It all went exactly how Amanda wanted it, except the old model had failed one crucial part of his mission: He had let the leader of Jericho run. They had assumed it was contaminated by the deviant virus, and while it was devastating that the RK200 had escaped, Amanda was far more satisfied with a model that could not become deviant, but could replicate the symptoms perfectly.

As Connor was slated to be destroyed, he began to cycle through his memories.

Ok so when a gem is broken they die right? Well diamonds are UNBREAKABLE. So they’re basically immortal, and the most beautiful, powerful, and rare gems.

Diamonds, however, can be broken by OTHER diamonds. So the crewniverse are being cagey af about pink diamond, and we all though it was Rose for a while, due to her huge size and the broken pink diamond statue and symbol at the Sky Arena. At first I thought it was because Rose was Pink Diamond and the statue would give it away. But what if Pink Diamond is dead. What if one of the other diamonds killed her

actually, diamonds aren’t unbreakable. they break/crack/cleave fairly easily along a few planes of cleavage. cleavage is the term for the tendency of certain crystals to break along definite plane surfaces. diamond has cleavage. other gemstones, like pearls, have no cleavage, but other gemstones do. a lot of people define “hardness” as an inability to be broken, but in gemstone terms, it’s actually how easily scratched a gemstone is. the hardness of gemstones is ranked on a table called the Mohs scale, and indeed, diamonds are at the top with a perfect 10, but that just means that they can’t be scratched by any other naturally-occurring substance than diamond. (there are synthetic substances that can scratch diamond, but again, they aren’t naturally-occurring.)

I actually have had a theory about Homeworld’s class system being related loosely to the Mohs scale! (but i’ll make a separate post about that, haha sorry)
