lizards, rodents with bat wings, ugly boar-like creatures hobbling along... He finds himself in a quieter part of the town after a bit of dazed wandering, taking a deep breath when he realizes he’s at the door of some kind of clinic. He doesn’t medical attention, but he does find himself stepping inside, if only to get out of the crowds for a moment.
Of course, the inhabitants aren’t any less odd. There’s one of the flying rodents getting stitches in his fuzzy leg, and beyond the odd vials and books and salves he sees a woman with rabbit ears.
At the very least, he should buy some basic first aid. He has a feeling he’ll walk into a wall and break his nose at this rate.
He carefully steps into the rabbit-woman’s view, offering a small wave. She’s tall, taller than him, but a polite smile still peeks from under his helm.
“Afternoon, ma’am. I was wondering if you, erm, sold first aid kits here? I’m not hurt, you see, but I and my peers can be a bit accident-prone.”

There was a bit of unease as the saw began to go back and forth upon the metal. Despite this Link attempted to keep as still as he could he certainly didn’t wish for the guard to accidentally cut him. It wouldn’t be the worse thing and he doubted it would be that deep should such a thing happen. He had likely had many worse things with the many encounters with various creatures and their various weapons. As it was the guard seemed to give up on the idea of working with the saw and as told he stayed put where he was.
In all reality the hero didn’t have too much hope the chain would come off it hadn’t so far, but the guard seemed quite determined. And he hadn’t really had anyone dare get close enough to attempt something. Well, other than Midna but she hadn’t really been trying to get the entire thing off, at the time, finding her to be quite dislikeable.
The awkwardness the guard displayed as he produced another tool, seeming as if he was trying to figure it out, did not make him feel comfortable about this idea. Even going as far as standing for a brief moment watching him intently. As the guard comes back to the position he had once been in Link attempts to not be overly concerned sitting back down as his paw is picked up once more. His focus much more intent and doing everything to remain as still as possible. The last thing he wants is for his actions to startle the guard while he’s using something he doesn’t seem familiar with. But he will give him some credit, after all, hadn’t he used items he didn’t know how to use before? The awkwardness of it at the beginning but often they were simple enough to understand.
Surprise was the first thing that etched upon the wolf his eyes widening even his mouth parting as the iron shackle comes off. His head bends toward the now free wrist and even that of the shackle that landed upon the floor. He looks up at the guard after a few moments in a grateful manner. Though, he isn’t sure how to express that exactly as a human he would have spoken his thanks. Of course, he knew most dogs he would lick humans in a show of gratitude or happiness, even excitement. He knew this well from the few dogs back in Ordon namely Malo and Talo’s pup, but there were those here Castle Town he had befriended who acted in a similar manner. So, in a dog-like manner he put a bit more pressure upon the man’s leg giving him a bit of leverage as he licked his cheek. The action did feel a bit odd as he was simply a human in wolf form even so he knew it would get his point across. He was grateful to the man.
He exhales with relief at the freedom he’s granted this wolf, pushing the clippers away and sitting back on his heels. He can’t help a soft laugh at the surprise on the beast’s face, and a quick inspection proves that while the chain did chafe away some fur, at least it’s not a deep wound.
Landon blinks as the dog stands on his leg to reach his cheek, a slobbered tongue almost hesitant against his skin.
“I’m willin’ to bet you ain’t a wild wolf!”
He laughs again, cupping the beast’s giant head between his hands. He places a kiss between those eyes before ruffling his hair, rubbing to scratch at those ears with an almost childish grin on his face. There are stray dogs around Castle Town that love affection, but he’s never been out of sight from his peers to actually shower them with the affection he wants to.
“Hey, you wanna get some lunch? The deli’s open by now, I’m sure!”
He has enough rupees to splurge on a hamsteak for this guy. He deserves it, really. Knowing to come to Castle Town to get help... What a smart wolf! And if he can prove this wolf to be friendly, maybe he could even have him as a partner!
He stands up, dusting himself off before he peeks through the open gaps between the slatted windows. His peers don’t really seem to care about their missing fellow, which just makes it easier to slip out to get him some food.
“Can you stay here? I’ll bring you some food and water!”
hyruliana:
Nails scratch lightly against the white, limestone fountain, her fingers tracing the ledge as she walks around the perimeter. It’s completely dry, the law few puddles of Zora water pooling to the centre around the raised crest. It’s not nearly enough to supply the town, Hylia notes. Though she can’t quite see what’s blocking it. The dusk befallen Hyrule’s lake keeps her purifying gaze out.
She turns her gaze up to the castle, eyes sharp and cold. The magic surrounding it… it’s ancient. Something more ancient than the Twili and what little history their tomes remember of their people. Their old king, the true king, though maybe not the right king, sits on that throne. He’s smirking at her even now, she can feel it. The familiar buzzing of the Triforce’s presence rings in her ears.
