A/N: this was actually supposed to be a drabble for a request but I deviated a lot from what they requested so I didn't think it was right to post this under their ask đ but nonetheless, i hope you'll enjoy!
You woke up to the night outside your window, a soft breeze dancing its way through the thin curtains. A heavy weight stirred to your left and as you looked, Druig was still sound asleep. His arm over your stomach and his face adorably squished against the pillow. Slipping out of bed, you put on his shirt and made your way to the kitchen. Looking at the clock, it was only 5 in the morning, you had plenty of time to watch the sunrise.
It was spring now, the seasonâs cold winds now becoming warmer and warmer as each day comes and goes, but that didnât stop you from shivering from the early morning breeze. Spotting Druigâs leather jacket hung behind a chair, you grabbed it and put it on. Druigâs familiar scent immediately wafted over to you as you walked back to the kitchen to grab your tea.
Passing by the numerous framed photos of you and Druig, you took out the tea bag from the mug and added just the right amount of honey. As you leaned against your kitchen counter, the scent of the tea wafted in the room and your eyes landed on a particular photo on the wall.
It was at a New Yearâs Eve celebration, the clock having just struck 12 am. There was a flute of champagne in your hand, the liquid sloshing around only to be frozen by the capture of a camera. You and Druig were kissing, delight clear in your face. Druig wasnât a fan of clichĂšs but he indulged yours of a New Yearâs kiss that night. Looking at that photo warmed up your heart and a grin made its way to your face.
Taking a sip from your tea, you stood back up and made your way towards your favorite place at the apartment.
Odd as it was, your apartmentâs fire escape was your favorite place. Especially in the early morning. It held a certain serenity that couldnât be found anywhere else in New York City. While the hustle and bustle of the city never quite stops, it was a lot calmer when the sun had yet to rise.
The morning winds flowed through your hair as the city slowly came to life. You sat at one of the steps, facing the city skyline. A creak of metal from behind you broke the sounds of the city. Glancing back, it was Druig. He mustâve woken up while you were making tea.
âWhat are you doing already up, mâlove? I woke up to a cold bed.â He pouted after saying the last sentence before taking a seat beside you. He was wearing the sweater you got him for Christmas, the one he jokingly swore he would rather die than to wear the horrid thing. To be fair, it was pretty horrible but hey, whatâs Christmas without its horrible, cheesy sweaters?
You jokingly rolled your eyes, âI didnât wake up that long before you, Iâm sure the sheets were still warm.â You paused, taking a sip of your tea. Druig took note of his leather jacket on your shoulders, loving how it looked on you.
âAnd anyway, I wanted to see the sunrise today.â You gestured to the sky, the sun now making its slow ascent. The skyâs onyx blanket was slowly turning to warm oranges and light blues, stars hiding away with the moon.
Without a word, you offered your mug to Druig. He gave you a grateful smile before taking a sip and returning it back to you.
You relished in moments like these. Moments where it was just you and Druig sharing quiet intimacy that sparked your skin and warmed your heart. He looped his arm around yours, warmth radiating from him and protecting you from the cold.
Time seemed to slow down during moments like these. Everything becomes just a touch more vibrant.
âDo you remember our first sunrise together?â Druig asked, his hand now intertwined with yours. You nodded your head.
âIt was in Babylon wasnât it? At the gardens?â Your mind digging through countless memories with Druig.
âIt was, you had a nightmare that night. So you went to the gardens to clear your mind and get some fresh air,â Druig said, eyes distant as he recalled finding you that day.
âYeah, you told me something that day that Iâll never forget,â
Druig smiled, kissing the crown of your head before you rested it on his shoulder.
âDays will always come and go. So the best thing we can do is to move with it, one foot in front of the other,â
As the sun rose and a new day began, you and Druig basked in each other, happy and grateful for the steps each of you took. Because it brought both of you here, in each otherâs hearts â holding love that spanned centuries.

Summary: Your relationship with Druig has been a long one, spanning over thousands of centuries⊠yet it takes your fellow Eternals 7000 years to piece it all together.
Warnings: nothing but fluff really, dialog heavy.
âI think thatâs them,â you signed happily to Makkari, bouncing giddily in place as the sounds of your fellow Eternals echoed through the halls of the Domo.
Makkari leaned back in her throne-like chair, smiling as they all filed into the room.
You stood from your seat, happily greeting your unusual family.
