Dead Cells [Swearing The Novel]

I actually can’t believe it took me this long to get around to talking about this game. But for some reason I was t attracted to it, despite the fact after buying it, I realized I really like it.

Oh fucking goodie. Another god damned rogue like for me to waste my time with. Hurray, now I can spend hundreds of more hours on this instead of binding of issac. What a

In all serious I never though Dead Cells would be as fluid as it is. It feels amazing to play, the movement being really fun to play around with and the game making you feel like you’re a pro at the game by stringing attacks and ability’s together to reverse the landscape quickly while taking out enemies with the quickness. Then you’ll randomly lose the flow and get your fucking teeth kicked in by a standard enemy and feel like an idiot. It’s a good type of rogue like as well where you actually feel like your getting further and better as time goes on. The games currency, Cells, going toward unlocking new mutations, weapons, ability’s, and even making it easier for you to find higher quality weapons. So every loss doesn’t feel like you did nothing to get further in the game. But since it’s a rogue like we all know the end is never really the end. Prepare yourself for a lot of work because you might have to beat the game once or twice with no boss cell mulipliers to get the cell upgrades you’ll need to take on the games version of new game+. I know if you even read this (unlikely) and even take the recommendation to try the game (even more unlikely) you’ll have questions on what I just said. Don’t worry. Just play, it’ll come in time. So yeah the game has my recommendation and Im taking back my rating system. I think I’d rather do less rating and recommendations and want to just get the feelings out. Let it be known why I like or dislike a game. Maybe I’ll say “I recommend playing” sometimes but I’d rather just talk about video games more than drive people to or from games. And maybe my reason sounds dumb and isn’t thought out but look man, I’ve been up all night and I’m growing the stoopid. So to wrap up, I liked dead cells. Review over. Food in mouth time.

Hollow Knight Swearing The Novel

Hi, yes it’s me. The guy who said he was gonna start wrong more stuff about a month or 2 ago and didn’t write anything. Back so shit out a tasty, poorly written, and lack luster post with improper grammar. That’s me. B^)

So Hollow Knight then. It’s good, like very good. But it’s hard as shit, like hard. I know there was a time in games journalism where people just said, the dark souls of blank. But as someone who has played and beaten dark souls 2 and 3 with plans to do 1. Hollow Knight is Dark Souls but a metroidvania. MV’a were suppose to be hard, and we’re back in the day they were. But Hollow Knight is harder. It’s a very dark, and sad story that’s vague and has to be super put together with background info and found logs. Ya know, like Dark Souls. A story that’s not upfront but can be unraveled and explained with time and effort. And I’ve heard people say they don’t like dark souls due to difficulty and that the story is hard to understand. Which isn’t to say that people who didn’t play dark souls have played Hollow Knight. But there was a YouTuber who said he wouldn’t play dark souls despite playing and finishing Hollow Knight. But to me Hollow knight is just a great game. Just a game with absolute passion and love from a small developer. In an industry where $60 games aren’t nearly as deep and take as much time to play and finish, along with having micro transactions and broken launches, Hollow Knight shines by being only $15. All the added content which I believe was 3 dlc’s, were all free and included in the Void Heart edition. There’s a lot you could say about mechanics, and aggravating parts that seem non-fun or cheaty at times. But you literally can not pass up a game that is so beautiful, with a soundtrack so delightful, and combat that can be damn impressive to watch as you continue to grow and master it. If you don’t mind working with the game, and getting past the difficulty you will find a functional experience that I believe you will be glad to have played. Wait, hold on... Did I meet the swear quota? Shit fuck ass dick cunt worm fag clit uvula ass hat. That should be good enough. Hollow Knight is really a 9/10 but if you add value into it, it’s really a 10/10. Enjoy your day. Bitch.

Agents Of Mayham [Swearing The Novel]

It took me awhile to review this. Because I wanted to beat it, but I was so bored I would keep leaving to play literally any other game. But now we’re here. And I’m gonna review possibly half, maybe even 1/4th if a game.