❝ No… that’s quite alright, ❞ Hylia lifts her eyes away from the faint, golden glow of the castle to smile, maybe slightly distractedly, towards to stiff-shouldered soldier. ❝ You know the situation in the castle, yes ?? Or maybe not… It feels as though not many of you do… ❞
The fountain in the center of town had been something he had watched to pass the time. The gurgling of the water and the soft splashes against the stone was relaxing, though as of late, the thing has dried up. No builders could find the source, though a stopped fountain was hardly the biggest of their worries.
He pauses in his need to escort this woman back home when she asks him of the castle. Perhaps she’s a traveler, then... a refugee, like so many others seem to be. But the horrid truth of the matter is that Castle Town is no safer than any other town...
“I’m not certain what’s going on in there, ma’am. That... barrier thing won’t let anyone in. I worry about the princess, stuck in there... but maybe it’s her handiwork. Protection, I guess.”
Though if it was the craftiwork of their beloved princess, surely she would have extended the shield over her people... right? It’s dangerous to think that way, though. To lose faith in their leader now is as good as suicide.
milkmxid:
For a bustling city, Castle Town manages to remain a relatively safe place. As the crown jewel of Hyrule it’s generally clean and safe! Not that Malon has a basis for comparison beyond what she knows. Eyebrows lift and the redhead fights back the urge to bounce once on her heels. Instead she beams up at the guard.
“Oh you would?” Malon questions in a cheerful manner. The milkmaid claps her hands together, “Thank you, thank you so much.” She’d not expect anything else from a guard. They’re stoic and honorable and while she hasn’t spoken to many beyond the few that man the gate of the fair city. “I really ‘preciate it. Reckon nobody’ll have sticky fingers ‘round me if you’re ‘round.”
She supposes she should either hire a delivery boy or ask if Link will join her next time.
“It’s the least I could do, ma’am! It’s my duty t’ make sure citizens are happy and safe!”
He wonders if he should find a fellow guard to cover his post, though he doubts it will be any trouble. He’s just escorting her for a few deliveries; it shouldn’t take that long! He doesn’t care for any reward from her. Maybe they’ll spot the sticky fingers that stole from her last time and he could bring them to justice. Stealing milk and eggs! The nerve of it...
He shifts his halberd to the sheath on his back, freeing his hands. He offers one to her, an offer to carry her load.
“Would you like me to help you carry some, ma’am?”

Castle Town was as large and busy as she remembered when she first came here, though, at the time her mind had been a muddled mess along with trying to get someone to help Ralis. Now she could take in just everything that was Castle Town how large and bustling it was. She was here for only reason and that was to see Telma someone who often kept in contact with her wanting to make sure long after everything that had happen she was okay.
It was while she was walking through the town trying to recall which street to take and become more than a little lost that one of the guards caught her attention. Or maybe it was more because she might’ve caught his attention either way her focus was on him now. They all wore similar attire, yet, there was something a bit familiar about this one. She clearly remembered the handful who had been in Telma’s bar readily to help at least in words but once it had been revealed of the dangers they had all been quick to run off. Even when one had remained once he had realized his comrades had all but deserted him had been quick to follow after. Perhaps, that is where she had remembered seeing him. “Weren’t you one of the soldiers in Telma’s Bar a couple months back?”
Things are finally returning to normal. Their princess was once again visiting them, businesses were back on their feet, and there were no wild wolves running through town. Though maybe they’ve relaxed too much; Landon had caught one of his peers sleeping at their post the other day!
He’s thinking about what’s for dinner, maybe if he’ll go to Telma’s tonight, when a young woman stops before him. He recognizes her immediately, and at her question (it almost sounds like an accusation) he knows she recognizes him as well. How he had lingered after his peers had fled, and quickly turned tail after them. He had tried to insist it upon them that they should help, but they had refused... and such a feat couldn’t be done with just him. He couldn’t protect a caravan through two fields of monsters!
“Y-yes, ma’am. You look much better! Health-wise, I mean! Can I be of any assistance to you today?”
honourguided:
Weary from travel, he practically drags himself toward his fellow soldier. Muscles ache from the effort he’s put into his latest venture beyond the guarded walls. A simple task bestowed to him ; deliver a parcel to Hateno village. An errand that’s mostly effortless aside from the Moblin he’d encountered on the way there, & the few Bokoblin he found harassing a traveler along the way back. Perching adjacent to the older male, Adrian reaches over to give the dog a few affectionate scratches. Animals always helped to lighten his mood. Gifting the animal with a small smile, silver hues then shift toward Donny. ❛ It was fine. A few burdens along the way, nothing overly complicated though. A woman from the village insisted on giving me apples for the trip back—-want one ? ❜
He can see the exhaustion clear as day as Adrian comes to rest beside him, the dog squirming in her own pampered heaven, tail beating against Landon’s leg. He offers a soft laugh at her, patting her chest before his arms lean on his knees.
He’s almost jealous of Adrian being sent out for errands so often, though if that means he gets to stay around here without much trouble, he’s alright with it. He’s certainly not jealous of how tired the younger always seems.
“Sure, I’ll have one if you’re sharing!”
He offers a grin, the dog rolling back up to stand as she shakes out her shaggy hair. She trots to rest in a patch of grass nearby, panting lightly as she seeks shelter in the shade.
“So, was this lady cute?”
