Logical reason to be bothered by Rachel Dolezal
First off, I wanna start off by saying this. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING WHO YOU WANT TO BE. It sucks that it has taken us this long for people to come out as who we wish to be... in America. Because in China and Japan, people dress like unicorns and fairies on the regular and no one questions it.
If you don’t know by now Rachel Dolezal has broken the internet with her racial transition, you know, like Robert Downey Jr in Tropic Thunder only difference is people are really angry with R’chel Dolezal. That’s her new name, right? No, I guess we’re still calling her Rachel.
Most white people are mad with Rachel, and when I say white people I mean people who watch Fox News and trust it as a creditable sources of unbiased news or secretly watch Fox News for “the truth” because they feel its morally wrong for someone to change races or... no that’s pretty much it, whites* want whites to usually stay white.
Black people... well the angry black people are mad because of white privilege, if you’ve been living under a rock these passed few months you’ve been missing a whole lot of world progression. Namely, white people switching teams Bruce becoming Kaitlyn Jenner... That’s right Kaitlyn, if you’re going to change your sex you do it right and fall in line! But that’s besides the point. In media the to most remarkable stories are Bruce Jenner transforming into a woman and a white woman Rachel Dolezal transforming into a black woman. As progressive as both stories might be, coming from Americans, I ask you, are they really?
We all know the luxuries of being white in America and if you don’t Google ‘White Privileges’ and I’m sure you find several articles on the matter, but what if one of those privileges were never mentioned because they were never performed? Like acceptance to body modification, I’m sure body modification is already a thing, but I ain’t no doctor and don’t know the correct vernacular for what ever transforming into a lesser is. Yeah, lesser as in White people can become Black, Mexican (Louie CK) or a woman and for some reason it’s easier to accept than lets say a Cuban man to bleach his skin white and get blue eyes *couch* Sammy Sosa or even the king of pop to allegedly bleach his skin, I mean c’mon. He’s the KING of pop. But I digress, it is a privilege for Rachel Dolezal to grow up with a white family, in a white home, with at best white struggles and somehow she liked or 'related' more to black culture. That being said kudos to her and helping us out, I’m assuming she’s helping out the black culture, I mean no one becomes the president of NAACP without helping out some blacks* along the way, right?
I’m just saying at no point will there ever be a dark skinned human in this world that can go to an officer or anyone for that matter and say "I identify myself as white, so treat me accordingly." and be accepted as white. Same goes for Kaitlyn Jenner, it’s easy to come out and say you identify as a woman when your job is not a risk and you really have nothing to lose, it doesn’t make you brave that just mean you have more freedom to do what you will, you’re like Robert Durst of the transgendered community. It's easy to like and identify with a culture when you're really not getting the backlashes that comes along with it. But in all honesty, I would like to say that I am happy that America is progressing, even if it's white first. Usually it takes years for even the higher class to be accepted by-- **This just in Rachel Dolezal has resigned as President of Spokane NAACP** http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/06/15/414655045/rachel-dolezal-resigns-as-president-of-spokane-naacp Damnit America! *Whites; Traditional white people, you know the ones that want thing to go back to "the good ol’ days”. *Blacks; Those who identify and are treated as African Americans
