But even though I am a victim, I do not and will not live my life as one. I am an Olympian. Despite being abused, I worked so hard and managed to achieve my goal. But I want everyone, especially the media, to know that despite my athletic achievements, I am one of over 140 women and survivors whose story is important. Our pain is all the same, and our stories are all important.

Now, Larry, itâs your turn to listen to me.
this picture means a whole lot more to me now
Aly apparently is still planning to go for Tokyo 2020. When asked if she thinks speaking out will jeopardize her chances of making the team she says:
âI think that speaking out and creating positive change is more important than any Olympic medal you could ever winâ.
This is the attitude that everyone at USA Gymnastics should have. I wish her luck in her comeback and hope she can be successful in creating a positive change in the sport.
âWhy are we looking at why didnât the girls speak up? Why not look at what about the culture? What did USA Gymnastics do, and Larry Nassar do, to manipulate these girls so much that they are so afraid to speak out? I am angry. Iâm really upset, because itâs been â I care a lot, you know, when I see these young girls that come up to me, and they ask for pictures or autographs, whatever it is â every time I look at them, every time I see them smiling, I just think: I just want to create change, so that they never, ever have to go through this.â
We love you, Aly ïžâ€ïž
Donât jump to conclusions, they said.
I canât wait for Aly Raisman to burn Indianapolis to the ground and start her own national governing body for gymnastics from her house

To realize how historic this AA final was: this was the first podium without a Romanian or a Soviet/ex-Soviet gymnast since 1963. In fifty four years. The end of an era.
I am SCREAMING
2/25 Greatest Olympic Gymnasts (in no particular order) â Nadia Comaneci
Nadia Comaneci will always be remembered as one of the best-known gymnasts in the world for her historic perfect ten at the Montreal Olympics in 1976. She successfully defended her balance beam title at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, and became the floor gold medalist as well. She also won a silver medal in the all-around and contributed to the silver medal winning Romanian team.
She won the balance beam title at the 1978 World Championships in Strasbourg, as well as silvers in vault and the team competition. One year later, at the 1979 Fort Worth World Championships, she contributed to the team gold. Nadia has won a significant number of European Championships as well. In 1975, she won gold in the all-around, balance beam, vault, and uneven bars competitions, as well as a silver on floor exercise. In 1977 she won the all-around and uneven bars titles yet again, and a silver on vault. In 1979, she won the all-around, vault, and floor exercise competitions, and a bronze on balance beam. At the Summer University Games in 1981 she swept the gold medals in all but the balance beam.
Nadia Comaneci has two skills named after her: The Comaneci Salto (kip to immediate straddled front salto) and the Comaneci dismount (underswing half turn into a back salto). The Comaneci Salto is currently rated an âEâ element in the Code of Points. Along with her gymnastics accomplishments, she was also awarded the Olympic Order in 1984 and 2004, the highest award given by the International Olympic Committee. She was also inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Nadiaâs fame and successes are memorable today, and she will always be known as one of the most famous athletes in Olympic history.