âHow was your trip? Not too bad, I hope,â you asked, eyeing Thena worriedly over Kingoâs shoulder, noting how both Ajak and Gilgamesh were missing.
Kingo let out a throaty chuckle pulling you into his characteristically warm embrace, âit was⊠well⊠eventful, but weâll talk about that later.â
You nodded, noting the solemn message behind his words.
âThe most challenging part was recruiting leather jacket over there,â Ikaris interjected, pointing at the man you had missed the most.
His eyes were already on you when you looked over, a smug-looking smile hiding behind his stone-cold exterior.
âBet you used your movie star charm to win him over, eh Kingo?â you laughed, elbowing him slightly. Kingo only looked at you, raising a surprised brow, but laughed lightly.
âYeah yeah, youâre almost as funny as him,â he dismissed with a hint of sarcasm.
You shook your head, leaving them to converse on their own, enjoying how the chatter of everyone faded to the background as you made your way toward the smiling mind controller.
âMy beautiful, beautiful angel,â he grinned, pulling you into a tight embrace.
Even after all this time, countless centuries, he still brought a small giggle out of your mouth and butterflies to your stomach.
His arms were tight around you, rubbing his hand up the expanse of your back through the t-shirt youâd stolen from him.
âDid you miss me?â he whispered as you buried your face in the crook of his neck.
A small huff of a laugh escaped you, âIâve only been gone a week.â
âAnd that means you canât miss me?â Druig questioned, feigning hurt.
His hand gently landed on the back of your neck, pulling you from your hiding spot. Druigâs forehead rested against yours.
âI certainly missed you, my dove,â he whispered, leaning in to connect your lips in a loving kiss.
As soon as your lips met, a silence washed over the room, drowning you like a tidal wave.
âWhat are you doing?!â Kingo gasped; his jaw was on the floor. The rest of the group slowly looked over to see what the source of Kingoâs surprise was.
You turned your body, removing yourself from Druigâs embrace.
Druig raised a questioning brow, crossing his arms over his chest, his body touching yours from behind. âKissing my girl..?â he questioned, giving the team an odd look as they all stared back completely dumbfounded.
Silence filled the room along with an awkward tension that puzzled you.
âYour girl?â Sprite broke the silence, looking back and forth between yourself and Druig, an unreadable expression on her face.
You let out a small awkward laugh, âyeah? Why are you all being so weird?â
âWeâre the ones being weird?âŠ- I actually canât tell if youâre joking or not,â Phastos waved his hands wildly around as he spoke.
You gazed behind at Druig, inviting him inside the complicated world of your mind.
âDo they actually not know?â you thought, blinking at Druig with a raised brow.
âI think not, my dove,â his voice echoed in your mind, his hand finding a comforting spot on your shoulder.
âI donât understand⊠weâve never hidden our relationship⊠weâre wearing wedding bands,â your thoughts flowed across the invisible bridge into Druigâs mind, a small smile cracking on his face.
âSometimes they just need it spelt out,â Druigâs face was smug with a smirk. You giggled lightly at the dig directed at your fellow Eternals - you loved them, but sometimes they really were dense.
Your telepathic conversation ended at the sound of a throat clearing.
âYou do realise we can see you even when you do that,â Ikaris groaned, crossing his arms over his chest as they all kept observing you and the man behind you.
âSorry⊠weâre just surprised you didnât know,â you laughed lightly.
âHow long has this been going on,â Kingo asked, pointing between the two of you.
Your mind travelled back and forth between the countless memories of yourself and the love of your eternal life: his gentle words, the soft kisses and touches. You had never doubted his affection; he was so open and fully devoted to you; it surprised you that throughout your 7000 years on the planet, it had gone unnoticed.
âHmm, I think around 100 years after we arrived⊠and then we got married sometime during the 16th century.â
â1534, my love,â Druig reminded softly.
âRight, sorry,â you gave him a gentle smile, placing a hand on top of his, apologising for your forgetfulness.
âWait, wait, wait! Youâre married?â Phastos almost shouted.
You shrugged your shoulders, âwhy did you think we always travelled together?â
It was quite an amusing scene, watching the wheels turn in each of their heads. Kingo, Phastos and Sprite were obviously the most vocal because of the shock, whilst the rest of them silently worked through the information - with the exception of one.
âItâs not like it was a secretâŠ- Makkari and Ajak came to the wedding,â you explained with a slight scoff.
âYOU KNEW? And you never told?!â Kingo signed, pointing accusingly at an amused looking Makkari.
