Oikawa’s twin sister and her decade long crush on Iwaizumi Hajime.
A/n: WC - 1.6k, reader is the twin sister of Oikawa 😍. Contains a good amount of reader and oikawa moments too tbh. Reader is DOWN BAD for this man lmao, hope I did him justice i tried my best 🙏.
You’ve always known Iwaizumi was an attractive man. Ever since Oikawa first brought him home in middle school, you’ve had your eye on him.
At the age of fifteen, you and your twin brother probably had the same conversation at least seven thousand times.
“For the last time, Tooru, give me Iwa-chan’s number.”
“First, Iwa-chan isn’t what you can just call him. Second, I’m not giving my sister my best friend’s number.”
You take your phone out of your pocket, dial a number, and flip your phone around. The contact name is labeled “Tooru’s Ex-Girlfriend.”
“You wouldn’t.” Your twin brother stands up and clumsily tries to snatch your phone out of your hand, but he accidentally hits the call button instead.
“Tooru. That was all you.”
Before the phone could ring for the second time, the person on the other side of the line picked up.
“Fuck,” you whisper to an extremely shocked Tooru standing in front of you.
Silence fills the house. You could hear a pin drop.
“Hello?” the girl on the phone called out quietly. “Um, who is this?”
The kind decision would have been to hang up the phone, but instead you hold your left hand out, and Tooru lets out a sigh of resignation. Slowly, he takes out his own phone and sends you Iwaizumi’s number.
****
During your second year of high school, the volleyball team lost their chance to go to Nationals. You called Tooru at least twenty times that night, but he only texted you to go home by yourself. Although you guys had your ups and downs, you still decided to go look for him. He was your twin, after all.
“Y/N!”
Suddenly, you heard someone call your name. Iwaizumi stood behind you with a hand on your shoulder. You almost forgot all about your twin for that moment.
“I can’t find Oikawa.”
You stared into his face. This was the first time you had seen him this up close, and he had his hand on your shoulder.
“Y/N?” He took his hands off your shoulders and waved it in front of you. “I know I’m usually pretty mean to him, but this stupid idiot is making everyone worried.”
“Right, Tooru.” You snapped back into reality and tried your best to steady your heart, which felt like it was about to burst out of your chest. “I’m looking for him too. I thought he was with you?”
“Nah, he disappeared after I went to the bathroom.”
Iwaizumi stood up a little taller, and my God, you got even more distracted. Iwaizumi was still in his volleyball uniform, with his track jacket layered over it to keep him warm. His biceps flexed against the fabric, and with each breath, his chest pressed against his jersey.
“It’s getting late. Here.”
He suddenly took out his phone and placed it into the palm of your hand.
“I’ll call you if I find him, yeah?”
It was quite embarrassing to admit, but Iwaizumi’s number had been sitting in your phone collecting dust. You never gathered the courage to text him or call him.
“Alright, I’ll also call you if I end up finding stupid Tooru.” You say with a laugh, and the puff of air that escaped your lips betrayed how cold you were, standing in nothing but a long-sleeved T-shirt and pants that did not do their job of keeping you warm.
“You cold?”
Before you could answer him, he took off his jacket and draped it over your shoulders.
“Call me when you see Oikawa, yeah?”
Iwaizumi turned away before you could answer, leaving behind the lingering scent clinging to his jacket. It was still warm.
Looking down at your phone, you couldn’t help but giggle like a little girl.
Just as you turned around, you found your twin brother coming out of a random building. His eyes were puffy, but he didn’t seem as upset anymore.
“Tooru—”
“It’s alright. There’s still next year.”
Your twin wiped away the last few remaining tears from his face and let out a big sigh.
“I should call Iwa-chan to let the team know I’m okay.”
“No!”
You snatched the phone from his hands.
“I’ll call him for you.”
You took out your own phone and pressed Iwaizumi’s number.
“Are you—”
Tooru stepped closer and lifted the jacket off your shoulder.
“Is this Iwa-chan’s jacket?”
You ran ahead of Tooru and spun around, showing off the newly obtained jacket Iwaizumi gave you.
****
After your twin went to Argentina, you lost your one and only excuse to talk to Iwaizumi. But luckily for you, you guys ended up going to the same college. Gathering up all your courage, you asked him what he was going to study in college on the last day of high school (even though you already made Tooru tell you by blackmailing him).
On a good day, you would walk by the lecture hall Iwaizumi was in and sneak a peek or two. After high school, his number started rotting away in your phone once again. And this routine continued until one day, on your way to sneak a peek at Iwaizumi, you suddenly bumped right into him as he was coming out of his classroom.
“Hey, Y/N. What’s up?” He flashed you a quick smile, and all the progress you made toward moving on threw itself out the window.
“Oh, I was going to the dining hall.” You clutched your tote bag a little tighter. It’s now or never. “You wanna come?” You put on your most nonchalant smile, while your brain was internally screaming.
“Yeah. Haven’t talked to you in a while.”
Iwaizumi held out his hand for a second, and you froze.
“Oh, your bag looks heavy. I was just offering to hold it for you.”
He chuckled at your expression, but you swore you saw his ears turn red.
On the way to the dining hall, Iwaizumi held your bag along with his own, all while you tried your best not to pass out. You guys could’ve taken the short path, but both of you agreed to take the longer way for “scenic purposes.”
This kind of felt like a date, except it was on the way to a crappy college dining hall. You asked him about his studies, he asked you about your internships, and for a moment, it felt normal. Like you were conversing with a friend. Like going to dinner with Iwaizumi was something regular for you.
