“When he died, all things swift and beautiful and bright would be buried with him.”
— Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles.
underrated andreil quotes #1
I never took you for a dreamer. You are so strange sometimes.
This quote is… my heart, damn. People don’t talk about this enough. Honestly, the entire scene in the exy store made me feel so happy (until they arrived at nicky’s parents’ house, at least).
Also, Andrew laughed. And judging by what Neil said before, he actually just laughed because he felt like it. Because Neil surprised him, or maybe because his interest in Andrew’s future and his person in general woke up something inside him. Whatever the reason, this quote is too beautiful and too special to not talk and think about it.
have a nice day, strange dreamers
We’re going down And you can see it, too We’re going down And you know that we’re doomed My dear, we’re slow dancing in a burning room
For Teagan @hestiad
neil and andrew call each other every night without fail while they’re long distance
most nights it ends with the two of them listening to each other breathe on the other end of the line because they’re too sleepy to keep talking or they’ve run out of things to say for now
one night they’ve been sitting in comfortable silence for about half an hour when neil starts to think that andrew has fallen asleep. he mumbles a slightly slurred but achingly sincere ‘miss you’ not expecting andrew to hear it or respond
the silence stretches and neil’s breathing has evened out before andrew finally does reply with a quiet ‘miss you too’
a slow smile curves on neil’s lips and as if andrew can hear it happening he tells him ‘don’t look at me like that’ and all neil can do is laugh a little breathlessly before they go back to the companionable silence from before
can’t wait for the final boss battle of duolingo when you fight the 50 foot owl armed with nothing but your wits, a sword, and your shaky grasp of verb conjugations
oh my god… duel lingo
Die Eule habe hat Hunger
True to form, I actually messed up the verb conjugation when I first put the words on this. XD
holy crap

Some of you haven’t read the entirety of the All For The Game series in a three day span and let it completely take over your life and it shows
Bee: Andrew, you have to stop pulling knives at people.
Andrew: This is my way of venting.
Bee: Well, it made a lot of people around campus very nervous.
Andrew: That's because they're a bunch of bitch ass white boys.
Bee: I hate to break this to you, Andrew, but you're also a bitch ass white boy.
A prompt for you Neil somehow gets in heavy pain meds and Andrew promises to watch him because Neil's still not comfortable with that stuff, but it backfires on Andrew because Neil just keeps talking about how good Andrew is and the foxes can't stop laughing
I got mushy with this one :>
Andrew carefully lowered Neil to lie down on the couch, putting a pillow behind his head as an afterthought.
Neil blinked up at him, eyes wide. “Andrew,” he breathed, “You’reso strong. Thank you.”
Andrew sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. This wasgoing to be a long night. “Do you want any water.”
“Yes, thank you. My throat hurts.”
Andrew got him a glass and poked a straw into the water. He satdown on the floor by the head of the couch and offered it up. Neil turned hishead with difficulty, poked himself in the cheek with the straw, and eventuallymanaged to sip some water.
“Thanks,” he mumbled around it, not quite able to get it outof his mouth. “You’re very kind.”
Andrew knew there was no point telling him to shut up – he wasdoped to the gills to cope with cracked ribs and had no control over himself. Heput the glass down on the floor and flicked open his phone. He concentrated onSnake II so he wouldn’t be too conscious of the way Neil was staring at him.
“Andrew,” Neil said in a tone of wonder a while later. “Andrew, you’re beautiful. Have I told you that? Your hair and your face and your handsand how you smoke.”
“Uh huh.”
Then, “I have a secret.”
“Shocking.”
“Sometimes I watch you doing weights at the gym. I’m sorry. ButI like how you look. It makes me happy.”
“Right.”
“You’ve saved my life like… twice? Maybe more than that.”
“I know.”
“I think you’re amazing how much you love your family evenif they don’t appreciate you.”
“Right.”
“You’re the best goalkeeper ever. Ever. Dermott’s good, but she loses focus sometimes. You’re great. You’reall… laser-y.”
“Okay.”
“I stole Kevin’s nutrition bars and hid them in one of yourempty ice cream thingies, and put it back in the freezer. They just taste sobad, Andrew. So bad.”
“Nice.”
“I think I want to grow old with you.”
Andrew’s head snapped up at that one. On the screen, hissnake ate its own tail and slithered into the game over screen. “You what?”
Neil blinked fuzzily at him. “What did I say?”
“Nothing. Maybe you should sleep, Neil. Talking so much won’tbe good for your ribs.”
“Oh, okay. If you think that’s best. I don’t feel verysleepy, though.”
“Close your eyes. The painkillers should count the sheep foryou.”
“Clever of them,” Neil yawned.
Blessed silence for all of two minutes.
Then, “Andrew?”
Andrew sighed. “What is it.”
“My hair is tickling my face.”
“Tragic.”
Neil made a discontented sound and tried lifting his clumsyarms to sort himself out, but hissed and froze when it pulled on his ribs.
“Stop, stop,” Andrew muttered. “You baby. Stay still.”
He stood up and perched on the armrest by Neil’s head. Slowly, gently, he tucked Neil’s wayward bangs out of his face and behind his ears.
“Oh,” Neil sighed, dazed eyes closing. “That’s really nice.”
Andrew watched his face smooth out as he drifted slowly intosleep. Andrew kept stroking his hair, trying not to think about the terrifyingidea of decades and decades of this ahead of them. Trying not to think of howit put an ache in his chest.
“Pipedream,” he whispered, and curled Neil’s hair betweenhis fingers.
you, a romantic: it all started when they bumped into each other in the hall, books and papers scattering across the floor, apologies hung in the air as they both bent to retrieve their fallen items, and as their hands brushed while reaching for the same piece of paper, sparks shot up their arms-
me, and intellectual: he was halfway through the locker room when he realized he wasn’t alone. there was someone waiting for him in the lounge between him and the front door. light glinted off a bright yellow racquet as the stranger took a swing, and Neil was going too fast to stop. wood slammed into his gut-

The earlier in the year you reblog this the funnier it is
do you ever sit there and think about
“you were supposed to be a side effect of the drugs.”
“i’m not a hallucination.”
“you’re a pipe dream.”
and then realize you’re fucked for the next 33089375237 years with emotions?