She shrugged, smiling innocently, âI thought you all knew,â she signed back, giving you a small wink, knowing how much you all loved watching Kingo get all worked up.
âIt was never a secret; weâre sorry it felt that way,â you said gently, trying to dissolve the weird conversation regarding your relationship.
âWeâre very happy for you,â Sersi butted in, coming over to hug you. She squeezed your body before disconnecting and taking your hand in hers to examine the gold ring that decorated your ring finger.
Thena made her way to you as well, giving your cheek a soft stroke, âwe should have known⊠with the way you look at each other, it couldnât have been anything else.â
As the girls fawned over your wedding ring, begging for the story of the day, Druig slowly backed away, leaning against the wall; he enjoyed watching you converse with others, the way you smiled and the subtle expressions that ran over your face, painting a clear picture of the direction of the conversation.
.
After the initial shock wore off, the conversation dispersed. Your point of interest automatically shifted to Druig, who had moved to the small ledge seat, munching on a chocolate bar.
âMy dove,â he smiled as you sat down next to him, pulling another bar from his jacket pocket and handing it to you.
You thanked him quietly, trying to unwrap the sweet snack heâd kept for you.
âThat was something,â you grinned, taking a bite of the chocolate.
Druig laughed lightly, âitâs obvious why it had to be us⊠youâre the only one who tolerates me, and youâre the only one Iâll tolerate.â
âI think I more than tolerate you,â you whispered softly, placing your hand in his.
âThat you do, my love.â

Synopsis: A series of moments between Druig and his partner who's a witch. What adventures will they come across?
Series Masterlist âą Main Masterlist
For as long as youâve known, you have always been alone. A nomad who could never settle down but was always willing to help others. Maybe thatâs why you found yourself in Tenochtitlan, helping the wounded regardless of what side they were on. Tendrils of purple slipped from your fingers as the warriorâs wounds began closing, skin melding back together. When you stood up, you felt your head swimming and body aching for rest. You must have healed at least a hundred people by now but for every half dozen you healed, at least a dozen more would get themselves hurt.
You knew your limits and you were tiptoeing way too close to the red line. Looking around, all you saw was red and orange â blood and fire. A frown made its way on your face, humanity and its greed staring right back at you. With a sigh, you pulled your hood up and slipped back into the shadows.
Youâve done your part, it was time to rest. Back to the little cottage that you called home for now. You started walking back but then sudden silence filled the air. Had war not been going on just a few seconds ago?
Glancing to your right, the man was as still as a statue, weapon dropped to the ground and eyes glowing gold. Then a sudden energy of power hit you, knocking the wind out of your lungs as you stumbled back.
They were here.
Being a nomad meant you traveled far and wide, but stories traveled too. Carried by wind and water, those stories eventually reached you. They were of ten beings â Eternals â more powerful than the entirety of Earth combined. Each had a unique skill that helped them defeat monsters known as Deviants. Over time, their stories have become folklore and youâve never encountered them in your travels.
Until now, that is.
Quickly gathering up what little belongings you brought, you ran like hell. Though you knew that you had no real reason to fear them, you were also not the regular human they were supposed to protect. An immortal witch may be something they could be wary of and you didnât want to take that risk.
Eventually, you reached your little cottage. The fatigue swiftly made its presence known as it swallowed your body whole, enveloping you in a warm embrace that wasnât necessarily unwelcomed.
At least youâd get a good nightâs sleep tonight.
Somewhere just a couple hundred yards from your cottage stood an Eternal with eyes glowing gold. Curiosity painted on his face as he stared in the direction you ran off to. Shaking his head, he deemed it a question for another day. For now, he had to protect those he had taken under his wing. And with a step towards the forest, he knew it was the right thing to do.
Full offense but your writing style is for you and nobody else. Use the words you want to use; play with language, experiment, use said, use adverbs, use âunrealisticâ writing patterns, slap words you donât even know are words on the page. Always you
Druig x gn!reader
Word Count: 900
Warnings: angst, insecure reader, hurt/comfort(?)
A/N: hi! thanks for sending this in! i hope you enjoy and sorry if it hurts too much đ
You knew that Druig wasnât meaning to hurt you, he could never do that to you, but insecurities can be such a gripping thing. Despite being friends for over a year now, the romance between you two was just starting to bloom. So it both excited and terrified you when he introduced you to the other Eternals â his family.
