Things I've decided about FFXIV animal based races because where's the fucking flavor, squenix?
All Miqo'te have fangs and slit pupils. It doesn't make sense to me that it's one or the other, so they all get both.
Au'Ra aren't like fully cold blooded more like... cool? They need to be warmer than most usually, and while colder climates aren't detrimental for them, they can be if they're not careful. I don't just mean snowy places like Coerthas and Garlemald, but generally cooler places overall can be bad without proper prep.
Related, Au'Ra love warmth and will usually take any opportunity to seek the warmest place near them. They're partial to cuddling for this reason.
All races with fur shed. Miqo'te, Viera, and especially Hrothgar have shedding "seasons" and sometimes can be more prone to shedding when nervous, scared, or otherwise stressed.
Viera have many rabbit behaviors such as stomping when frustrated or angry, flopping when settling down in the presence of those they trust, and even on occasion doing binkies though these would look drastically different from the way actual rabbits binky. Their ears also follow rabbit body language. They have a habit of draping themselves over people they care about, especially if said people are shorter.
Hrothgar are Big Cats as opposed to Miqo'te being house cats. They can't purr! Lots of people have their Hrothgar purring, but big cats are physiologically unable to do that! They have different sounds they make, like "chuffing" when they're happy/excited.
Miqo'te can purr, and just like with real cats, the sound varies in pitch and volume depending on the person. They also have a tendency to be lactose intolerant, though this varies also from person to person.
Miqo'te are known for ridiculous sleeping positions that look uncomfortable.