I was originally drawn to the game by the premise of “a single player hero shooter”. Thinking I would be playing something that had characters with well defined abilities. What I got was a barely functioning shooter with basically barely anything “special” about their ability’s. So after my Dark Souls 3 review it should be known I am okay with a challenge. As long as it’s not a padded difficulty. Like the difference between easy and hard isn’t suppose to be 100,000 points of health or lower player damage and higher enemy damage. It should be some smarter enemies, or different placements. AoM just cranked their damn health up, and when I play a game and get presented a challenge, my immediate reaction shouldn’t be to either lower the difficulty or just leave the game to wallow in its own filth. Well I’m far into this already and I haven’t even said what this game is about or who it’s by. But truthfully that doesn’t matter to me. If it’s a game I don’t think you should buy, that’s all I need to tell you and explain why. I don’t need to tell you any back story if I think this is a waste of your money. And it is. I got it on sale with a shit ton of some kind of DLC, and it was still very disappointing. I also give no back story, because I had none when I bought this. I didn’t follow a development time line, or know this was coming out. A saw a review of it by Yahtzee, and since he doesn’t like anything and inflates problems for the sake of comedy, I thought maybe if still find some fun in this. and I wAS WRONG! FUCK! 3/10 no joke. The only fun I had was early, before I unlocked all the characters and found barely and actually need to continue. There wasn’t a difference between them like “oh this person is tanky but with a weaker gun and ability, and this person has a super strong gun but low health and a mediocre ability.” No. It’s literally just everyone using a gun and will sometimes use their ability. I love characters that are basically engineers. Using equipment like turrets to do most of their work. So when a character showed up to use one, I was disappointed to find out she’s hot ass, and her turret is fucking weak and useless. EVERY character disappointed me and I liked none of them at the end of my play time. That’s it. Don’t buy it, trust me. Alright, see ya next time.

So Saturday I didn’t post anything because I was playing Pokémon Go with my girlfriend, eevee event and all. But now I’ve been trying to find out what to post but I haven’t played anything new. So I really don’t have anything to write about! I’ll have to listen to some new music and do a few new Music Plz articles. Until I can spend some more money on games. Saints Row IV [Swearing The Novel]

This is exactly something I would review, an inappropriate game talked about by an inappropriate man. This is my comfort zone.

I wasn’t really on the saints row train. Never played any of the first 3. I heard a lot of good about saint row 2, but I’ve just had no interest in playing any of the older games. But 4, my lord I do enjoy this game greatly. It is the absolute best way to send off your series. A decent into absolute inanity where even the game knows it doesn’t make sense but tell you to have fun anyway. I feel like as a person who hasn’t played 2 or 3, since I know that the games been using the same city now for each one, I didn’t get the sandbox fatigue. Where I was just sick of the same city being used again and again. I enjoyed everything about saints row 4. Their is nitpicky tings of course. Like why one mission before we obtain supper powers do we have to drive a car to a garage so you can introduce cataloging vehicles? We can run faster than any car and you want to show us “Hey you can collect cars!” Thanks but no. Or how some exist only to take away the super powers like “shit guess you’ll have to pretend this is saints row 3.” But it’s still a fun game with jokes that are sometimes so dry and not even really jokes just references, that they still manage to make me smile, because it’s just a giant shit show and I love it. I always recommend it because it’s just fun nonsense and what gaming should be about. Just have f u n, because a lot of games sometimes give us ranks and we turn it into a second job. Just remember to play something absolutely bonkers sometimes, and relax.

8/10, play it for real if you haven’t. It’s aight.

Minecraft [Swearing The Novel]

I haven’t been uploading like I should have that’s my fault, I haven’t really played anything new and don’t wanna just talk about super old game all the time. “Hey but you’re talking about Minecraft now.” Yes, I know. But it’s all I’ve been playing for a while now and I don’t really know why so let’s talk about something I believe might make some people look at me funny.

I believe Minecraft is one of the best games ever made. Go on, think I’m retarded. As a creativity tool it’s of course fantastic, and some see it as nothing else. But a game that has basically started with almost no gameplay, has somehow sprawled out to being almost an epic fantasy adventure where you are allowed to imagine your own back stories and reasons why you’ve decided you want to destroy a dragon in an alternate dimension. Now I’m not saying it’s something that if you don’t like you’re fucking dumb, no no. What I’m saying is even if I myself didn’t enjoy it I can look at it, see what people enjoy about it and say it’s a good game. It’s something so large and expansive it’s in a completely different league of gaming. For example, I tried playing Forza Horizon 2 recently. I don’t really like racing games that are just racing games. Real life cars on a track going fast sucks to me. I can enjoy Mario kart and Crash Team Racing because it’s more cartoony and “video gamey” to me with power ups and bottomless pits to fall in. But I played it enough to get to the point you can upgrade your car and was slapped in the face with things like allingments and the ability to pick specific parts of the engine to tune and upgrade and realize this game is definitely not for me. But, I can see why a person who enjoys cars can really get into the game. I feel Minecraft is the same way. But Minecraft with its mod support and updates has just reached much further to me, so much so that when I think of gaming it’s one of the things that comes to mind. “HAL! You just started making a rating system for yourself too! I feel like this review didn’t only come about because you wanted to talk about your homosexual love for Minecraft and Notch, but because you also wanted to set an example for what a 10/10 game has to be!” Okay first off how did you get into my house? Second, stop reading my diary because my Notch fantasy’s are my own damnit. THIRDLY! You are correct. A 10/10 has to be perfection. Minecraft is polished, fun, expansive, and even though it doesn’t really have a story it’s still a video game that deserves the recognition for being basically perfect.

Good Nigger Sticker [Swearing The Novel]

Mmm, yes, good title. Literally something that every time I type it into YouTube I can feel it judging me. LOOK MAN! THATS THE TITLE! You’re not gonna tell me “you can say that word” when I have to discuses the song. I’m not gonna say “oh good n-word sticker” because it losing the impact, the meaning, and it’s named this way because it’s trying to say something.

Talking about this song is probably a no win scenario because there will always be people against anyonesayong the n word unless you contain a small amount of melanin. But fuck you I never stopped when other whiteys told me to not say retard, so I damn sure will never not say nigga. Another human being will not tell me I can’t say a word, you wanna discuss it more with me you’re open to. But that’s not what we’re here for, I have to get that out the way because B.O.B. Might have called this song good nigger sticker just to fuck with white music critics but I’m not no bitch. I’ve listened to this song a lot, I enjoy it, but I feel like it tries to setup a message and then drops the ball. It starts of strong at one point using the line “like sky daddies blessing black people for good behavior” which if you ever really want to piss off a Christian is the sure fire way to do so. But it quicky moves away from a message so profound as “we’ve moved from the era of Jim-crows where we were told we’re good niggers performing for the white man, to moving to an era where we still try to use good behavior to be the same good nigger but in a more relevant time.” Or Something along those lines, to being mainly braggadocios, talking about the people he’s rapped with. Ending with another message that I just let bounce off me and don’t retain because I feel like we moved away from what the song was really suppose to be about. In the end I guess it speaks volumes that a song with “nigger” in the title instead making me feel Maybe upset or shame for the past, makes me jam. It’s just a weird setup to not follow through on. All in all the song is a very light 7/10, since I do listen to is sort of regularly now. Take that for what it is. And just to be nice, I’m sorry if my use of the n word in this article has upset you, I do not use it in a derogatory way, I am not saying it at anyone, simply talking about it as if it were any other word in the English dictionary.

Dragon Age Inquisition [Swearing The Novel]

I missed the deadline for Saturday, so This will be the Saturday release, and then I’ll release another one, cool? Kewl. Let’s go.

