RULES.
01. THE BASICS. this blog is mutuals only, selective, divergent in some areas and medium - sporadic activity. if you are expecting a lot of replies then this might not be the blog for you! i also post a lot of ooc and headcanon posts, which i know isn't always everyone's cup of tea. you're more than welcome to not follow back or blacklist my ooc tag.
i am very duplicate friendly and have a verse where lanaya is a companion. i love other inquisitors and lavellans and would love to figure out a way to write with them all, if you're also dupe friendly. but i won't follow first just in case you're uncomfortable. i also will want to go 50/50 with inquisitors, aka we write in both companion verses so it feels equal. if you don't have a companion verse, that is okay, i just don't feel comfortable forcing lanaya into a companion role all the time but i also don't want to be "hogging" it since i'm sure both of us want to make our character the inquisitor. (unless they both can! which is also a good option)
if you don't have a fantasy verse i won't follow back. general fantasy is easy enough, but i haven't figured anything out for lanaya outside of some vague modern verses and a wip scifi verse.
i don't usually follow first. i'm very anxious and darpc is still very new to me. i'm more likely to follow people who are mutuals of my mutuals, but not always. sometimes it takes me months to finally follow someone. i just! get nervous about following people a lot and nothing can be helped until i get more comfortable with lanaya's character and get a better sense of her (even if she's existed in my head long before i ever made a blog for her).
if you don't follow back within a few days i will unfollow. i understand some take time to follow back but i'd rather not accidentally interact with your blog when we're not mutuals and you're mutuals only, it's kinda embarrassing ngl. if you unfollow, please softblock or hardblock - DO NOT UNFOLLOW. i am also going to attempt to keep this blog low stress and keep the follower amount lower so if enough time passes with no interactions ( ic / ooc / reactions to posts ) i may unfollow -- of course sometimes it takes time to write together if you're not engaging in my posts at all, then that's another thing entirely. i don't want to be another mutual to add to the follower count. i am also not going to follow every blog my mutuals make and you also don't have to follow all of my blogs! especially if it's a fandom i don't know about or i just don't have a character that goes with them ( and vice versa ). if you have multiple blogs i'm also entitled to softblocking any of them and remaining mutuals on others, especially if as time goes by i don't see interactions happening.
02. PSA. many of my characters are strong and don't like to be backed into a corner. don't provoke them unless you want to deal with it ic. and please don't woobify lanaya. she IS naive at times and TRUSTING, but she's thirty+ in most verses. she's strong and capable and has a naive wonder about herself. both are true at the same time. she is not a child nor has she been one in a long time. just because she isn't a mage doesn't mean she's not powerful in her own right.
03. MAINS AND AFFILIATES. i mostly practice mains and affiliates but i don't do exclusives. affiliates is someone who's intertwined in my characters development and characterization but aren't exclusives. i'm not against having multiple mains of the same character, as i see every version and dynamic different since everyone may see said character in a different way! however, i don't get in the habit of " collecting " muses, since i also personally don't like the feeling of being " collected ".
04. STAR WARS + MARVEL PSA. i have been in and out of both rpc's for awhile and i'm really not here for drama. i just want to write. i am a bit more selective with star wars blogs, just due to swrpc. mcu blogs i'll also be somewhat picky about but thats mostly in related to the fcs that make me uncomfortable. i am also very against whitewashed maximoffs, hydra and sabra blogs. if you don't explicitly state / make it clear your maximoff muses are romani then i might be a bit hesitant to follow first, since i've been surprised in the past to find what i thought was a comic-based but they used the mcu fcs.
05. PERSONAL BANNED FCS/FANDOMS/CHARACTERS. won't follow anyone who writes hp characters. any and all hydra muses, hydra!cap, n*zi affiliated muses, hp muses and hp verses, stranger things muses + verses. there's a lot of problematic face claims within the mcu that i just won't want to see on my dash, but i'm not going to list them all.
06. SHIPPING. i loooove shipping, i love ships !! and most of the time, it doesn't take much for me to ship something but i am usually a bit hesitant to message first, just due to normal anxieties and not being sure if someone is as interested as i am (i'm even kinda hesitant with shipping calls ... i just get nervous, okay!!). chances are if you ship it, i do too!! or the idea of it!! i just won't do any weird ships. i ship my lavellan with solas but i will never pressure someone into it!! ( i'm actually quite hesitant to even suggest it to people because i'm shy/anxious about being perceived as force shipping or pressuring someone into it without meaning to ) i'd rather build the dynamic and if we feel like they're better as friends or a " never happened but there's lots of tension " then that's okay too! i will never immediately go for a romantic dynamic with them unless we've discussed it either in dms or through ship interest checks. i also ship lanaya with other inquisition characters and can easily ship with anyone. i'm also okay with shipping with multiple versions of a character. like i said above, there's so many different concepts and takes on a character that if i were to ship with more than one solas or (insert character name here) the dynamic may be completely different from the other one. i will typically only ship with a handful of versions of a character as i don't want my writing partners to feel they're "just another ship" or filling a wanted ship with no regard for the character/mun or the time put into the character.
solavellan is the worldslate, so that'll be assumed in most threads. i'm also open to writing in any of my other ship verses (fenris and felassan are two of the main ones but any of them are fair game). solavellan won't be assumed against another solas unless we've talked about it.
