Clouded Predictions
Kyle’s expression suddenly went serious and his eyes darted from Chris, to Ike, and finally back to Chris. He moved to stand up; before feeling his body aching. He used the desk to catch himself and hold himself up. “Are you sure that’s what the well was saying?” He knew of the council finding out about Clyde’s escape, and the mess he cleaned up to ensure the townspeople didn’t hear that their king had “gone soft” as one had so blatantly put it. However he was surprised and relieved that Clyde was the only human they thought he had let go.
"It doesn’t make any sense though. Both sides have been quiet; bar a few riff raff deciding they’re above the law. Why on Earth would a war be predicted?" He breathed out and let his body sag a bit onto his weakening arms. His gaze however was still focused on Chris. "Have you told anyone else about this? If not, then we should keep it that way for now. Until we can come up with a plan at least. The last thing I want to do is waste all our resources on something that isn’t completely true." He turned his attention to Ike there after. "If you do think the same however brother, I suppose we should move to the meeting room and begin immediately."
As he opened his mouth to give him an unclear answer, the doors to the room opened once again, a guard walking in and not to far behind was DogPoo. By the look of immense worry on his face could only mean that he had been to the well, and his hunch was right, as the seer began to explain what had been shared with them as the guard left. So far, the only ones who knew of this impending doom was himself, the seer, Ike and Kyle. If the king didn't want to tell the council just yet, then Chris guessed he could keep this away from them. "I believe the saying, quiet before the storm is in order here. We don't know what those humans are up to, and we don't know why either."
The blonde shook his head no, as to who else knew. As long as it was just the four of them they should be just fine. "Understood. When we actually know that they're actually going to do something there's no real reason to have our feathers ruffled." This was actually turning out much better than he envisioned in his head. The dirt covered elf pushed him forward past Chris and said that if they really were going to start making plans, maybe he could help out in someway. "What do you mean?" With a scoff he asked if he had completely forgotten, he was the only one who had the closest 'bond' with the well. If they needed more information he could run out and ask it.
