Jasper played fetch for the first time in his life yesterday. He picked up a ball at the dog park and I randomly threw it. #tbt to racing biathlon last weekend. It was my first race carrying the rifle and my first race shooting standing (neither of which went particularly well) but it was fun to challenge myself. I feel stronger skiing this winter than ever before and as the weather starts to change I’m looking forward to how that will translate to cycling. Sports have kept me going through lockdown and I’m super thankful to live where we could keep doing them. It is getting harder and harder to get this boy to come inside. He much prefers to sleep on a pile of snow with the breeze in his fur than on a dog bed by the fire. Jasper and Sinka are best buddies, but they are very very different dogs. Where Sinka is serious and alert, Jasper is easy going and relaxed. Doing things with Jasper feels like we are on a team. Especially while skijoring he is very tuned into me. If I skid he’ll slow down, if I up my effort he will as well, he is constantly checking over his shoulder for where I am. He does the same on walks, always keeping an eye out. Jasper doesn’t want a lot of cuddles, but when he does he will come up and ask and I’ll sit on the floor and pet him while he goes to sleep on my lap.
