Oh god, I forgot to ask this is just a one minute thought I just came out.
1. Does this comic get official dub? And any cases of needing voice actors? Or you let others dubbed it for you? (Or both.)
2. Weird headcannon, not really related to your stuff but I always think that KB universe, their animals are just a food theme (generally like food items combined with animals, food items that you mostly see in topping or flavor of coffee beans)
3. Any world building that shows different areas of this KB AU that differentiates from original?
No problem, here are my answers! :]
1. This fanmade Killer Bean project is planned to remain a comic for readers, so there are currently no plans for an official dub or voice actors. One reason is that voice acting could cost money, and another is that the project is still in development and it’s only being created by two people (we’re still building the story and the concepts together).
That said, I’m totally fine with other people dubbing future comics for fun! I think it’s exciting to hear how different people interpret the characters in emotional scenes. The only thing I ask is that they must request our permission first then give a proper credit to the creators of the comic (which is us!).
2. I see! I actually had a similar thought before too, but it was difficult to make that idea fit naturally into the worldbuilding :[
Because of that, I prefer Jeff Lew’s original concept more — the strange alien crab-like creatures with antennae that drop egg loot when defeated. Oddly enough, that absurd design feels more believable in the Killer Bean universe than normal chickens would. It fits the weird charm of the setting really well.
3. Since this project is inspired by the wider Killer Bean franchise (including the games), there will be multiple biomes such as Arctic regions, deserts, and more!
If Killer Bean travels far enough, he may also encounter different types of beans beyond coffee beans — “Non-Coffee” beans (so far we got Cocoa bean, Salt bean, Black Sesame bean, and Soy bean) with their own homelands, cultures, and conflicts. Some may wage war to conquer other regions, while others fight to defend their own territories.