So I never got around to playing dragon age 1 or 2... I played a lot of one after Inquisition, still haven’t beaten it yet though. But I enjoyed my time with this game a lot. The only bad part for me is the lack of replay ability. Every time I think I want to replay it, I get back into the starting over world and just think, “FUCK there’s so many thing to do before I even get to any really good parts.” I also always end up with the same companions, because if you think I’m gonna get rid of Cassandra you’re dead wrong. She is my queen. So I guess some of the lack of replay-ability is my fault. But there’s only like 4 classes and one of them is just the same split up between bows and daggers. There’s just not enough RPG to it for me to come back again. It just always ends up at the same spot. Plus there’s so much to micro manage with changing gear and weapons, slow menu movements, slow story, slow characters, slowly trotting around a giant map before you slowly load another giant map to FUCK MAN CAN WE HURRY THIS ALONG?! It all just boils down to not having enough things to develop a character into for me. There’s a lot to do, but I don’t want to do it as the same character every time.

The game is still a 7/10, because it was very fun while it lasted for me.

Takashi69, Nicki Minaj, Murda Beatz - “FEFE” V.S. Tyler, the creator - Potato salad

Just gonna open this real fast by saying 69 and Nicki made something worse than a song literally named potato salad. Like, the actual fuck.

Alright, let’s do the shit song first. FEFE is trash, at least when 69 was yelling in his other songs it had some energy. But now he’s just saying the same stuff he’s said already but like he’s off the xanx. The only line I can remember from him is something about hitting a girl from the back, but who gives a shit man. I don’t want to see a human chalkboard whispering sweet nothing into a girls ear. 69 is repetitive and only at his most interesting when he’s yelling at you. Even that can only last so long as well, the novelty for his songs wore of quick to me. Oh man and don’t even get me started on nicki. Just as boring and bland in this song, just copy paste lines from the worst Nicki song you’ve heard and that’s this one, the worst lines from a her worst stuff. Just nonstop “PUSSY IN YA FACE” stuff that was never good when it was a man saying “DICK IN YA MOUTH”. Chun Li was alright and her guest verse in ASAP Fergs Plain Jane was one of her best ever, no joke. Listen to that other than this song. Next song though is of course the winner, in the obviously weighted comparison. I have a special love for Tyler being weird, I’ve always gotten a BPD vibe from his work and it’s given it a weird edge to me that kept me coming back. Along with his voice being heavy and harsh, he has a distinct rap vibe I enjoy. His song potato salad with ASAP Rocky is pretty good. Just two decent rappers throwing out verses with no hook. They both bring their distinctive feel, and some very nice wordplay. Both rappers bring a feeling of fun that 69 and Nicki just didn’t. Yeah yeah there’s always gonna be some similar stuff like material Welch’s that rappers put in their songs, but Rocky and Tyler just have more fun with it and are more clever with the way they bring it across. Less of a “PUSSY IN YA FACE” vibe, and more of a “we know you hooligans in the rap industry have made a name for yourself but we have far surpassed your petty flows and quips.” Rocky seems to take a jab at mumble rap, which is something I’ve always just never cared for. Like, mumble rap isn’t awful to me. It can be boring and repetitive, but I think the term is pushed onto some song it shouldn’t be simply because the rapper has made some mumble rap songs. It’s kinda like the trap beats, you listen to some old dirty south songs and it’ll sound different to new stuff. I’m getting off track, let’s sum this up. Mumble rap is just a tool like trap beats to get your song noticed, it’s not an abomination. 69 and Nicki shouldn’t work together because apparently they balance each other’s crazy out and just become boring. ASAP Rocky and Tyler are a pretty good rap duo. And the scores are;

FEFE- 0/10 o wanted to be nicer and give it a higher score but I really can’t, simply because if it’s no fun and I can’t hear myself ever listening to it again, it’s a zero.

