I'M STILL ALIVE

I've been over at my UT RP blog way more often!!

This blog is not dead, I have just lost muse for Haida and I think I need to watch Aggretsuko again to recover it... plus, I haven't had access to my computer to be able to write replies.

But until then, consider this blog on a simple hiatus until I'm able to write again!! Thank y'all!!

    Upon hearing the question practically shot at him, he finds himself perk up in surprise, a strange jolt in his body before that weird butterfly feeling overtook.

    “W-What What?! Me? N-No No! I-I’m…I’m abstinent!” The lie was thrown faster than the question asked as he waved his paws, an attempt to sway the other from pressing on.

[ He was trying hard—he talked to Retsuko when he felt he should (which was often), inviting her places, he asked if she was okay when she didn’t seem so, sometimes even took her home if she asked for it. Even then, he didn’t know if she was getting the message that he wanted more than just a friendship with her. He hummed, grabbing the change and pocketing it as he nodded thankfully to him, taking another sip of his cappuccino.

Upon making the question though, and earning the flustered and quite obvious reaction, the hyena got quite the large smirk on his face. Oh boy, he knew a lovebird when he saw one. ]

“ Oh, really? Why’s your face red then? You definitely like SOMEONE, and you’re making it so darn obvious! “

[ He could try denying it all he wanted, it was obvious he held a crush on someone simply by that reaction... god, he had to admit, this guy was pretty cute. ]

here is something i haven’t seen people talk about.

RESPECTING YOUR DUPLICATES

no one is forcing you to interact with them, or follow them or even look at them. there is a blacklist for a reason if you don’t want to see them around. but people need to get rid of the idea that THEY own the character, and no one else can play as them. get rid of that mentality that no one else is allowed to have that muse that YOU DIDN’T CREATE, and that anyone who has that muse should be chased away because they aren’t you. that makes you an asshole quite honestly.

unless it’s your OWN ORIGINAL CHARACTER, you cannot tell people not to write a muse. it’s okay to be uncomfortable with duplicates, i think we all get a little anxious or nervous about them, but it is NOT okay to try and chase them all out. vagueing about them, sending them hate and telling them they’re not good at what they do? that’s fucked up. so stop. you do not own that canon character you’re playing and you should stop trying to chase them all away and acting like you’re the best of the best. everyone brings something to the table.

so just. the moral of the message is RESPECT THAT DUPLICATES EXIST AND QUIT TRYING TO CHASE THEM AWAY BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONE.

now, here’s a problem i have with the rpc lately…

i always see mutuals stating they need to ‘tackle’ their drafts, or say they need to work extra hard during their free time to just push out due replies.  i, myself, say & do the same thing —— & while roleplaying, yes, is between at least two people with keeping a thread going… i can’t help but wonder—

have we, at least myself, lost sight of what’s important by roleplaying?

most of us spend all of our time on here TRYING TO CATCH UP.  in a way, forcing ourselves to write out replies, that we at times might not be happy with.  i know i’m guilty of that, anyway.  at the end of the day… if we’re stressed over catching up, posting stuff we’re not proud of  ( at times ), constantly trying to balance between real life & piling up drafts, allowing ourselves to work on writing to threads we might not be inspired for… WHY DO WE DO IT?

i feel like the rpc, & the mindset of us as a whole, needs a change.  if any of you is like me, you might get what i’m trying to say!  don’t force yourself to feel like you need to catch up all the time.  post stuff you are proud of!  do what you’re inspired & motivated for.  don’t push yourself to respond to things here every chance you can get— take some time for yourself, as well!  this way of structure is… kind of unhealthy tbh.

i hate the feeling of constantly “needing to catch up” & it makes me not enjoy roleplaying as much.  believing that our friends / mutuals / rp partners will grow to resent us due to owing a reply for so long which can be SO ANXIETY INDUCING.  can we all learn to just do what we find most fun without being so stressed over our slowness or pickiness??

i’m kind of annoyed at the communities belief that dropping threads or liking a starter call and not responded is a terrible thing. like that belief of “oh they didn’t reply to that one starter i wrote one time they’ll never reply to anything why should i even bother”

i don’t support that at all.

so basically, if you don’t mind that your partner may drop threads or not reply/maybe forget to reply to a starter, please reblog this? its so unhealthy for someone like myself who gets afraid to drop threads on the chance that my partners may think i don’t want to write with them, or worse BECAUSE i dropped it they won’t want to write with me.

its a bad cycle to end up hoarding drafts because you’re afraid they’ll be mad at you for dropping it. so if you don’t mind at all and will still continue to want to write with them, reblog this and let your followers know that you are okay with them dropping threads, and you won’t hold it against them.
