Giovanni chuckled. “I imagine so. Lovely woman she is.” He had been out to gather a few things he needed for the house, deciding to take a break to visit a couple smaller shops he liked stopping into, maybe stopping to get a little taste of home for lunch so he wouldn’t have to cook.

“Oh you know it,” Gwen said with a laugh. All to happy someone else agreed. Morgan was a unique woman with her orange dreads and undercut. Gorgeous, but then all one had to do was look at Gwen’s own alternative style to understand.

Getting a proper look at the man who had spoken up, Gwen didn’t hide the once over she gave him nor the return of her smirk. Scruffy and cute. Yeah, a bit straightlaced looking, but nothing wrong with that. “And speaking of lovely, you’re not too bad yourself.”

Hali giggled. “You know I’d visit for more than just that. How else am I gonna see your beautiful face?” When Gwen threatened her new roommate she couldn’t help but laugh. After all she heard about the Anderson boys and specifically Jet, after seeing him, living with him for a week, he would eat her alive. “My knight in shinning armor you are. Do you honestly think it’s not going to be exposed to the sun? Unless a bikini bottom can cover it, it’s going to get exposed. Honestly, I have no idea I’m just dying for another one.Maybe adding more scales to my thigh if nothing else.” She shrugged, looking down before back up at Gwen.

“Ah, I love youre flattery,” Gwen said with a sigh. Honestly, though, she hadn’t been joking. Sure, she wasn’t idiot enough to think she could take out everyone she came across, but Gwen had been determined to never be a victim again, and that included MMA training that she still kept on top of.

“Hey, you never know. You could have changed your ways. It’s been ages after all. You could be a hermit now for all I know.” Gwen’s teasing grin was wide and toothy. “How about this. Some in soon and let me take some updated pics and I will see what I can come up with. Something cohesive so you don’t look like a patchwork quilt of ink. My girl’s gotta stay classy to show up all those soccer mom’s once the little gets to school and shit.”

“Oh! It’s okay. It happens literally all the time.” Doing his own sidestep to avoid the crash, Ashley looked up and offered and apologetic smile before biting gently on his lower lip. But it was true enough; people tended to barrel into him. But in those people’s defense, he did have a shrinking quality, combined with a noted lack of stature. Still, he tried to make up for it in bounce. So, nodding along with some eagerness, he quirked his brow. “A bone goddess sounds pretty hardcore,” he mused, gears turning in his brain, imaging ways he could bring such a character to life. In that moment, though, he seemed to notice the shop itself. “Oh, huh, I walk by here a lot and I never looked inside.”

“That, darling, I highly doubt. Cute guy like you.” Her smirk widened into a grin for a brief moment. Gwen was never one to let anyone talk down about themselves, especially when it was something as ridiculous as being invisible.

“A bone goddess is definitely hardcore. This is a great little shop. Handcrafters sell out of here. One of them is Morgan. She does bone jewelry, taxidermy, alternative decorations... There is a lot more to the shop though. Handmade soaps, lotions, household items, spiritual and mystical things if that’s your cup of tea. One hundred percent recommended.”

It was Gwen who first showed her the small consignment shop. There was something about the various items that were sold by crafters that reminded her of street markets during her travels.

“Tell me about it— if she wasn’t married I’d be all over her,” Mira cooed, only to look up and see that it was Gwen who she had bumped into. “Well, hello, stranger,” she smirked up at the tattoo artist.

Well, well, well... Mira Castillo. Gwen felt that twist of attraction and warning sirens, as always with her. A dangerous woman to be sure. At least for someone like Gwen.

“Hello yourself. As always, you’re one fine mama.” Gwen gave a grin and a slight eyebrow wiggle. Yeah, Mira was dangerous, and while Gwen wouldn’t let an attachment grow... she did so enjoy flirting with danger. “What have you been up to?”

Looking up from his phone and putting it back into the pocket of his jeans when Gwen sat down opposite him, Tyler couldn’t help but grin when he heard het comment. He had always loved that pretty direct, sarcastic manner, maybe because it was so different from the way he acted most of the time. But despite those differences they had immediately gotten along when he had met her at the tattoo studio about two years ago. “I actually just wanted to tell you about my new chinese character tattoo I wanted to get…”, he couldn’t help but joke even though he could definitely understand what she meant.

Gwen’s brows rose up as she got this joking ‘oh, you’re gonna take this road’ look on her face. “Oh, perfect. I’m going to put Báichī right in the middle of your forehead. It will be perfect.” She brought her hands up and made a little rectangle and looked through it at him. “Yeah, I can see it now.... ‘idiot’ inked right there...”

I just got a roommate to help me pay the bills I can’t be showing up with a whole new sleeve,” she laughed. “You know I’m always willing to be your canvas,” she laughed. Hali kissed her cheek as Gwen moved closer. “I’m glad the bigger you get you aren’t forgetting the little people. You gonna give me another mermaid tattoo anytime soon? I’ve been wearing shorts around outside now and it’s killing me.

“Excuses, excuses,” Gwen said with a laugh before placing a hand over her heart. “The pain I endure when the beautiful ladies come to me only when they want my gun.” Gwen then gave Hali a little squeeze-like hug.

“I’m glad you got a roommate now. Just be careful. And you let me know if they fuck up. I’ll come fuck them up and kick their ass to the curb. And I’m serious, that’s a Gwen Scarlett Promise.” Gwen nodded. She was too. Hali had a little one. If some asshole fucked with a single mom and her kids, well, Gwen had no problem laying them out.

“No deals, by the way. Not right now. But tell me what you’re thinking. If it’s going to be sun-exposed we’ll have to take that into consideration for your new mermaid lady.”

Hali was walking about on her day off, homework done, Sirena at her mom’s still, and Jet doing god knows what. Blue hair didn’t maintain itself and she needed more dye. Gasping lightly at the near run in, the woman put her hands on her hips. “I thought what we had was special! I guess I can’t compete with a bone goddess. I am but a lone mermaid.” She sighed dramatically. “Is this what I get for going a couple months without a tattoo? Damn girl.”

When Gwen saw it was Hali, it just made the almost situation better. Laughing, Gwen ran her hand through her hair and grinned. “Now, common, you know you’re my beautiful canvas.” Gwen lightly batted at the other woman’s shoulder, then draped an arm over her shoulders.

“How’s my favorite client been? I’ve been on the verge of calling you. You have to be feeling some major withdraws here,” she said, teasing Hali. Not that Gwen had room to speak with her own expanding art.

It was a cute little consignment shop with crafters of various and vastly interesting types. One of Gwen’s favorites was a woman who made bones into jewelry pieces. Like the bone earrings dangling from her ears now.

Gwen was backing out of the store saying her goodbyes, “Morgan, you gorgeous creature you, tell that husband of yours he best treat you like a Queen or I’m stealing you away!” Laughing she continued stepping out and turning at the same time. Damn near walking into someone. But she smoothly sidestepped and turned to avoid the collision with a little smirk on her lips and a wink to the person she’d nearly collided with.

“Forgive me, I was distracted by a bone goddess.”

“Ah, fuck, I thought the whole Chinese character tattoo for the sake of it looking interesting fad had passed,” Gwen bemoaned as she tossed her jacket in the booth before sliding in opposite from Tyler. “But then a barely legal white kid comes in and reminds me of it.”

Leaning back in the booth, she brought her arms up to rest on the back, showing off her stats as sh relaxed. “Please, reaffirm my faith in this fucked up people called humanity.”