Common sense rant [Swwaring The Novel]

I missed the deadline I know shut up. I can handle this alright?! It’ll be fine. Now let’s do something different today and I’m going to share something I believe about common sense and laws. Now, laws are made to protect people, be it from each other or themselves. I can understand the cell phone laws, because you could go off the road or hit another car hard enough to kill someone, so it’s to protect not only you but others as well. So why the fuck are we forcing people to wear seatbelts? Don’t get me wrong I wear a seatbelt to be safe, and have since I was young, BEFORE IT WAS A LAW, because I was told what it was for. “Uhh, Hal, it’s to protect you in case of an accident.” FUUUUUUUUUCK that. Fuck the person who thinks “I don’t need my seatbelt right now, I’ll be alright going 80 down the interstate.” If someone dies because they didn’t have their seatbelt on what do we say? “Well should’ve had his seatbelt on” is normally what first comes out of someone’s mouth. Then most likely some other stuff about the situation surrounding the crash, but, it’s more than likely someone pointing out they had a better chance of living with the belt on. SO ITS SOMETHING WE ALL KNOW. But inforcing it by law makes it seem like forcefully protecting the kid eating dirt at recess with a baseball bat. I’m not saying you deserve death if you don’t wear a seatbelt, but it’s the same as not wearing a helmet on a motorcycle. If something bad happens and you die, you were partly to blame for losing your own life. So why do I think it shouldn’t be a law? Well, partly for freedom reasons, it’s my car if I was to drive without a seatbelt I shouldn’t be pulled over as if I was going 80 in 35. Partly because I believe in weeding out people who don’t have common sense. And partly because I do believe when things that are super common sense start having to be regulated by law, then we have an epidemic of stupidity, and something else needs to change.

Rivals of Aether (and commons) [Swearing The Novel]

I’m a day late, I’ve been up to stuff and traveled a little while to do some things. Yes I’m being vague but you don’t even want to know the details, because who cares about me? Barely anyone cares about my opinion. So, ON WITH THE REVIEW!

Rivals of aether is smash bros. Oh sorry, LIKE, smash bros. But 2d sprite based. It’s alright I guess. I thought there was gonna be more to it when I bought it. Maybe a larger “campaign”, because story modes for games like this are only just fights with specific characters and specific points. But you only do the main characters then on big “boss” fight, and that’s it. I know it’s a game meant to be played with others like a party game but I can never get 4 people to play it at the same time. And playing with just one other person usually ends up having a skill gap of some kind. So really all I’m saying is, it’s a party game meant to be played with 4 people. Any fewer you might not really get your money’s worth. It’s all fluid and fine, but not to much to do on your own to warrant buying it for yourself.

Killing Floor 2 [Swearing The Novel]

Lock and load fuckers! We’re gonna kill some zombi-I mean, uhh, humanoid abominations that are mass cloned... yeaaaaaah.

So I’m not a gamer who has a stand off genre he protects from everything. Nor do I care if your game is story focused or the story takes a back seat to just be a game for fun. The reason I bring this up is because killing floor 2 has lore... BUT FUCK THAT WERE HERE TO EXPLODE MUFUCKAS!!! *explosion* DAAAAAMN! YOU SEE THAT BITCHES LEGS FLY OFF!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Ahem, sorry, got a little exited. Killing floor 2 is the second killing floor. ;^) How the game works is you’re dropped into a map alone or with others, and you have to survive either 4, 7, or 10 waves, with a boss being on the 5th, 8th, and 11th. How you do this is by using weapons that match your chosen perk. There are 10 perks. Some very different some similar. Making it easy to find a play style you enjoy. You gain levels and kick more ass the higher you get. Recently they’ve even allowed you to prestige perks to get you a cool looking icon that’s looks nice when an enemy pounds you into soilent green. They’ve also added a system where you can power up lower level guns to make them more viable in later waves, so if you like how a lower tier weapon feels you can make it better over the waves. They’ve done a lot to make this game as fun as possible, and I do believe it is fun. It may be disheartening to be 8 waves deep into a 10 wave game and everyone gets they’re ass kicked so hard they’re eyeballs rocket into the sun. But that’s the nature of the game. To take a phase from my dark souls days. Got gud, level up and try again. The need goal is never to win, but to level up enough to be able to take on he’ll on earth difficulty without being turned into a steak dinner. So yeah I recommend this game. Do I need to start doing numeric scores for people? I feel like some people gravitate more toward numeric evaluations of games and music........ Fuck it, it’s an 8/10!