It was at Sersi and Daneâs Christmas party when you met them. You could never quite forget the look of shock on all their faces when Druig introduced you and the barrage of questions they asked.
Not too long after the party started, Druig left your side. At first you didnât mind, this was his family after all, one he hadnât met up with in centuries. But as the night progressed and you nursed your third glass of wine, there was a crushing feeling in your chest as Druig conversed with the others. You had tried getting his attention, subtle tugs at his sleeve and passing him some food around the dining table but it was all for naught.
The thing about being one of the only two humans in the room is that itâs suffocating. You felt too much like an outsider looking in. Strained smiles were etched on your lips as the Eternals tried including you in their festivities. However, your attention was on the two people across the room.
Druig and Makkari sat across from each other as they talked, your limited knowledge of sign language making it hard to know what they were talking about. The both of them seemed to be having fun though, shared smiles and laughs emitted from their inside jokes and stories that spanned centuries.
It made you realize just how human you actually were. Just an ordinary person whoâs only a blink of an eye in an Eternalâs lifespan.
âHey, are you alright?â Dane suddenly came into your view, which was now blurry. Only now noticing the wetness on your cheeks, you quickly wiped your tears away and took a deep breath in.
âYeah, Iâm fine Dane.â You give him the closest thing to a genuine smile. âThe party was amazing but I think Iâm gonna go. Itâs getting quite late anyway.â And with that, you excused yourself and left the house.
The bitter winter cold nipped at your face but that didnât stop the warm tears from rolling on your face. Only the sound of your boots hitting the pavement echoed in the otherwise quiet neighborhood.
âY/N!â His familiar voice yelled out on the street before he ran towards you. Quickly wiping your tears, you turned around and was greeted with Druigâs panic-stricken face.
âHey, love, whyâd you leave the party?â He asked, trying to enter your mind to figure out whatâs wrong. He was shocked when he was met with a barrier in your mind, and it made him fear what heâd done wrong.
ââS nothing, Druig. Just wasnât in the mood for the party,â You mumbled, looking down on the ground and kicking some stray pebbles.
âThereâs something more, please. Tell me whatâs wrong.â Druig didnât believe you and pulled your face up to look at him. Your red eyes met his and his heart broke a little more.
âItâs really nothing, Iâm fine,â Quickly taking your head from his hold, you broke away from his stare.
âYouâve been crying, love. I donât think thatâs what âfineâ looks like.â Thatâs when you couldnât take it anymore. All the pain, insecurity, and exasperation snowballing.
âWhat do you want me to say, Druig?!â You yelled, breaking away from his gentle hold. âThat I was hurt when you left me alone the entire night? That you didnât bother to look for me when I left your side for too long? That I felt insecure because Iâm just an ordinary human when you can have someone so much more like Makkari?â
Tears streamed down your face once more, but you didnât bother to wipe them away. Druig looked at you apologetically, now knowing how much he hurt you.
âMy love, Iâm so incredibly sorry for hurting you. But please know that there will be no one better for me than you.â He tucked away a stray hair and gave you a smile, asking for your forgiveness. Though he didnât need to ask for it, you could never stay mad at him for too long. Still, insecurity is a persistent monster that didnât want to stay down.
âHow are you so sure?â You sniffled as Druig wiped away your tears. âIâm human, Dru. Iâm just a blink in your lifetime.â
Druig knew of your insecurities about him being an Eternal and you a mortal, so he reassured you at every chance he got.
âThat may be true, but in the thousands of years that Iâve been alive, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you, Y/N and it will always just be you.â Druig looked at you with so much love and adoration that you couldnât help the sob escaping your lips as you pulled him close and hugged him tight. He placed a kiss on the crown of your head before continuing to pet your head.
As you stood there in one of Londonâs stone pavements, the bitter cold of winter never seemed to reach you in Druigâs arms.
âLetâs go home, my love.â

A/N: hello !! this is my first time writing for Loki so i hope i got him right :D enjoy and take care of yourselves <33
You watched the wreath float away in the lake, the soft waves pushing it further and further away. Everyone else had gone back inside the cabin at this point, only you chose to stay behind. At least, thatâs what you thought. There was a soft touch on your shoulder and you didnât need to turn around to know who it was. The warmth he radiated grounded you and kept you from being carried away by your own mind.
âIâm truly sorry for your loss,â Loki said. Though he may not have been on the best terms with your brother, he knew how much Tony meant to you.