07. ACTIVITY. i am a neurodivergent person who deals with depression, anxiety, working full time, etc so i'm not always on. i don't even regularly do replies even though i want to, so sometimes it's just not going to happen. please me patient with me. if you genuinely need me to be consistently active this might not be the blog for you to follow and that's a-okay!! my reply lengths will also vary -- i absolutely can write a lot and used to write more novella but pre-indie i started cutting it down because my partners wrote less, but i'm looking to get back into writing longer replies. that being said, you never have to match length (of course don't reply with a one liner, but if i do multiple paragraphs i don't expect you to do the same or have the same energy).
08. NSFW AND TRIGGERS. i do not have triggers of my own but i will always try to tag them. my usual format is trigger cw or trigger //. i have a lot of mutuals so it's impossible for me to remember everyone's. if i ever forget just send a message on/off anon or dm me and i'll fix it asap!! nsfw content may also appear, including smut, but i am more selective about it. as a general rule, smut will never happen if a character is under 21 -- but given lanaya's age i won't ship with a character under mid 20s during dai ( or write smut between them ) or 30s during dav. by the time of veilguard, lanaya is 40s+, so i cannot see her being interested in someone under late 20s, though at least 30 is preferable. i don't mind age gaps especially given that one of my favorite ships is solavellan, but sometimes i can't see it.
09. FREE PALESTINE. FREE GAZA. VERY ANTI-ZIONIST. FUCK ICE. do not follow if you're pro-israel. also no homophobia, islamphobia, racists, tr*mp supporters, anti-semitism, transphobia, jkr supporters, pro ai / use ai at all and so much more.

some brief symbolism explanation in the randy dowager cover btw :
she's wearing an off the shoulder dress based on the one elle fanning wore (yes, the green one with tons of flowers from the maleficent premiere i think??). it's a simple dress. but underneath is a lace version of the high neckline top that elves wear, especially in alienages. i thought it would be cool that the high neckline could change based on formal wear, work, sleepwear, casual, weddings, etc.
lanaya is wearing a fancy dress with long sleeves and holding a lyre, which she cannot play with long sleeves. that's on purpose. the cover is supposed to be embellished and romantic rather than actually making sense.
leaves detailing on the lyre = dalish. sylaise = music. sylaise = lanaya’s vallaslin.
her hair is done up with ribbons in her hair, which is especially popular in orlais. elves especially wear their hair like that in the val royeaux alienage, where lanaya is from. i've put emphasis on the ribbons / colorful cloths the alienage decorate the vhenadahl with but they also use it in their hair, which carries similar weight. still symbolic / part of the culture there.
her antler hair accessories. she wears these a lot. it's a staple. lots of lanaya as the golden halla / halla imagery.
I had to spend an unexpectedly huge amount of money on my car recently, and it blew through what little savings I’ve managed to scrounge up. I know everyone hates seeing these, but I could really use help in case another emergency or expense comes along.
I’m currently unemployed (applied to over 700 jobs at this point) so art is my only source of income. Hi me again I'm 99% sure the tax return I was supposed to get this year is actually going to be 0, I was hoping it would have been enough to carry me over for a few months. I'm at over 1k job applications, I don't know what else to do. Please help.
My car got broken into. Fortunately there were no valuables inside and the car itself wasn't stolen, but I won't know for a few days how much repairs will cost. I'm barely scraping by. Please help.
I wound up paying a little over 800$. i'm not up to making a new post, so it's gonna be the same thing from 6 months ago. the repair shop still has my car, but hopefully they'll be done this week maybe. i was able to build up a tiny bit of savings but those were quickly depleted once more. can someone help me with rent this month please.

thinking about this for post - trespasser (eventually). i don’t usually go with her having the wrist crossbow like in the red jennys trespasser ending but that’s also a strong possibility.
writing up an alienage thing and, i absolutely think that no two alienages are the same. different cultures, different communities -- but a big thing is that the way the vhenadahl is decorated is very different. val royeaux uses ribbons, beads, colorful cloths, kirkwall uses paint. alienages close to ports/the coast could use seashells and seaglass. the vhenadahl is a physical representation of the alienage -- it's its heart and a forever reminder of who they are. some alienages don't decorate, some might not even have one. maybe there's even an alienage where it's symbolic so it isn't an actual tree but something else in the middle of the alienage. maybe one is dead/dying.
been thinking about lanaya + fox imagery but also halla imagery bc they’re a sort of juxtaposition. the halla is more obvious - it’s the animal that the dalish revere — she’ll wear jewelry that look like/are inspired by/actually are antlers in her hair, she also has a scarf with halla embroidery. she might not have the ghilan’nain vallaslin anymore, but lanaya’s association with and deep respect for the halla is obvious.
halla have many meanings in dalish clans ; they are guides, they pull the aravels from place to place, the emerald knights used to ride them into battle. you cannot get a halla to do something it doesn’t want to do. a halla would rather fight to the death then demean themselves. they’re also very prideful. a halla knows who it is and won’t tolerate being told that they are less. [ loosely from a dai codex ]
fox’s have a compete different attitude than the halla. fox’s are quick, cunning, clever, adaptable. fox’s symbolize using cleverness to outwit your foes rather than brute strength or malevolence. to outfox someone is to outsmart them. lanaya also doesn’t really wear anything that could nod to a fox, except for a pendant she wears. so, like a fox, she is subtle, clever and quiet. nobody knows she’s the fox hiding in plain sight.