It wasn’t just you being delusional, because while you were busy battling your own nervousness, Iwaizumi’s heart felt like he had just run ten miles on a treadmill in under an hour. Ever since you washed the jacket he had lent you that night in high school, he started thinking of you none-stop. The jacket had become infused with your scent, the fabric felt softer, and he started wearing it less in order to preserve the smell of your perfume. He always thought it was weird for him to do, especially since you probably didn’t do weird stuff to his jacket while he’d lent it to you.
“Y/N, did you ever like me in high school?” Iwaizumi’s words came out before he even realized it. “Oh, I didn’t mean—”
“Yeah, I had a big fat crush on you.” You laughed in order to hide your embarrassment. You couldn’t even look him in the eyes.
“Did your brother know?”
“Tooru? Yeah. He actually gave me your number before we exchanged numbers…” You wanted to physically slap yourself for speaking. He did not need to know that.
“Why didn’t you ever text me before that?” Iwaizumi wanted to do the same thing.
“I guess… I don’t know. I was scared?”
“Are you still scared to talk to me?”
Iwaizumi shifted closer to you just a tiny bit. Your shoulders touched, and neither of you moved. It was more intimate than you thought shoulders touching could ever be.
“Well, I—”
“Y/N, this probably sounds weird, but I was wondering if you would give me a chance.”
Iwaizumi scratched the back of his head. It was definitely an impulsive decision, but he just needed to get it out.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
“Shit, my bad.”
Iwaizumi shut his eyes as if hoping he could rewind time.
“No, wait, I just meant—”
You took a big step back and dramatically let out a sigh.
“Fuck, I mean…” You let out a breathless laugh. Your crush on Iwaizumi lasted for almost a whole decade. What is there to lose? You looked back at him.
“Yes. I wouldn’t even hesitate.”
You needed to pinch yourself to prove that you weren’t dreaming.
You ran back to his side, and your hands brushed. This time, you decided to take that step and intertwine your fingers with his. Iwaizumi flinched a little, but he squeezed your hand back.
“Tooru would be delighted to hear this.”
You laughed just imagining the look on your twin’s face when you told him the news.
“That idiot is probably working his ass off in Argentina right now. Some good news wouldn’t hurt.”
Since middle school, you’ve had your heart set on Iwaizumi Hajime. Through years of dedicated hard work (and stalking… and blackmailing… and threatening Tooru), Iwaizumi now stood next to you, holding your hand. After endless late-night talks your twin had to endure, it was safe to say he’d be hearing even more. And now, it wouldn’t only be you talking his ears off about Iwaizumi—he’d now be hearing it from the both of you.
Pranking Atsumu Miya with embarrassing videos of himself during your wedding except you guys are so mega-in love with each other
A/n: WC - 1.08k. Timeskip Atsumu Miya with the mentions of highschool Atsumu. Mega fluff oh em gee. I need to stop writing for atsumu the favoritism is getting out of hand oops. Hope you guys like it!!
White dress, veil touching the floor, and your fiancé’s brother standing next to you. The day Atsumu proposed to you, the scenario that Osamu and you joked about became real. In high school, Atsumu had way too many embarrassing moments caught on camera. It would be a waste if only a few people got to see them, so Osamu and you decided to play them on your wedding day.
You first debated whether you should do this or not. It seemed a little mean. But ever since he played that video of you ugly crying when he got down on one knee during your bridal shower, there was no turning back.
Down the aisle, Atsumu wore a white suit, his tie matching your favorite color. The smile on his face stretched from one ear to the other. His hair was slightly more toned than the bright yellow he had in high school. Now that you think about it, you kind of miss it. You chuckle at the memories that now feel so long ago.
As he walked down the aisle, his best men cheered louder than everyone else in the crowd. Hinata slapped Bokuto multiple times as he jumped up and down like a child. Osamu had to make up some shitty excuse for not being there with the rest of them. (He had actually just told Atsumu he had a surprise, and poor Atsumu didn’t suspect a thing.)
Seeing that Atsumu had arrived in front of the altar, Osamu ran down the aisle and gave Atsumu the biggest hug ever. Though Osamu would never admit it, he had to swallow back a few tears.
“Hi guys, before our lovely bride walks down, we actually prepared a gift for my lovely brother.” Osamu laughed into the mic as the projection screen lowered. He looked at a clueless Atsumu, still smiling like an idiot.
As the crowd went wild, you slowly crept behind a pillar to watch their reactions. This video has consumed you for the past week. Having to hide it from Atsumu was extremely tiring because this man wanted to be glued to your hip twenty-four seven.
The video started with a very happy high-school Y/N waving to the camera.
“Hi guys! I want this video to play during Atsumu’s wedding so I can expose him to his poor wife.”
You flipped the camera to Atsumu on the ground with a bruised arm, his cheeks covered in mud and his bike drowned in a puddle that none of you saw coming.
“He looks like he just ate dog shit.”
You pointed at Atsumu sitting on the ground, and Osamu’s laughter blended into yours.
“This does not look like a surprise.” Atsumu turned to Osamu and kicked him, but before he could land another hit, he was held back by the people he called his best friends.
As the video went on, Atsumu’s face got redder and redder, while the crowd’s laughter became louder and louder. From his fights with Osamu filmed by Suna, to him choking on food, to the clip from your first date that had been filmed because Atsumu was so nervous that he dragged half of the Inarizaki team with him and told them to hide.
At the end of the video, a high-school Osamu set up the camera in their childhood bedroom. Atsumu sat on Osamu’s bed, hugging a pillow.
“Hey, ‘Tsumu, repeat what ya just said to me again.”
Osamu lowered the phone so his twin couldn’t see that he was filming.
“I said… I think…” Atsumu buried his head further into the pillow. “If it’s not Y/N that I marry, then I won’t marry anyone.”
His voice got quieter and quieter, and the crowd absolutely erupted upon hearing this.
“You said more than that, dumbass.”
“Fuck off.”
“Nah, just repeat what you said. I didn’t hear ya.”
“I think I’m in love with Y/N. If it works out—”
Atsumu suddenly stood up beside their bed.
“Are you filming?”
The camera fell to the floor as Atsumu launched himself onto Osamu. No more than ten seconds later, Atsumu snatched the phone off the floor and spoke into the camera with a bruised face and a bleeding lip.
“Ya know what, ‘Samu? I’m gonna play this at Y/N’s and my wedding.”
And that’s where the video ended.
Atsumu laughed a little and immediately turned around to face his brother.
“You’re so dead for this, ‘Samu.”
Atsumu gave Osamu’s shoulder a tight squeeze and smiled, making Osamu chuckle out loud and stumble backward.
“Alright!” Osamu walked back to the middle of the stage to escape from his terrifying twin. “Let’s welcome the bride!”
You stepped out from behind the pillar where you were hiding, trying your best to hold back your tears. As embarrassing as it was, you had cried so much while making the video.
So much has changed since high school. The boy in the video had changed so much, but you were sure that his love for you was one thing that had never changed. Through countless arguments, all the hair toner sitting in your bathroom cabinet, and thousands of little pranks, you could finally walk toward Atsumu.
Each clip of Atsumu in that video contained pieces of what you loved about him. People saw him as chaotic in that video because that’s what you decided to show them. Selfishly, you kept the other parts of Atsumu to yourself.
Each step you took toward the altar reminded you of a different memory of Atsumu. The ones you kept from other people. The parts that Atsumu saved just for you.
Each step toward the altar represented something different: a late-night conversation, the touch of his fingers, the secrets you two shared, and the warmth of your limbs tangled together under the sheets. You’d dreamed of this moment. You’d written about it in your journal during high school like the lovesick teenager you were.
And there he was. Standing in front of you.
“So, you can expose me to my future wife, huh?” Atsumu took your hand in his, trying his best not to show how nervous he was. “Any thoughts?”
He kissed your forehead, as gently as a feather drifting to the ground—just the slightest touch of his lips.
“I guess your wife really loves you if she decided to stick with you after all that.”
You giggle at him, taking it all in. You lean closer to him, closing the distance between the two of you even more.
After years of fighting with each other (or flirting, it’s a fine line really), Atsumu Miya hears that someone else was going to confess to you on Valentine’s Day.
A/n: WC - 1.5k, reader is also a setter. Super-duper-fluff, childhood friends. Like semi-enemies to lovers. Atsumu Miya 🤤
Ever since grade 5, when you and Atsumu Miya met at that damned volleyball summer camp, your life had flipped upside down. Especially when your mothers met and they instantly clicked, soon the decision was made to send the three of you to the same middle school, which eventually led to you attending the same high school as well.
When you guys first met, he was trying to set a ball to Osamu. Though he was pretty clumsy, he was undeniably good for a fifth grader. You were never one to pass up the opportunity to compete, so you walked up and challenged him. It wasn’t that serious now that you look back, but at eleven years old, you were determined to prove you were the better setter. You still have the expression on Atsumu’s face burned into your head when he lost by two points.
Now, year after year, he’d drag you and Osamu to practice with him on weekends, after school, and early mornings. After years of hard work and practice, he actually managed to get an invite to the All-Japan Youth Training Camp. And when he heard that you didn’t get invited to a single training camp that summer, his laugh echoed through the school halls so loudly that several of his fangirls lost interest in him on the spot.
After that day, you made volleyball your one and only goal—well, besides beating Atsumu Miya.
“Hey, ‘Tsumu, ya think the guy from Class 2’s gonna confess to Y/N?” Osamu yawns and flips over on his bottom bunk. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen.
“What guy?” Atsumu scoffs from his top bunk. “As if a guy could ever be into her.” Though Osamu couldn’t see him, he could practically hear the eye roll in Atsumu’s voice.
“You seriously don’t know?” Osamu sits up in bed and turns on his bedside lamp. “He’s been making it loud and proud that he likes Y/N.”
Atsumu tosses and turns on his top bunk before sitting up so fast Osamu thought he’d collapse right on top of him.
“Nah, Y/N wouldn’t say yes to that stuff.”
“Ya sure? I saw her walking with him the other—”
“Nah, you saw wrong.”
Atsumu falls back onto his pillow, his chest rising and falling while his hands interlocked on top of his stomach.
“Alr’, just making sure you’re not going to lose it if he does confess.”
“You make it sound like I care.” Atsumu sighs loudly before pulling his pillow over his head in an attempt to cover his ears. “Turn off the damn lamp, ‘Samu.”
The next morning, Osamu woke up at the time he always did—7:30, ready to slap Atsumu awake, only to find an empty bed. He walks out of their bedroom, grabbing his uniform, just to end up bumping into a locked bathroom door.
“Wait! Give me three more minutes,” Atsumu yelled through the door. “Don’t come in!” He gave the door a kick just to make sure.
“When did you wake up?” Osamu leans against the door and starts changing right there. “Don’t tell me you’re dressing up, dumbass.” He chuckled as he took off his pajamas.
“Shut the hell up, ‘Samu.”
Atsumu walked out of the bathroom with freshly washed hair, styled messily with just a little bit of hair gel. He also smelled like cologne.
Osamu’s cologne.
“Did you use my cologne?” Osamu purposely bumps into Atsumu as he walks into the bathroom. “For fuck’s sake, Atsumu.”
Fortunately for Atsumu, he wasn’t the only one who dressed up today. You woke up at 6:00, beating Atsumu by waking up thirty minutes earlier. Hair washed, everything showered, hair curled, makeup done, perfume sprayed.
It was just Valentine’s Day. You didn’t expect anything to happen. You would totally be okay with it even if Atsumu—if no one confessed to you.
“Hey, Y/N!”
The twins stand outside your house waiting for you. Ever since you moved to the same middle school, the three of you had always walked to school together. Osamu was always in the middle to prevent any unnecessary harm between you and Atsumu.
The two of you never complained, but Osamu had started noticing the tension in the air ever since high school started. He had suggested to his twin multiple times that the two of you should just walk side by side, but the idea was always shut down as quickly as it was brought up.
As you open the gate, your eyes immediately flicker to Atsumu. You’ve always noticed him first in a crowd.
He looks… different.
Better than usual.
Except he didn’t smell like his usual self.
“What, ya wanna pick a fight with me first thing in the morning?” Atsumu raises a brow and closes the gate behind you, forcing you to move faster.
“Nope. You just smell weird today.”
You naturally settle next to Osamu, and the three of you begin walking.
Hearing your comment, Osamu accidentally lets out a puff of air, his laugh poorly disguised as a sigh. Atsumu, on the other hand, didn’t even hear what you said because he was too busy wondering why you dressed up today.
It better not be because of the guy Osamu was talking about last night.
After the three of you arrive at school, Osamu nudges Atsumu on the shoulder and whispers, “Ya better hurry the hell up and do your thing, ‘Tsumu.” Osamu cocks his head in your direction. Standing in front of you is a tall guy with brown hair. Atsumu immediately recognizes him as the captain of the basketball team. You laugh at whatever joke he just made, and it kills Atsumu to see Mr. Basketball Captain looking at you all dressed up. God, he could practically see the drool coming out of his mouth.
“Y/N! Get moving, class starts in two minutes.” Atsumu speeds off in the other direction, trying his hardest to erase the image of you from his mind. And how much he hated not being able to face you properly.
“Wait! Y/N, before you go, let me give you this.” The boy in front of you pulls you back slightly and places a package into your hand. It is wrapped in ribbons, and written on top are the words, ‘For Y/N.’
“Aw, thanks, Taisei—”
“Hey, Taisei or whatever your name is, she appreciates it.” Atsumu grabs the package out of your hand and pushes it back. “We’re leaving.” Without looking back, Atsumu drags you by the arm. You grew up playing volleyball, so you weren’t exactly short or weak by any means. You wanted to resist Atsumu, but you just couldn’t. You weren’t looking at where he was taking you, but the two of you ended up in the back garden of the school.
“We’re already so late for class, idiot.” You try to pull your hand back, but Atsumu reaches into his bag instead. He pulls out a clumsily wrapped box of chocolate with a letter on top of it. You gasp, secretly hoping it was for you. And as egoistic as it sounds, a part of you knew it was for you, “I knew something was off with you.”
“In a good way or a bad way?”
“In a telepathic way…” You squint at the box of chocolate in his hands. His knuckles have turned white from gripping the box so hard. Before he could open his mouth to speak again, you take the chocolate from his hand and laugh.
“What—” Atsumu looks away from your face, and his ears turn vibrantly pink. “I bought it for you. Happy Valentine’s Day, Y/N.” He moves closer to you, step by step, as though you would run away in fear if he dared to move any quicker.
Your smile stretches across your face. “Glad I didn’t dress up for nothing.” You take another step, even closer to Atsumu. Years of rivalry made you realize that no one would ever know you the way Atsumu did. He knew your serving routines for jump serves, regular serves, and float serves. He knew your favorite volleyball player, and he knew the way you looked when you were determined during a game.
“Y/N—”
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Atsumu.” You rise onto your tiptoes and whisper into his ear. You quickly put your chocolate back into your bag and press a quick kiss to his cheek before turning back to Atsumu.
“We’re already late for class, ‘Tsumu. Are you coming?”
On the way back to class, Atsumu manages to sneak his hand into yours again.
”You still smell like Osamu by the way.” You bump into Atsumu with your hand tightly interlocked with his.
“You smell like you.” Atsumu gives your hand a tight squeeze and bumps you back. “How were you so sure those chocolates were for you?”
”I just knew, from years of fighting with you I guess.” You smirk at him.
”Right, telepathically, you just knew.” He laughs and pulls you even closer to him.
Out of a petty decision, you decide to trash on Osamu’s business, but the temptations were too great.
A/n: WC - 1.1k y/n is like a food review vlogger thing, Osamu has big fat biceps…Timeskip Osamu. Osamu isn’t the fav twin sorry I have a bias so don’t come for me too hard if its ooc 💔✌️
You woke up at 3:00 in the afternoon due to staying up late editing videos last night, and the only thing your stomach is craving is onigiri. You hit the upload button and send the video out, then throw on a mask and a black hoodie, hoping they’ll make a convincing disguise.
You’re about to walk into Onigiri Miya, the restaurant that you published an entire 5-minute video about, telling viewers not to go. Well, in your defense, the owner of Onigiri Miya has this super famous brother or whatever, and his fangirls always crowd up your favorite bakery to catch him walking out. So out of rage, you kind of uploaded a deinfluencing video. It’s a petty move, sure, but you had to do what you had to do, right? As much as you hate to admit it, the one time your curiosity got the better of you and you actually tried their onigiri, no other onigiri has ever hit the same.
So now here you are, dressed extremely suspiciously, about to wander into the long line at Onigiri Miya. The line in front of you wasn’t as bad as the other days, probably because the volleyball player Miya isn’t here today. After 5-ish minutes, it was almost your turn, but the cashier at the counter suddenly left and a man walked out.
Osamu Miya. The owner of this shop… (the same guy you also got into a heated argument with because he personally invited you to his shop to prove you wrong, and you, out of the pure hatred in your heart, ate everything he cooked only to tell him it was terrible). It’s fine, it will be fine. With your mask and hoodie disguise, there was no way he would recognize you. You’ve only seen him twice afterall.
Step.
Step.
“Uh, I would like—”
Your words were cut off as you suddenly made eye contact with the man.
“I will never come to this place again, she says.” Osamu looked at you with a mocking tone in his voice. “Perhaps the bakery down the street?”
“I, uh… my mom wanted your onigiri today.” You quickly looked back down at the display case, your eyes flying across the different flavors trying to find the one you wanted. “Is the unagi flavor still available?” you ask, your voice slightly quieter due to embarrassment.
“We never offered an unagi flavor?” Osamu asked, tapping his fingers against the display glass.
“Yes, you have. I remember when I came last time—”
“Oh, you remember? I thought our food was so forgettable that you would never come back.” Osamu chuckled slightly and tilted his head, waiting for your response.
“What if I also have a twin, and I’m not actually the one who uploads food reviews?” You laughed. Your hoodie felt too hot all of a sudden, and your mask was starting to suffocate you. You were questioning your choices. Damn it. You should’ve just settled for the left-overs in your fridge.
“Don’t lie to me now.” Osamu let out a full laugh and tapped on the counter. “We ran out today, but let me get you something else.”
“Oh.” The shock crossed your face before you realized it. You didn’t expect him to be this nice after your hate video on him got so many views… now you actually felt ashamed. This must be his new strategy. But before you could say anything, your stomach growled in approval. “Tuna mayo, then. Two. Thanks.”
“You don’t gotta look embarrassed. I still gotta serve you as my customer, y’know?” Osamu pressed a few buttons on the cash register and then stopped abruptly. “Actually, I got a deal for you.” Osamu leaned closer to you. You really needed to take this hoodie off. It was getting unbearably hot. “Go sit. I’ll bring you your food later.”
Strutting over to a seat next to the wall, it offered you a perfect spot to peek into the kitchen of Onigiri Miya. Osamu walked back in after taking orders from the next few customers. A pair of biceps came into view, along with an apron with the words ‘cooKING’ on it. Osamu really made most of the onigiri himself. Guess it’s not false advertising after all. All around the restaurant, pictures of Atsumu Miya hung on the walls, ranging from them in high school to his most recent magazine shoots. They looked identical, but Osamu just felt so much more approachable, like someone you’d want to talk to. As you zoned out looking at the picture of the Miya twins while Osamu still had silver hair, the very real, grown-up version of him sat down in front of you.
“So about that deal…” He set down your tray of food next to you, along with a drink you didn’t order. “The drink’s on the house.”
“This feels like a trap…”
“Well, if you think we’re still fighting, I surrender.”
“You’re making me feel guilty on purpose.” You stared him down and picked up the tuna mayo onigiri your stomach had been screaming for. The bite was heavenly. Yet while your stomach enjoyed it, your mind flashed back to the scene of Osamu rolling the rice around and… his biceps.
“Alright, Ms. Y/N, I have an idea. For Peace.” Osamu picked up the other onigiri from your plate.
“Pfft—I didn’t know you could be funny?” You laughed with a mouthful of rice, until you looked back at his totally serious face. “Okay, we’re serious. Uhmm, what kind of peace are we talking about?” Another mouthful of the onigiri. God, this man deserved some sort of compensation for offering humanity this.
“Delete the video and upload another one to redeem our reputation.” He leaned back in the chair and crossed his arms, his muscles flexed in all the right places.
“I thought you surrendered?”
“I ain’t arguing, am I?” Osamu shrugged and unwrapped your onigiri, which you bought with your hard-earned money.
“I paid—”
“I made it.” He took a huge bite, cutting the onigiri in half with one bite. “Anyways, consider our deal. You get to eat my food every day, and you get mega profit.”
“My fans are going to call me a hypocrite.” You rolled your eyes, knowing damn well that you’d be uploading that video the second you got back to your apartment.
“Your fans won’t deny good food.” Osamu smirked and finished the rest of the onigiri in one huge bite.
When he left your table, you watched him go back to serving the rest of his customers with a smile on his face, and that’s when you knew it was over. Before you left his restaurant, he came by your table again and offered you napkins. The one placed on top had a line of numbers on it. Under it, the note said, “For collabs ;)”
Highschool Bokuto finally meets someone that matched his level of energy.
A/n: WC- 1k reader has zero knowledge about volleyball 😓, she’s also super-duper loud and chaotic. Possible triggers of second hand embarrassment oops. Sorry if its ooc i tried my best to do him justice 💔
Watching a bunch of sweaty guys playing volleyball was not how you planned to spend your beautiful Friday afternoon, damn it. Your sister Yukie has been the manager of the boys’ volleyball team for a while now, meaning that she has to fulfill her duties during after-school club hours, so you usually just go home by yourself. However, today, Yukie suddenly asked you to wait for her after school because the team had a practice match, and she had just finished watching a horror movie yesterday, so she begged you to walk home with her in the evening. (Also because you’ve lost your key, and you haven’t exactly told your parents about that yet…) Your sister has always been super devoted to this club, sacrificing her summer for their training camp, going to away games and stuff, while you don’t have a single ounce of knowledge about volleyball. Though from the way she looks when she talks about volleyball, you’ve gained some curiosity about it.
As of right now, you’re watching your sister’s classmate Akaashi talk to Bokuto, the guy in your math class who barely managed to pass his last test, the energy between those two creating an extreme contrast. Your sister often says that your loud personality is the only one she’s seen that came close to Bokuto’s, so it’s only natural for you to be curious about this guy.
As the players stepped onto the court, you took out your phone to check the time. And within those three minutes of you looking down, a sudden yell came from the court. You look up, seeing Bokuto point up to the sky and laugh with joy.
“Akaashi! Did you see that?” He walks over to Akaashi and brags about how he’s the best ace ever. Akaashi only acknowledges him by going along with whatever he’s saying.
For the next serve, you decided to watch him and see what it was about this Bokuto. Along with a perfect pass to Akaashi, Bokuto runs toward the net and hits the ball down to the other side of the court with an amount of strength that you were sure could knock someone out.
And in the next second, before you even knew it, you opened your mouth and let out a cheer. Well, it wasn’t like the gym only had one audience. A few other people were in there, but everyone still turned toward you. You somehow managed to cheer louder than the extremely excited Bokuto.
“YEAHH!” Bokuto laughs at your unexpected cheer and sticks a thumbs-up toward you. You laugh back, and your sister sighs while covering her face with her hands.
“I did not know Bokuto could play like that. Why didn’t you tell me?” You look over at your embarrassed sister with the biggest smile on your face.
“Well, you never asked.” She looks back onto the court while letting out a giggle herself. “I told you, your personalities would match so well.”
Within the next few points, however, you watch Bokuto’s spiky hair slowly fall down, and his shoulders droop along with it. His super powerful hits somehow managed to get blocked two times.
“Akaashi, I can’t hit any of your sets anymore…” His expression went blank, and everybody around him barely reacted. It was like his teammates expected this. Akaashi mumbles an “okay” at Bokuto and walks back to his position. For the rest of the first set, Bokuto just kind of stares at the ball moving between courts.
“Why is Bokuto not hitting anymore?” you ask Yukie.
“He’s doubting himself currently. Don’t worry, he’ll come back soon.” Even your sister did not react to Bokuto’s sudden mood switch.
That’s weird. Bokuto’s like the best volleyball player you’ve ever seen. Not that you’ve watched many games before, but why would he doubt himself?
“HEY—” You wave a hand in the air before Bokuto serves the next ball.
“Y/N, what are you doing!” Yukie wraps her arm around your neck and covers your mouth while her face goes red. “You can’t just interrupt his serve like that.” Yukie closes her eyes, probably hoping to rewind time.
“Why not? He wasn’t serving.” You look at your sister and Bokuto holding the ball behind the service line. Suddenly, his entire body stiffened up, and he stood up taller. He looks at you and nods. Though a little confused, you give your best smile.
The next second, he serves the ball to the other court, and the volleyball makes this “woosh” sound and a “boom” sound as it flies across the gym. Bokuto erupts in laughter again, as if the last ten minutes never happened. Seeing him smile again, you can’t help but cheer along as you repeatedly slap your sister’s back while pointing to Bokuto.
“I should’ve told you to go home without me.”
“I don’t have my keys, remember??”
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
“Hey, Yukippe!” Bokuto rushes over to you guys after the game ends in victory. His forehead gleams with sweat. Your eyes meet, and before you could say anything, Bokuto yells, “I was super impressive, right!”
“Yes! When you hit the ball, you jump super high, and it goes like WOOSH, and then it lands on the other side of the court, and it’s like BOOM!” You clench your fist in excitement as you’re talking to him.
“Good job on impressing someone who’s never watched volleyball before, Bokuto.” Akaashi walks over to Bokuto and says in a monotone voice.
“HUH? Akaashi, I did so well in this match!” Bokuto stands with his hands on his waist and the most smug expression. “Anyways, what’s your name? You’ve got a great eye for picking up talent!”
“Y/N! I sit behind you in math class…” Your smile falters, and you begin to stare him down. “I take back my cheers.”
“Wait!! You’re the pretty girl that’s always humming songs behind me in class!” Bokuto points at you and smirks. “Next time I’ll be sure to say hi to you!”
It was safe to say that Yukie did not feel scared to walk in the dark that day, because a loud Bokuto and a loud Y/N were enough to fill the entire neighborhood with noise.
The difference between Atsumu’s first time in your apartment, vs now that he’s living in it.
a/n: WC - 1.1k, super fluff, Time Skip Atsumu Miya, crackfic lmao. If this is ooc im sorry yo 💔
Just a little over a year ago, Atsumu Miya first stepped into your apartment, standing at the door, waiting for your permission to tell him to come in. The scene of an Olympic player waiting for your permission was quite… a silly scene to see.
“Come in, and take your shoes off!” You take off your jacket and throw it on the back of your couch like you always do. Atsumu, on the other hand, walked into your apartment like he could fall through the floor at any given moment.“What?”
“I’m just not sure if I—” Atsumu stops mid-sentence and scratches the back of his head while his usual smirk is nowhere to be seen. “This feels a little intimidating, Y/N.” He laughs, hoping not to expose how awkward he feels. Though his figure usually dominates the court, it was like his presence shrank by 20%.
“What feels intimidating? Me?” You walked closer to him, pulling him in, and closed the door behind you guys. Still barefoot, Atsumu walks over to your couch and looks at you again. “Yes, you can sit.” You laugh and lay against the backrest of the couch, purposely putting your foot against his back.
Atsumu’s leg shakes up and down, and his hands had been sitting on his lap for about five minutes before he asked you, “Should we be… doing something?” You’d always thought that he would be the kind of person to take control of everything, but even Atsumu Miya could be unsure of things. “We don’t have to, but I mean—” Atsumu groans at his inability to form a proper sentence and flops onto you, hoping that you didn’t see his red ears.
“What do you have in mind?” you asked him, purposely trying to evoke a reaction.
“I’m going to go to the bathroom.”
Atsumu leaves the warmth of your body and stands up. He stubs his toe against your kitchen table and mumbles under his breath, “Ow… for goodness’ sake, Atsumu.”
“Tsumu! My bathroom’s over there.” You point him in the opposite direction of your bedroom, which he was just about to wander into.
While you were on your phone on your couch, Atsumu had just walked into a trap that you weren’t even aware of. The sight of your underwear hanging in the shower, your used towel on the rack, along with the bra you threw in your laundry basket last month. Atsumu had barely just managed to catch his breath, only to lose it as quickly.
Within the next minute, an extremely red Atsumu had walked out of your bathroom, but his whole demeanor had changed. It was like the old annoying Atsumu was back. He walked over to you, breathing down your back, the backrest of the couch separating his body from yours.
“I wanna see your bedroom next, Y/N.”
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
Monday mornings were always your least favorite. On Mondays, Atsumu always has to leave bed early and go to morning practice, so his side of the bed always feels cold on Monday mornings.
“Y/N, Y/N, wake up!”
This Monday morning, a very energized Atsumu had woken you up instead of letting you sleep.
“I can’t find my shorts anywhere.”
“Uh, the laundry basket?”
“Checked.”
“Your closet?”
“Checked.”
“Your bag?” You roll over, only to get flipped around by the man who had taken up half of the space in your apartment.
“It’s not there! See, somebody stole it!” Atsumu picks up his phone and sits back down on the bed. “I have approximately ten minutes to look for it before I am late for practice.” He flops down onto your stomach, causing you to groan in pain.
You grab a handful of his blond hair and sit him up, letting your whole body lean against his muscular back. Barely awake, you force yourself out of bed to help him look for his goddamn volleyball shorts.
“If I find it, I’ll—”
“Beat the shit out of me. Yeah, I’m ready.” Atsumu pats your ass, reassuring you that he was ready for the consequences of waking you up at seven in the morning.
You walk into the bathroom and plunge your arms into your laundry basket. Your clothes are tangled together with his: matching pajamas, day-old T-shirts. Atsumu walks in beside you, ready to help you find those shorts. He picks up pieces of clothing one by one. Your bra, his boxers, the hoodie that he lost a week ago.
“Hey look, it’s the hoodie I lost a week ago.” He laughs while his elbow bumps into you.
“I wish there was a more sophisticated way to call someone an idiot.” You roll your eyes at him, unable to push down the corners of your mouth that were forming a smile.
“Osamu would love to have this conversation with you.” He gets up and stumbles backward. “See? I told you, it’s not in there.” He sighs and starts picking up the clothes he threw on the floor to put them back into the laundry basket, only for you to push his arms away.
“Atsumu, would you open your eyes, please?” You pick up the wrinkled shorts that were covered by piles of dirty clothes at the bottom of the laundry basket. “Say sorry to all of my clothes you just threw on the floor, for God’s sake.”
Atsumu coughs and bends back down, pretending to be serious. Then he picks up your clothes one by one. “Day-old T-shirt you haven’t worn in weeks, I’m so sorry.” He bows his head. “Pink bra that you wore for three months before retiring it, I am so sorry.”
You chuckle at his half-assed apology, and your mind flashes back to when he first came to your apartment. He stood by your door, scared to come in, blushing from seeing your clothes. Now he’s bent down on his knees next to you, occupying your private space.
“You can’t wear this pair of dirty shorts to practice.”
“I won’t. I was just worried I lost them…” Atsumu glances down at the floor, preparing himself for a punch or a few.
“I think I need to talk with Osamu to come up with a new word to call someone stupid. Go to practice, Tsumu.”
You walk him toward your front door, filling your dreary Monday with laughter and love. And just before you let him go, the sight of his first time in this apartment appears in your mind again. He was shy to be in this space; now he’s announcing his presence to everything you own. Not only does he live in your apartment, but he’s also taken up space in your head. Unfortunately for you, you’ll never be able to get rid of him now. Fortunately, you no longer have to remind him to take his shoes off or tell him where the bathroom is. The coffee table now held two mugs, your bed gained another pillow, and there was an extra toothbrush next to the sink.

“i genuinely don’t know why my brain just goes blank when i look at you. i think i’m going a little crazy.”
the little laugh or smile a character a does in utter disbelief because character b is just so endearing and sigh
one character going “so this is really awkward cause i know i told you i wasn’t looking for love but then i kinda fell in love and i would love it if you’d take me”
“can i love you?”
“i just… adore you.”
character a noticing character b is sleepy while driving and being like “hey i can take over for you”
the classic “no i’m not in love with character a, yes thinking about hurting them makes me want to throw myself into ongoing traffic, no it doesn’t make sense to me either”
their love interest fell asleep and your main character has a blanket so they give it to them
confessions when one character thinks the other is sleeping
they kiss for the first time and one character just steps back and is like “um ok. yeah that’s not a normal kiss i def love u”
character not being able to even fathom or come close to understanding how someone can dislike such a beautiful ray of sunshine and oh yeah ok…. they’re def in love
characters who’ve been married for years falling in love all over again
exes to lovers
“i think i love you…?” “….. think?” “let’s just say a ninety-nine percent chance.” “i’ll take it.”
that moment where your character just… looks. just looks at their love interest for more than five seconds and doesn’t understand why or how this earth can exist and the sun and moon exist and the sky can be an eternal source of happiness and yet this person right here can bring so much more warmth and comfort to them with just a single glance
note confessions because yes written confessions in letters are superior
“i got you a gift. i hope you like it.” and character who receives the gift tries not to mention that any gift would mean more than the stars in the sky as long as it was from them
“do you… love me, by any chance?” “yeah, why?” “well, i’m sorry, i was just— WAIT WHAT—”

Waiting for inspiration to strike can take too long. It's also not the best way to improve your writing, since you may not write very often in-between ideas.