Tony was your rock, always has been. Ever since your parents died, he was always there for you. He was your mentor, your confidant, your other pea in the pod. Now with him gone, you felt that he took a part of you with him. Tears gathered in your eyes as memories flashed in your mind. From when he first took you under his wing, introducing you to Pepper, then years later to Morgan, to finally the look of relief in his face when you said that he saved the world.
âTony Stark was truly a great man, the world will miss him.â You just nodded, eyes still distant and looking at the lake. You were afraid that if you spoke, you would start crying and you were damn near tired of crying. Loki understood that, he was one of your closest friends after all, so he just gave you a small smile and stood by your side.
As dusk grew nearer and the temperature dropped, the both of you went back inside the cabin. Most of those who visited had left by now, only Tonyâs closest friends stayed behind. However, before they could get a chance to talk to you, you went right up the stairs, holding Lokiâs hand tightly. Though, you didnât need to do that, Loki would follow you to the ends of the universe no matter what.
You led the both of you to the guest bedroom, where you were currently staying. A sigh left your lips as you closed the door. Despite not wanting to cry anymore, pain and grief struck you and tears fell from your eyes. Sobs wracked your body as you leaned against the door and Loki slowly moved towards you. His heart broke at hearing your pain and so he did what he thought would be best.
Loki wrapped his arms around you and gave you a tight hug. Out of instinct, you dug your head into his chest, seeking comfort in his being. Tentatively, he ran his fingers through your hair to comfort you, the reassuring repetitiveness of his touch giving you waves of calm.
As your sobs dwindled down into sniffles, Loki kissed the crown of your head but didnât dare let go of you as you tightened your hold around him.
âEverything will be alright, my dear.â His soothing voice reached your ears as he continued petting your head. Small butterflies flew around your stomach as self-awareness slowly got back to you. You had your suspicion on what this feeling is but it didnât scare you as much as it did back then.
However, grief still held strong but that's okay, you can dwell on this feeling another day. For now, you were content to be wrapped in the safety of his arms, swaying to the sound of each otherâs heartbeats.

It happened in Babylon, during one of the numerous festivities the locals liked to throw for the Eternals. You were in your armor, leaning on a wall as you watched the illusions Sprite liked to flash in the sky. She was telling Gilgameshâs story tonight, the local language rolling off her lips as her hands moved about. A smile danced on your face as you chuckled at the changes Sprite made to Gilâs story.
Suddenly, you felt someone snatch something from your pocket. Turning back you were met with Druigâs cocky smile and in his hand was a small red gem.
âSo, how did you manage to get a hold of this?â Druig played with the gem, repeatedly throwing it up in the air and catching it before you could.
âThatâs for me to know and for you to never find out,â You said, arms crossed and with a smirk on your lips. Druig seemed to take that as a challenge as his eyes glowed a faint gold and you felt a pressure in your mind. You let him have his fun but before he could break your mental barriers, you brought your hand up and flicked his forehead.
Stunned, Druig blinked rapidly and stared at you as you tried to hold in a cackle that was so close to escaping.
âDid you just flick me?â He asked, bewilderment present in his voice and you couldnât hold it in anymore. You burst into a laughing fit at his reaction, having to clutch your stomach. Some of the locals (as well as the other Eternals) turned to see why you were laughing so loud, but you could care less about their curiosity.
âOh, youâre in for it now, beautiful.â Playful aggression escaped his lips and you stopped laughing just in time to run away from him. He ran after you immediately, his cocky expression now a boyish grin as he ran after the beautiful Eternal who left sunlight in their wake.
You let out a squeal as he caught up to you, wrapping his arms around your waist to stop you from escaping him. You didnât bother trying to escape anyway as a kaleidoscope of butterflies blossomed in your stomach at his touch.
âIâm going to need compensation for the damage you did to my forehead,â Druig whispered in your ear, his chest so close to your back that you could feel his heartbeat. Turning around, you wrapped your hands around his neck, eyebrow raised and a mischievous look on your face.
âAnd why would I need to do that?â You looked into those stormy eyes of his, slowly getting lost in them.
âWell, we canât have the Eternalsâ telepath head hurt now can we?â He asked, a rhetorical question really. You knew well that Druig can function just fine with a minor headache, but you decided to indulge him nonetheless.
âNo, of course not. We canât have that.â You brought your hand to his cheek, cupping it and bringing his face down.
And you kissed his forehead.
For the second time that night, you left him stunned. His cheeks started turning a faint pink as he opened his mouth before closing it again, words escaping him.
