okay but i don’t think people realize how many amazing writers we are losing (especially on tumblr) by NOT. GIVING. THEM. ANY. FEEDBACK. like seriously guys, dont just like but also reblog their fanfics, I can assure you it means a lot more to them than you probably think.
#it’s like sam’s saying: #i’m being extremely clever here#and you two are too busy stripping each others clothes off with your eyes #what’s the point in me even being here? #and dean’s like: #mmm yeah check out this angel #would i do him? #would i? #oh i totally would #and cas is like: #…….
I’M SORRY
BUT IS THAT DEAN
OR IS THAT JENSEN
BECAUSE THERE IS NO REASON FOR DEAN TO LOOK AT CAS LIKE THAT DURING THAT TIME

Just caught the S.7 ep "Hello Cruel World" I always say that Classic Supernatural (S1-5) is the best , but I have to admit, I truly do enjoy season 7. I liked the leviathans! We were back to monsters, back when Sam and Dean were just guys running from a threat closer to home. It harkens back to the days when Henrikson was the biggest threat on the block. Also, Halluficer. Enough said :D
In Which Diversity Isn't a Myth
Ok. I’m tired of the typical vampire, werewolf and fairy.I’m also tired of the occidental-centrism in mythology. Hence, this list.
I tried to included as many cultural variants as I could find and think of. (Unfortunately, I was restricted by language. Some Russian creatures looked very interesting but I don’t speak Russian…) Please, add creatures from your culture when reblogging (if not already present). It took me a while to gather all those sites but I know it could be more expansive. I intend on periodically editing this list.
Of note: I did not include specific legendary creatures (Merlin, Pegasus, etc), gods/goddesses/deities and heroes.

(I have stumbled upon web sites that believed some of these mythical creatures exist today… Especially dragons, in fact. I just had to share the love and scepticism.)

Dokkaebi/도깨비 in Korea are common creatures that come up in stories that don’t seem to be on the list of tiny creatures… They may be in the goblin lists though
For those looking for something(s) outside the ‘standard creatures’ used in literature.