I've been there before. When you're getting impatient, find your next idea for a short story or potential novel by trying these simple tricks.
1. Try a Plot Generator
Generators will throw ideas at you that you might not think about otherwise. They don't always make sense, but it's fun sifting through their options!
Check out more than one to find a site you like. You could try:
Plot-Generator
Reedsy's Plot Generator
Big Huge Thesaurus' Story Generator
Cool Generator's Random Plot Points
ServiceScape's Plot Generator
2. Find Random Facts
There are other sites that pull up random facts that could inspire a creative streak. They may also help you with singular plot points your story might be missing or more details while fleshing out characters.
See if you prefer:
Mental Floss' Fact Generator
Fact Republic's Generator
This Random Fact Generator
This Other Random Fact Generator
This Other Fact Generator
3. Check the Current News Headlines
Look up the current news in another city, state, or country. Without reading the stories, see if you can imagine a plot for each headline. It can be a fun creative exercise if you stay away from heavy topics.
You could find the latest news at places like:
NPR (I like their Strange News section too!)
The New York Times
The BBC
Reuters
Global Issues
4. Think About Your Recent Dreams
Dreams don't always make sense, but they can make you think outside of the box. Maybe you recently dreamed about escaping a haunted house or running into your old crush while on a vacation across the world. It could inspire your next story or even just a small part of one.
5. Try Free Writing
Your writing may have come to a halt because you get too caught up in the process. Free writing is an excellent exercise to break out of routines and old habits.
It first started in 1973 and hasn't changed much since. All you need to do is set a timer and open a new Google doc or grab a piece of paper. When the timer begins, start writing your stream of consciousness down and don't stop writing until the timer ends.
Whatever comes to mind should end up on your paper. Don't worry about sentence structure, grammar, or spelling. The exercise will loosen your creative flow and help you think through the writer's block keeping you from your next story.
6. Do Some Digital Eavesdropping
You can always sit yourself down in a public area (like a coffee shop) and eavesdrop on other people's conversations to hear about experiences you've never thought about before. But something about that always creeped me out, so sometimes I go digital.
Scroll through social media sites like Instagram or Twitter. Look for posts with pictures or a quick caption that doesn't explain the full picture. See what's trending, what the latest celebrity gossip is. Make up stories behind it, like with the newspaper headline trick. You'll get much different ideas than you'd find on news sites without carving time into your schedule for stopping by a place in town.
7. Map Your Mind
If you've never tried mind mapping, it could be a great place to start your next brainstorming session. All you need is a central idea or theme.
Imagine picking a theme like self-love. You'd traditionally write it in the middle of a piece of paper and draw a circle or box around it. Arrows then branch off of that theme to whatever idea pops into your head when you think about it.
There's no order to the branching thought bubbles and you can branch off of those as long as you want. Eventually your words could add up into a story idea, scene, or character.
The University of Adelaide has a great example diagram if you're having a hard time picturing your mind map.
8. Write a Re-Telling
There are re-tellings of classic stories all the time. Think of Hamlet turning into The Lion King. Or the folklore that morphed into Disney princesses, who morphed into the gripping series The Lunar Chronicles.
When re-tellings are done well, they give a new perspective on a well-known theme, legend, superstition, or moral.
Many writers feel like they have to avoid re-tellings in their short stories or as future novels, but they can be powerful ways to convey meaningful storylines and themes if done well. They're also a great way to jumpstart your writing after a dry period.
9. Listen to Music
Trying to write something in a quiet room might not help your creative flow. The silence can make your critical thoughts louder than anything else or make it more tempting to set your writing aside.
It's always a good idea to try listening to music while you write. Specifically, you should select a few songs or a playlist that makes you happy. Research shows that creativity greatly improves when people listen to music that generates happiness.
There's also evidence that it's easier to focus while listening to lyric-less music.
Not sure where to start? I've got some recommended background noise apps, websites, and free playlists over on my resource list. It's got everything from rain sounds to my favorite lyric-less low-fi YouTube playlist.
10. Write Fan Fiction
The blank page is even more intimidating when you're not very familiar with your characters or setting. Fan fiction can be a balm for that. Try writing a short story about people in your latest favorite TV show, movie, or book series. You're already very familiar with those worlds, so practicing your writing skills by freestyling new arcs or scenes can be a lot of fun.
11. Analyze a Book's Plot
We all have a favorite book. Think of the one that last dazzled you or made you fall in love with reading. How did it do that?
Sometimes it helps to study an existing book you've already read. You can map it out on paper by writing down character names, inciting events, the plot points that built to the story's finale, and everything in between. Note how each point made you feel and why it mattered. You can reflect those strategies in your own work, which may solve your writer's block.
12. Watch a Documentary
There are some wild documentaries out there that will blow your mind. Pick one and enjoy it, then ask yourself what if things had gone differently? Tweaking part of an event could make it branch off into an entirely new story. It's basically writing fan fiction, but it may interest people who are more into instructional media.
---
When you find something that works, enjoy it! Then try something else the next time you want to create a plot. Writing is a craft that changes with time. It's better to have a well-tried bag of inspirational tricks than sit around and wait for a story to pop up in your mind.