Fallout 4 [Swearing The Novel]

IM ON TIME! HAHA! ITS 10PM BUT IM ON TIME! *sweating*

Alright so I’ll begin this with a TL;DR because fuck you that’s why.

TL;DR Fallout 4 was doomed when it removes key features that were in older Bethesda fallouts.

Alright, now let’s talk about this. I’m upset, so upset that I spent so much time on this game. Now granted, I’ve spent way more time on older Fallouts, so it’s not really a waste to me. I like some things about 4, because you and I both know the gunplay in the older ones is hot baked ass. But they had a certain charm, and the RPG elements allowed you to have different builds and feels. In 4 a lot of the creativity is lost. Your character almost always boils down to the same thing. The removal of a karma system sucks. It’s no fun being good or evil if your not being graded. Might as well just do both. Never stop stealing because you can’t lose out on certain perks, and the only thing you would lose is maybe an ally’s respect. But you could just get a different one. Or not use one at all because they never really help much. The DLCs were lack luster, one DLC literally reminding me of lookout point from Fallout 3. Mika World however was actually my favorite fucking thing to come out of it. Incredibly fun and the only reason I come back to play it. Mods are pretty good but without the feeling of newness or build creativity it just gets boring. The settlement building probably should have been brought up later in the game, and also not have been so prominent. There’s so many of them, when you could have done just 5-6 in different biomes and made them the best they could be for each one. Instead of just small crappy ones everywhere. I hate that it was basically a downgrade from the others with a better gun system. Compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas I see less reading to replay 4 than o do the others. So many others have this opinion, but I still had some fun with 4 while it lasted. And still play it sometimes. I just hope they do better with the next big fallout title. 76 sounds like it’ll be fun for awhile, but I’m ready for a new single player Bethesda game. Looking forward to the new elder scrolls and fallout 5.

Literally a day ago Ariana Grande released this song. I just heard it. And I was pleasantly supris-just kidding it’s ass.

So like, I don’t dislike Ariana by any means, I actually think her voice is nice and she could definitely sing. If only she’d actually sing something. This is suppose to be a feminist anthem. Woo, another one. Even going as far to have a part where she throws a hammer at the glass ceiling... Because you know, females can’t hold any position of power, or rise to CEO positions, except for all the women who have done so. Look I’m not here to talk about feminist issues or how I feel about any of it, I’m here to say Ariana Grande talking about them half naked, fingering a hurricane in her music video shouldn’t be empowering to anyone because she’s not in anyway showing anyone she’s a strong women. This song for me is about the same level as Megan Trainer skinny shaming by making a big girl anthem. She made the big girl song then lost the weight. Ariana will make this demise song about girls being strong and independent then go back to being a little, holding her mans hand while licking a lollipop, dicknotized and shit. What I’m saying is if this song came out of someone like Beyoncé you’d know it was from a strong women, someone who is completely independent from Jay-z. Looking for the gif above all I did was type her name and most of the images were her and Mac Miller. What other songs has Ariana done? The only one that comes to mind is when she told people to stop focusing on her looks but to focus on, her other stuff. But here she is again, half naked, with screaming gophers. Dark Souls III [Swearing The Novel]

Hello, yes, it is me, on time like I said. I am committed yes. Thank you for showing up friend.

I am an unwavering dick slurper of dark souls 3. Older fans may say they enjoy the others, but I only played 3. And most likely wouldn’t have if someone hadn’t bought it for me. I fell in absolute love with it though. And I still play it today. I think it’s learning curve is incredible, as I’m still learning and getting better. So honestly, this “review” is less of a criticial analysis. And more of a, “I wish dark souls 3 was a human being so it could be inside me every night.” I genuinely think anyone can play it as well. Dark souls 3 is incredibly easy for new people. Seeing as how I can play it. :^) I’ve even recently released a guide for new players on how to just steam roll the beginning and git gud. I have even started getting better and fighting invaders. Dark souls is a different kind of fun. I love it so much, and wish more people could experience the beauty and wonder.
