Angelina Jolie for ‘DuJour’, 2014
I N P E R S O N || daniel + gwen
His jaw hung low about a inch, she walked with stride and confidence and that’s what got him every time. Closing the door behind her Daniel turned around on his heel to face her fully. He would like to say this was common, however he was use to her showing up whenever she pleased. The two had this weird dynamic. Though his sister would just agree that was just with every women he ever knew. Folding one arm over the other he shot her a questionable look. “Not at all, make yourself at home.” His tone dripped in sarcasm. He could sense there was something else in the mist here, years of studying people had that tell all. Instead he decide not to venture on to the subject. “You uh, want something to drink?”
If Daniel had a problem with her impromptu visit, Gwen didn't expect him to voice it out lout. Gwen was notoriously stubborn and they both knew she wasn't going to go anywhere even if he voiced his dissatisfaction with the situation. With the coast clear from what she could see, Gwen looked over her shoulder at Daniel. "Well if you insist." The woman smirked in return, turning on her boot clad feet and walking over the couch before plopping down upon the plush piece of furniture. Setting her feet on the coffee table, she nodded her head. "Sure, why not. You have any food too?" Already she was pushing her welcome, but that was just how she was with Daniel.

In Person | Gwen + Conrad
Conrad stared blankly at Gwen for a moment. It was as if she was trying to get under his skin enough for him to lunge at her. He swallowed thickly, scoffing and shaking his head as she spoke. “You know, not a lot of guy in here would turn that down… But I guess I’ve always been a rebel, because Brooks, I wouldn’t fuck you with a ten foot pole so I’m sure as shit not gonna fuck you with mine. You’re dirty though and through, and I’m sure you get sick joy by thinking about riding me, but I would never give you the satisfaction. If I put my hands around your throat, it’s gonna be so that I can watch the life drain from that smart ass , conniving little mouth of yours. So why don’t you save yourself whatever time you’re wasting playing your little games, and piss off before you get what you deserve.”
"What I deserve? You gonna punish me for being a bad little girl? Sounds kinky." He was so predictable. For a brief second, Gwen thought Conrad would give into her proposition but there it was--that was the Conrad that she knew. "Ooh, I like it when you talk dirty to me." She smirked, obviously not phased by him turning her down. Odd enough, she was probably getting off this on more than if they actually did end up fucking. "Well, the offer is always on the table if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me." Pulling out her wallet, she put a twenty on the table. "This has been fun, we should do this again sometime." Giving him a wink, she finally left the man alone, grabbing her leather jacket off of the abandoned chair she had been on before sauntering out of the bar.

Conrad kept looking away and grimacing, wishing she would leave him and his beer in peace but knowing he’s get nowhere with that wish. He’d have to wait it out,but moving from table to table was’t going to draw any less attention to the pair, and that was ll he wanted: to melt into the background and drink his drink. While taking the last few sips of the luke warm beer, Gwen’s words had him coughing it back up into the mug, turning back to look at her with shock in his eyes.”Are you fucking kidding me…?”
The look that came across Conrad's face at her not so subtle proposition: priceless. Not getting shot down right away like she thought she would, Gwen tested the waters to see just how much she could get away with. "I don't joke about fucking, Conrad." The woman quipped, turning around as she rested her forearms on the table in front of her, bending over slightly. "Since I know you won't give me what I originally came here for, how about you give me the next best thing?" Smirking some, Gwen's tongue ran along her plush lower lips before she continued. "Because I know of a few ways you can shut me up like you always wanted to. If you sit here and tell me you've never thought about putting your hand around my throat, you're a fucking liar. So here's your chance and this way, we both get what we want out of it."

Heels clicked behind his every step as he made his way to an empty table, cursing under his breath as he sat and turned, sighing as he saw Gwen behind him. He’s have to leave just to get rid of her,but even if it exercised his patients,he wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction of winning. “You’re an evil, heartless, soulless bitch who as long as she’s young enough to blow her way out of trouble, will never get caught. But you’ll have your day too, don’t think you wont. He bit back, drinking deep of his beer before turning his chair away from her. “And I would never be your partner. Even if I was stupid enough to trust you to not throw me under the bus in one of your schemes, I have morals. If that’s all you wanted then run along and play now. ” he hissed, shooing her away.
Gwen liked to think of herself as untouchable--probably because she was. Which is probably why she decided to mess with Tommy and did half the shit she did, because she knew she could get away with it. "I don't get on my knees for anyone, hun, it's the other way around. It won't, but you fall asleep and blow your candles out wishing for it to happen if that gives you a reason to wake up in the morning." She shrugged before letting out a short, fake laugh. "Wait..you think I meant working with you? Oh please, your whole 'white knight' and 'good cop' act drives me up the fucking wall." Deciding not to take a seat, because she had a feeling this wouldn't going on for much longer, she continued. "But you're more than welcome to fuck me up against a wall. You don't have to like me to fuck me, Conrad, and just maybe you'd be worthy of such an honor."
In Person | Gwen + Conrad
He scoffed at her comment, glaring as she played innocent, seemingly just to annoy him. He would probably hit her for it had she been a man, but seeing as how he couldn’t ,he only kept glaring. “Upset? That would imply that you had feelings somewhere in that icy, black soulless corpse or yours. And that,I just don’t believe, so why not cut the shit.”he hissed back. He had no reason to believe that she hadn’t sought him out for some personal gain. “And I didn’t lose my badge, I gave it up.Only crooked cops end up losing the badge some day. You’ll see…”With a sigh, he grabbed his drink and moved from the bar, hoping that she wouldn’t follow him.
The amused look on Gwen's face could not be wiped off. She was having way too much fun pissing off Conrad for the hell of it. Crossing one leg over the other and let out a dry chuckle at what he said. "You paint me out to be such a monster,Conrad." Tsking softly, Gwen shook her head. "Lose, gave up--either way, you don't have it anymore. I've been in the game for years, I'm not going anywhere, sweetheart." Gwen stated, dismissing his statement with a simple wave of her hand. Of course, she followed him when moved. "Oh c'mon, Conrad, don't be like that. I'm not as bad as you think that I am. You and I--we could be a good team, I think we'd have some fun together."

