âTeach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.â
â Buddha
Looking Forward &Â Emperorâs New Clothes (by Nathaniel Merz)
Half of life is lost in charming others. The other half is lost in going through anxieties caused by others. Leave this play, you have played enough!

âThe place to improve the world is first in oneâs own heart and head and hands, and then work outward from there.â

Biggest Supporter
We have grown too comfortable in becoming our âown worst criticâ. Beating ourselves up about the littlest things, ignoring our emotions for the sake of others, allowing negative thoughts to deeply affect us and not valuing our worth. Why have we grown so comfortable to this? Is it because it comes from a familiar place, a familiar voice? We all know that voice very well, as Don Miguel Ruiz calls it the parasite. â The Parasite is a garbage eater. It loves fear and drama; it loves anger, jealousy, and envy; it loves any emotion that makes you suffer.â The human mind has become sick with a parasite, itâs the same parasite we allow to feed off us and in such a way that it causes our mind to become inhabitable. Pushing away any happy or positive thought because thatâs not what it feeds on. Why have we allowed it to form such a strong bond with us? This is not a question to blame because it is not you or your fault. This is a question to help us better understand our relationship with our parasite and to find another relationship within us to build. The supporter, if we have the power to become our worst critic than we have the power to become our biggest supporter. Everyone has the ability to become their own supporter but itâs up to you to find that within yourself. I, for example, have found my own supporter within the words I speak and write. The words I use to help the people I care about are what make me realize that if I can help others and help them feel better then I can do that for myself. The words I use in writing fuel a powerful feeling of pride within me and it causes me to admire myself. You can find your supporter too. Think about what makes you feel pride for yourself, what makes you think âshit Iâm awesome as hellâ, what aspects of yourself do you think about and it puts a smile on your face? Remember to approach this with care. Youâre not looking for flaws, mistakes or the things you wish you could change but rather admiring the things you take for granted within yourself. We are all much stronger than we think we are. We deserve to give ourselves a better life filled with joy and self-love and compassion. I hope my writing has inspired you to find your own supporter. I will continue to write on more helpful topics, feel free to message me with any questions or even topic ideas.Â
Much love. -Kim
