Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, and are loved by the Most Merciful One: Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih, Subḥānallāhi ‘l-`Aẓīm. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, and are loved by the Most Merciful One: Glorified is Allah and praised is He, Glorified is Allah the Most Great.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matika, wa tahawwuli ‘afiyatika, wa fuja'ati niqmatika, wa jami'i sakhatika O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the removal of our state of well-being, the sudden onset of Your punishment and from all that displeases you
And fear Allah that you may succeed. Quran (2,189)
O Allah place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure without punishment or account.
عَنْ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيِّ، قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْعَصْرَ بِالْمُخَمَّصِ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَضَيَّعُوهَا فَمَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الشَّاهِدُ " . وَالشَّاهِدُ النَّجْمُ . صحيح مسلم حديث ٨٣٠
Abu Basra Ghifari reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) led us in the ‘Asr prayer at (the place known as) Mukhammas, and then said: “This prayer was presented to those gone before you, but they lost it, and he who guards it has two rewards in store for him. And no prayer is valid after till the onlooker appears” (by onlooker is meant the evening star). الصَّلاةُ هيَ الرُّكنُ الثَّاني مِن أركانِ الإسلامِ، وصَلاةُ العَصرِ لها فضْلٌ عَظيمٌ، لذلكَ حثَّ الرَّسولُ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ على المُحافَظةِ علَيها. وفي هذا الحَديث: صلَّى النَّبيُّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ العصْرَ “بِالْمُخَمَّصِ”، وهوَ مَوضعٌ في ديارِ بَني كنانَةَ، ثمَّ قالَ للصَّحابَةِ رضيَ اللهُ عنهم: ((إنَّ صَلاةَ العَصرِ عُرضَتْ على مَن كانَ قبلَكُم))، أي: اليَهودُ والنَّصارى أو غيرهم، ((فضيَّعوها))، أي: لم يَقوموا بحقِّها، فلم يُصلُّوها في وَقتِها، وتهاوَنُوا فيها وترَكُوها، فأَعطاها اللهُ لأُمَّةِ الإسْلامِ، ((فمَن حافَظَ علَيها كانَ له أجرُه مرَّتَينِ))؛ الأجرُ الأوَّلِ لأنَّه حافَظَ علَيها خِلافًا لمَن ضيَّعَها، والأَجرُ الثَّاني أَجرُ عملِه كَسائرِ الصَّلواتِ، ثمَّ نهاهُم صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ عن التنفُّل بعدَها حتَّى تَغرُبَ الشَّمسُ، ويظهَرَ ((الشَّاهِدُ))؛ وهو النَّجمُ، وسُمِّيَ شاهِدًا لأنَّه يشهَدُ بالليلِ ويَحضُرُ. وفي الحَديثِ: الحثُّ على المُحافَظةِ على الصَّلاةِ. وفيه: الحثُّ على أداءِ الصَّلواتِ في أَوقاتِها. الدرر السنية
It was said: The prohibition of praying at this time only refers to the prohibition of delaying the obligatory prayer without a valid excuse until it coincides with sunset. This prohibition does not apply to obligatory prayers performed on time, nor to missed prayers being made up; rather, it specifically applies to voluntary (supererogatory) prayers.
This Hadith highlights the following:
