Sometimes, it makes me happy to remember that Vlad Tepes (aka Dracula) had a younger brother called Radu the Handsome, who was the boyfriend of Sultan Mehmet of Turkey.
Their relationship didn’t start as smoothly as Mehmet hoped. He was too forward, and Radu shanked him in the leg, bolted and hid up a tree until he knew it was safe to come down. Still, seems to have improved after that.
Thinking about establishing a Friday weekly update – let me know what you think!
Please enjoy these art history memes I found taped up at my university! I wish I knew who did these, I think I’m in love
– “I was a holy thing to them”. Jane Morris (née Burden), Pre-Raphaelite muse and model.
look normally the Pre-Raphaelites aren’t really my thing, but I did have a dream two weeks ago in which Jane Morris was a lesbian in a relationship with a fairy and they had a romantic date in a haunted house at dawn while a unicorn frolicked in the garden amidst the morning mists
are we allowed to ask your name? and what’s the pun 0: !!!
Sure! My name is Genevieve, my nickname starts with a v and the first syllable of my last name sounds like q. The really terrible pun is that gvq when pronounced the French way sounds like “j’ai vécu,” which means “I lived!”
does gvq stand for anything?
Sort of! It’s based off of my name, plus it’s a really shitty pun in French, which… how could I resist.
I love your comics so much! I am really into history myself so I love how you portray the Renaissance artists (especially with Michelangelo as human disaster). Not only is it informative and excellent art, but it's so entertaining too! This actually gave me the will to continue with an assignment that I was uninterested in earlier. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and creativity!
Hi! Thank you so much, that’s so nice! I got really into the Renaissance last year and I’m just trying to spread the love, I think it’s a shame that art history isn’t always accessible to the general public – it’s so fascinating! And the artists really have interesting personalities (especially Michelangelo, who is my not-so-secret favorite). Good luck with your assignment!
