I’ve been checking the map of tickets still available for SHINee’s fanmeet in Chicago and I have to say I’m really disappointed so far. It seems that everyone is scrambling to get P1 - P2 tickets, and if they’re going to be on the balcony, they don’t even want to bother going. This is so hard for me to wrap my head around. I don’t think a lot of people realize what an opportunity this is for US Shawols, and just how incredible this fanmeet is going to be.

For one thing, SM is probably testing the waters to see how popular SHINee is in America. We want them to have more events here in the future! What are the odds they’ll hold a solo concert in the U.S. or Canada if they can’t sell out 4,400 seats?

For another, I found this picture taken from the balcony of the Rosemont Theatre, where the fanmeet is being held. It’s still a great view and even the “worst” seats a few rows behind this will be able to see SHINee on stage with the naked eye, to hear their voices as they speak directly to us fans. That’s an incredible experience I can’t really describe, having seen them before at the LA Kpop Fest. I still don’t regret it at all, even though SHINee’s appearance was short and my seat was far and VERY obstructed. It was amazing to see SHINee live. This fanmeet is going to be even better, a lot better.

Thirdly, SHINee’s fanmeets are always worth going to. They’re always so funny, sweet, and engaged with fans. Think of the selfies with the audience! Think of the games and their happy faces! #SHINeeinChicago is going to feel SO close and intimate, much more than a concert. Not to mention it’s their very first fanmeet in North America! This is truly a once in a lifetime chance and missing it if you have the ability to go would be a huge mistake in my opinion!

This could very well be a “tryout” for SM to see if SHINee has enough fans to hold a solo concert in America. Let’s show SHINee that they’re loved and show SM they have fandom power and should visit the US again!
