Hiya moots! I'm going to be creating a new account/blog not tied to this one (aka not a sideblog). I won't be deleting this account because I'd like to be able to refer to it for referencing anything I ever liked (hence why I tag everything). So if you get a follow from a new account with reblogs similar to the ones I have now, it's most likely me! You can dm me to confirm.
I'm okay - I just want a fresh start! Many of my interests/views have changed since I created this blog (and honestly it's too much to retag and/or delete a bunch of stuff). Anyway, see you guys! <3
Update: This blog will live as an archive for my own personal reasons, but I will no longer be posting/reblogging. I will check this blog for the next month in case anyone is interested in establishing contact outside of this site/app. For that purpose only. I will not be using my new blog either.
This site used to be about having fun & meeting like-minded people. I can't be on this site for more than a minute before I see some kind of discourse or hate. Groups pitting each other against one another because they're not as oppressed as the other? The harsh reality is, no one is ever going to completely understand each other. Everyone is so different because there are so many things that make a person the way they are. Some people misunderstand, some people are ignorant, and some people don't care. It's not nihilistic - it's realistic.
I've stopped using labels and felt like I needed to hide how I really felt for so long because I was scared I would be lumped in with a group of "bad" people. I've learned that the "good people" are just as hateful and spiteful as the "bad people." I've had people I thought were friends send me hateful messages for no reason other than I was ignorant about something that they took personally. I don't want to be friends with people like that. I will admit that I was like that once, and I hate that I was. The nicest and most genuine people I've ever met don't use tumblr like their lives depend on it or don't use this site/app at all. Some opinions I see online are so radical that it's like "no wonder people think you're unhinged." Which is NOT something I want to be thinking or saying. Good and bad is so subjective anyway. And the death wishes some people on here have about people they don't like? I think wishing death on someone you don't like or understand is pretty concerning in itself. Even thoughts like "I hope they suffer" can be a bit...too much for me to feel comfortable seeing as much as I do on here. I shouldn't be feeling anxious for wanting to share my story - but I am! I so badly want to speak out in case there's anyone out there who feels the same and needs to know that they're not alone. Growing up and surviving is difficult and anxiety-inducing enough as is. No one going online to be passionate about their interests needs the extra weight of how toxic these spaces can be added onto all that anxiety life throws at everyone all the time anyway.
In case you read this far - if you don't like someone, block them! Move on. Live for yourself, but don't take out your own personal grief on others. And if others don't want to understand, leave them be, and focus your time on yourself or your peers who do want to understand.
