Have you noticed that when Charlotte created the water snakes they were almost... sentient? Like, one of them shook off ice when Emma froze it, and they all turned around to the sound of thunder. They can hear. They're made of water and they can hear.
Almost reminds me of another water serpentine figure with ambiguous amounts of sentience... Was Charlotte powerful enough as a mermaid to create her very own S3 water tentacles? Oh the neurons in my brain are bubbling
I mean, if you consider Mako Mermaids to be in the same universe, it's possible that Charlotte – a stronger human-turned-mermaid, such as Evie (more complete abilities vs the girls single/double powers) – made the snake serpents as a spell.
Maybe Charlotte subconsciously made/invoked it. On both occasions it's made of water from the moon pool, so maybe this is a defense mechanism or something like that?
In S3 the water tentacle is alive on its own, to draw the girls to the moon pool and show them the threat that was coming, so they could protect the moon pool/source of mermaid power.
So maybe Charlotte, a powerful mermaid, invoked the pool's magical defense against what were threats to her, the other girls.
If I understand the lore/logic of season 3, the tentacle is not alive because of the moon pool water, as there is nothing special about it;
The crystals in the walls are charged with electromagnetic energy aka "mermaid magic" and during a full moon, the moon awakens that energy and shoots it into the water of the pool to create the tentacle. I guess Charlotte, by having all three powers, can do the same (as it's really just energized shaped water, using Rikki's power for electricity, Emma's for stability, and Cleo's for movement), but a man-made version of that, so it's also a bit more polished and looks like a snake rather than an ambiguous serpentine shape. Thoughts, thoughts...

Rewatching S2 and my Ashmma feels are HIGH
Don't get me wrong, I love Rikma as much as any other h2hoe, but Ash and Emma were a lovely couple that is often very underrated with what they brought to the screen. I wish we got a follow-up after Ash learnt Emma was a mermaid. Of all the boys he definitely was the one who earned it the most by being patient and enduring Emma's secrecy/lying and putting up boundaries around it...also they're both hot af

Don't get me wrong I'm not un-blaming Charlotte for her behaviour at the end of the season but WHAT THE FUCK LEWIS MCCARTNEY
Cleo is your childhood friend, YOU ditched the birthday party Charlotte threw for you, for the better one Cleo, Rikki and Emma did for you, and the next episode your clearly problematic girlfriend says "I don't know what I did to them but they want nothing to do with me" and you just take it at face value??? Then you agree to stop talking to your close group of friends, including two of which you've known since CHILDHOOD?????
And worse of all, Charlotte shows up with Cleo's locket, A THIRD OF THEIR SET, and you just believe Cleo gave it to her, even though we've already established that Cleo hates her and Charlotte hates her back? Why would you believe it? How could you just refuse to try to hear both sides, especially the one from your group of friends you've been nothing but loyal to for the past year?
People often talk about 'Zane's character assassination' in season 3 but no one talks about how shitty of a friend Lewis is in season 2. Don't get me wrong, the girls AND charlotte both have a fair share of the problems, but most of it could've been avoided if Lewis actually called out and stood up to Charlotte half of the time, or just strictly communicated. Lewis is so avoidant of confrontations it actively caused so much misunderstanding and hurt between all of them, it's insane

Anyways I feel like there is power in making only female villains by saying genders doesn't have to be limited to one side of the story. This is a show about women, and I find it fair they CAN occupy every role available. Women are not always innocent, but not always witches. They are complex characters who can oppose and contradict and that's a better reflection of society than typecasting based on what perspective YOU want to see, rather than how life really is
Corrective bias is still a bias and you're giving people a prescription of the world that doesn't really exist.
On an added side note, I (as a man) love how female/women unifying this fandom is, how it is guarding that girlhood nature that is missing from most adult lives, but at the same time, I find it's automatically toxic towards men while dismissing women's faults for the sake of corrective biases, which just misses a lot of the points and burns a lot of neutrally good characters at the stake for something a character like Charlotte would be forgiven for. At the end of the day we're criticising 15-18 year olds with the same rage we should have against criminals and bad politicians

Do you think from Ash's point of view, Cleo and Rikki are hanging out at Emma's house for the night on a weekend, and are probably acting weird because they might've had alcohol/smoked weed? Obviously this isn't in the show but it makes me think what would he think Emma's 'big secret' upstairs is and why they are acting so irresponsibly

In an official post shared by Stan (streaming network), it is confirmed that Cariba Heine will be a part of a new original mermaid film titled Scales.
ScreenAustralia descrived the plot:
"Set against the picturesque backdrop of coastal Queensland, Scales is an uplifting sun-drenched modern mermaid fable exploring self-acceptance, friendship, and the courage it takes to stand out.
Mira (Lizzie Violet) is a determined twelve-year-old whose ultimate dream is to secure a spot in the Silver Haven Mermaids, an elite artistic synchronised swimming team. However, navigating intense competitive trials, insecurities, and shifting family dynamics takes an unexpected turn when a secret wish manifests into unexpected, life-changing consequences, forcing Mira to balance her sporting goals and everyday life with an extraordinary new reality.
[...] the film features Cariba Heine in a highly anticipated, nostalgic return to the mermaid genre after her starring role in the globally iconic H2O: Just Add Water."
While this is unrelated to the H2O universe, it appears that Cariba is stepping back into the water and perhaps into her tail again. No release date is confirmed yet.