Something about the casual use of his name made him angry. He’d been under long enough to know who was crooked and who wasn’t, and in his eyes, they didn’t get more crooked than her. How she remained untouched all these years was beyond him, but he had no hard proof to pin on her, which made him even more uneasy around her. “You never go anywhere without a reason, Brooks.” he hissed back, adding emphasis on her last name. He was finally out and wanted no part of her games. “You know damn-fucking-well that this is my bar, so why don’t you cut the shit.”
"I'm upset at how low you think of me." Gwen stated, a fake pout forming across her full lips as if she was hurt by his accusations. Conrad was--or well used to be--one of the good guys when he used to work. She knew damn well that if he was still in the business, he'd come after her guns ablazing trying to take her down. "Is this how you treat all your customers? Not only did you lose the badge, but I see you lost your manners as well." Now she was just toying with him for the hell of it at this point.

"Hold on!" He yelled out loudly. Looking down at his wrist to check the time; he looked back at his watch in confusion. The abrupt banging on his door arose some concern, nothing good ever came knocking at 2 a.m. Reaching for his glock, Daniel approached his front door with caution, cracking it slightly to see who was behind it. "Shit—do you know what time it is right now?"
"Yes, I'm aware what time is it. You gonna keep asking stupid questions or are you gonna let me in?" Gwen stated, not even waiting for Daniel's response as she pushed the door open wider and waltzed into his place. Shrugging off the leather jacket she had on, she carelessly tossed it onto a chair she brushed past as she made her way over to the nearby window. "Mind if I stay here for the night?" The woman asked, peaking through the blinds of his window.

Nothing upset the woman more deeply than being unable to do her job. It was what she most prided herself over and dedicated so many years to. Saving lives, bringing justice it all came with a price but at the rate of how the streets where turning it was just boiling down to how fucked their department was. “If I don’t sell the chief something he’s going to chew my ass out. You see what’s going on out there? Fucking chaos.” She uttered. ”Things have been like this for ages but something has changed, it’s like things are starting to really boil down to the pot and now we’re picking up body pieces left and right. I know what I know when I tell you this, things are hitting down to the wire and the most we can do now is figure out when and where this things if really going to blow open.”
The frustration that written across Heather's fast almost made Gwen feel sympathetic for the other woman as a sense of nostalgia washed over her. Looking across at the female in front of her, she could bits and pieces of herself in Heather. Back when she first started working as a cop, she could remember being that young, driven, and determined to bring justice to the communities by taking down the bad guys. Boy, was she naive. "He's chewing everyone's ass out nowadays, don't get too worked up about it." Gwen shrugged off, setting the file back down onto her desk as she leaned back into her seat. "You'll figure out the who, what, when, and where and then what?" She asked, eyebrow arching slightly. "You'll be the one woman show to take down the baddies? Heather, you take one down, there's a handful more of them that'll pop up. If shit is really boiling down like you say it is, at this point it's survival of the fittest to see who will come out and on top and which ever one gets taken down and manages to get caught was the weakest link."

A humorous smile stretched across her mug, this whole playing coy act was becoming a dance between the two. “I only assumed that was your way of being funny. I always found your sense of humor to be a little twisted. Or is that just mines.” Sliding one leg over the other, she turned to face the woman beside her. “Mmh, yes, that nine to five.” It never amazed her that the only time she managed to run into the woman there was always some ulterior motive lingering in the air. “Limitations are necessary. Though I am sure you believe that doesn’t include you.”
"Twisted with a drop of sarcasm, wit, and dry humor." Gwen smirked as she leaned back in her seat some. Giving the bartender a grateful nod, she grabbed her shot glass and tilted the contents inside of it in one drink before returning back to the conversation. "Limitations, boundaries, and rules have never been my thing. You should know that by now, Helen. I tend to play by my own rules."

Strolling into the station with a more than unsatisfied look set upon her face the woman slid the case files onto the others desk. “Well—” She mumbled while taking a seat. “Another dead vic. No leads—no identification. It’s definitely mob related but what good are assumptions with no evidence?”
Glancing down at the paperwork that was set on her face, the older woman fought the urge to look away from them and Heather dismissively. "No leads, no evidence and no identification? Good luck trying to sell the chief on that one." Grabbing the file, she flipped through case casually as if she wasn't the one who made sure nothing could be traced back to the real culprits. "Is it me or this whole mob war getting bloodier but there's no proof to back it up?"
