Usually I just shut my trap about this but.. This & That wasn't it man. I am happy for everyone that likes it, and I'm glad Hyunjin sounds better than he has recently and seems more confident but man.. I'm sad. I wanted to like this album as I've been drifting away from skz and the fandom for a while now. Sometimes, more of the same doesn't equal good and for me, This & That is Karma but worse. By a mile. 'Run It' is probably a banger live but super mid on a headset or home stereo. That mix needed way more bass and a bigger soundscape to be interesting on normal speakers. 'This & That' is.. alright and I know they've had nonsense lyrics before but just, eeeh. No. The vromvrom part is fun but the rest is just meh. 'After You' (to me) sounds like One Republic's Counting Stars. Or a remix of it idk. Not a fan either even tho Sungmin still is the vocal king. 'Farming' to me is just ???????? I love their noise tracks but this one was just chaotic and weirdly put together. Like, there's Ceremony, Giant and Side Effects and then there's.. this. Whatever this is. 'I Do' to me just sounds like millionaires wanting to be relatable with their fans while actively being 3 tax brackets above them. Yes I know they've been through shit and whatever but like, that was then. Not now. And yeah maybbe it's a track for younger audiences who are going through stuff and want to feel heard by their idols but like.. come on. 'Way Out' I can tolerate as a background lofi track that's Han Pop adjacent so, it's okay. 'T&T Fest. Ver' No. Hard no. ChkChkBoom FV was suuuper well put together, Ceremony FV was also alright but the problems started with Do It FV where it just, wasn't an actual good track, just a sped up version with a bunch of hard bass on it. Ceremony HipHip Version was good for the award show but not a version I'd put in any playlist. And the T&T FV kinda follows that where it's just a sped up wall of sound with no real production behind it. All in all, idk man, maybe it's because I realized that these people are millionaires that disillusioned me a bit from them a while ago, or because everything since Hop has just sounded samey, or because I just love their hiphop stuff more but, I really hope part 2 of the skz replay is better than this (for me). Feel free to get mad or whatever but this EP just wasn't it for me personally.
