βWhiskey it is.β She pours the liquor into two shot glasses and slide one of them over to Caoimhe. Nadia raises hers to silently say bottomβs up before downing the shot. It feels warm down her throat and stings her nose. But itβs a good pain.Β βHow many times have you done this?Β β
βChallenges are my thing.β Caoimhe teased, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips.Β βWell, I reckon that most of you are big enough to look after yourselves. Surely the entirety of HQ wonβt burn down if I take one night to myself β then again, half of you probably canβt be trusted with that much responsibility.β She shook her head, a light laugh escaping her lips.Β βSure you can handle the challenge?β

βEveryone has their shining moment eventually.β The once fake smile begins to widen as some sort of emotion flickers in Nadiaβs eyes.Β βProblems? No. I but I do always like to try the new toys. Itβs been too long since we were issued new gears. You must be working on something good.β

βA few hours,β Β Nadia shrugs and drinks the remaining dregs of her coffee. She sets the mug in the sink and washes it wordlessly.Β βI was moved from the Estate to here.β Β Blue eyes observe her fellow Knight.Β βI wonder why.β
Charlie lazily made her way to the communal kitchen to make breakfast, just having woken up. It was a late day for her, an unusual occurrence. Usually she was up early, training, one of the perks on living in the headquarters was that she had access to everything, all the time.Β βOuch, dammit,β she mumbled to herself, as she burned her fingertips. She moved to near the sink when she caught movement,Β βShit, god, what the hell?β Charlie sputtered as she turned on her heel, facing the person who had entered,Β βJeez, creeping much? When did you even walk in?β
Β Β Β Β Β βNot long enough for me to say your slipping.β Β Nadia smiles, though there is no genuine kindness in her expression. Sheβs nursing her own cup of coffee that has since grown cold.Β βThough pay more attention to your surroundings never hurts.β