tips for college freshmen
- Whatever your high school teachers have told you about college is probably incorrect.
- You will get sick in the first couple of weeks because your body has never had to live with 400 other people and deal with all their germs. Always have tissues and chapstick on hand (especially in your backpack)
- Save the syllabus the teacher gives you on the first day. It will have all important due dates and criteria in it
- Don’t buy the book until you know you need it. Textbooks are hella expensive and I only used about a third of the ones I bought my freshmen year (be careful though cause the bookstore can run out)
- Check amazon & other sites for competitive textbook prices
- If you’re lost, ask someone for directions. They won’t care, especially if it’s the first few weeks
- Talk to your teachers. Sit in the front row. It’s almost always a good thing if the teacher knows who you are. Make connections with the ones that stand out to you because you will need them in the future (i.e. grad applications or other recommendations)
- When given an assignment, read it and do what it is asking. Don’t do more. Just do what they ask you to do. (this one is coming from my mom who teaches freshmen and every year someone tries to go above and beyond but ends up not answering the original question)
- STAIN STICK/ TIDE TO-GO IS A NECESSITY
- 8am classes suck. Don’t take a class that early unless you have to. You will regret it.
- Try to schedule your classes back to back but don’t forget to factor in some time to eat
- Get a planner or calendar of some kind so that you can see just how much time you have to write that paper
- Freshmen always travel in packs. That’s how we know you’re a freshmen. If you don’t want to get moo’d at (because you move like cattle), don’t travel in a huge pack of people
- You don’t have to be best friends with your roommate. You may not even get along. But you do have to live together. Be patient. Talk to them. C.o.m.m.u.n.i.c.a.t.e.
- Don’t be afraid to eat alone.
- Separate your darks from your lights when doing laundry and never never never wash anything in hot water unless you want it to shrink and wrinkle.
- Unless you’re in a science course you probably won’t have to bring the book to class. You may never even open the book. See tip #2
- Go to a frat party at least once (if your school has frats). You might love it; you’ll probably hate it. Either way it will definitely be an experience.
- Don’t drink jungle juice unless you saw the person make it. Never accept an opened can of beer. Keep track of your cup. Roofies are real and very dangerous. Always have a friend to walk home with.
- Say hi. Just say hello to people. It’s so easy to make friends in the beginning because everyone else is just as scared and new as you are
College is a blast. Best four years of your life and it flies by compared to high school. Have fun. Be safe. Make good choices!
How Dean and Sam Winchester actually speak
No like, do you ever think of how terrifying Sam and Dean would actually be? Firstly, they’re both physically huge guys. They’d be covered in scars and bruises. They’d swear a thousand times more than this. They’d have those shifty eyes and trigger-happy hands. They’d always be armed and they wouldn’t be afraid to show it. And you know that damaged look some people get once they’ve seen some bad shit? The far off eyes and the animalistic kill-or-be-killed demeanor? Yeah. They’d both have that. They’d smell like sweat and dirt. Their clothes would have these mysterious, vaguely blood-like stains.
The Winchester brothers would be fucking terrifying.
I doubt this was intentional but it is rather quite interesting.
First of all, recap, Castiel had just run off to the Middle East to snag some holy oil right? This is important. Then Dean is standing behind talking about how Cas has never gotten it on, Cas looking increasingly uncomfortable.
Cas rubs the back of his neck in nervousness when Dean basically expresses his disbelief at Cas having never been with someone.
Back to the whole visit to the Middle East Cas paid a few minutes ago; in Lebanon and other parts of the Middle East, rubbing the back of your neck towards someone is to express romantic interest in him or her.
We have talked about Sam loving the sound of Gabriel speaking in other languages. What about Gabriel leaving Sam little notes in different languages though? Sam always finds them in odd places like under his plate after eating or as a book mark while researching. Of course Sam always gets sidetracked trying to figure them out. Or maybe Gabriel uses them to set up a scavenger hunt with himself as the prize at the end.

*LANGUAGE KINK HAS BEEN HIT SO, SO, SO, SO HARD*
Oh god, I just, fucking hell, I love the idea of Gabriel leaving compliments for Sam in other languages, because it’s so amazingly perfect and wonderful and Sam loves it from an intellectual challenge AND the sap and Gabriel just grins and waits for Sam to figure it out.
OH MAN.
OH MAN.
WHAT IF. INSTEAD OF HIMSELF. GABRIEL SENDS SAM ON A HUNT FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
And slowly, it’s a list of compliments. Some that Sam has seen before, just in a different language. And Sam laughs and follows the notes, and the directions and then he ends in the library, and his favorite book is sitting open on the table and Sam walks towards it and catches a glint in the light of the room.
He freezes. Because against the open pages, there is one more note, and this time with a ring on top of it.
The words are in english, and scrawled in a messy handwriting, that means the angel wrote them himself and Sam’s eyes blur as he stares at the ring on top of the note.
So he steps closer and just stares at the note, laughing, because the note is so, so Gabriel, and so fucking perfect.
‘Do I really have to ask?’
And Sam clears his throat and looks upward and just, growls. “Yes, you have to fucking ask, now get down here!”
When Gabriel’s laugh echoes from behind him, Sam just grins and crosses his arm, watching the angel scoop up the ring and roll his eyes with an “all right, all right, my dear moosetaur, would you very, pretty please, do me the honor of bonding yourself to my ass?”
Gabriel’s pretty sure that Sam’s blinding grin is an answer, but the kiss he gets (and the library sex, SCORE), seals the deal.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how ridiculously in depth thehillywoodshow went when making the parody? Like they perfectly mimicked scenes from not just episodes, but also gag reels, dances the actors did at conventions, etc. and it was just so beautiful.
The Hillywood Show’s Supernatural Parody is brilliant (go watch it!!)
But I also love how it just looks like they had a lot of fun making it