A giggle escaped your lips, your hands playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. Druig shook his head, a smile appeared before he leaned down and connected your lips.
â
(Somewhere in the courtyard stood Phastos and Kingo, unimpressed at the two lovebirds. But the two of you ignored them, too lost in the being of the other. Too lost in love.)

Summary: You and Druig get a quiet moment after Sersi and Dane's New Year's Eve party, reflecting on the thousands of years you'd missed apart and wondering if you'd be together forevermore.
WC: 1.9k
A/N: here's a fluff fest based on taylor's new years day. I love his song, I love druig...it checks out. Let me know what you thought âĄ
"3...2...1...Happy New Year!"
Most of your hearing hadn't returned when you woke up on new years day, the ringing still prominent as you buried your head into the soft pillow. The ringing lead to the insatiable headache which was all brought on from the ungodly amounts of liqueur you consumed the night before. A pained grumble escaped your lips as you rose from the bed in Sersi's guest room. Your blurry eyes scanned the room; Kingo was passed out on the floor below you, Sprite cuddling the other white pillow beside you.
7:38. The clock on the bedside table read in glowing red letters, only adding to the pain behind your eyes. Your party dress that was shimmering from the morning sun was still intact on your figure, you wish you'd taken it off when he gave you the chance. You could still hear the soft moans of his, ceasing when you told him that you shouldn't be doing that. It was supposed to be left in the past.
You made your way out of the room, carefully stepping over the snoring Eternal below you. Your bare feet connect with the cold hardwood floor of the hallway. Gold and silver balloons, glittering streamers, and forgotten noise makers cover the floor in front of you. Sersi really did know how to throw a party; you chuckle to yourself, pretty sure that everyone was still passed out in her living room.
Said living room looked worse than the hallway; empty cups and bottles litter Sersi's nice apartment, your friends strewn out on the long couch and armchairs. A fond smile tugs at your lipstick-stained lips. That smile quickly faded when you took the mess in, you knew the party was great and the trash was worth it, but you couldn't stand looking at it.
Making your way into the kitchen to grab a trash bag, you learned that you weren't the only Eternal awake. Druig sat by himself at the small kitchen table in the corner, nursing a cup of coffee. His brown hair disheveled, a few pieces of shiny confetti in the strands, his tired eyes glued to his phone. Until he heard the door open and saw you standing there in all your glory. "Morning," he smiled up at you.
His raspy morning voice, mixed with his thick accent made your knees weak. Your eyes land on his parted pink lips and it took you back to last night, "Morning," you breathe, barely managing to get the single word out.
"10 seconds!" Phastos shouted as he looked outside the window, a massive billboard displaying the countdown outside their high-rise complex.
Druig turns to you with a playful smirk, his fingers fiddling with the sequins of your dress. The touch of his hand on your lower back ignited a fire you hadn't felt in so long. "I hear people kiss at midnight now," he whispers in your ear, the smell of cheap beer tickling your nose.
"Is that what humans do now?" you laughed, swirling around the strawberry at the bottom of your champagne glass. The abrupt sounds of cheering, fireworks from across the street, and the poppers from inside the apartment startled you. Druig was able to calm all that with a swift movement; the hand on your back drew you closer, his soft lips covering your own. Confetti and glitter fell round you, your eyes flutter shut and you let your lips glide along with his.
"Couldn't sleep?" Druig questioned, voice muffled from the coffee cup. You run your tongue along your burning lips as you pull out a large black trash bag from the cabinet underneath the sink.
"The sun was too bright, and my head hurt," you respond, "You're up early too?"
Druig places his cup down with a small clink against the wood, "I rise with the sun, you know that, m'love." His face shifted as he called you the loving name he once used all the time, his eyes flickered away and back to his phone.
You hummed quietly, trying not to act like you saw the sudden look of regret. You nodded in his direction and left the room wordlessly, clutching the plastic bag tightly in your shaky hand.
"Where to start?" You asked yourself as you surveyed the living room again. Bottles. You shrug your shoulders and start cleaning off the coffee table, trying to keep quiet as the noisy brown bottles hit the bottom of the black bag.
You could finally almost see the bottom of the mess when you heard the clang of beer bottles behind you. Turning around you saw Druig bending over, collecting numerous cups and bottles in his arms. His blue eyes look up at your worried glare, "Just wanted to be useful," he joked, making his way over to you.
You smile and hold open the bag for him, your eyes watching his every move. Absentmindedly, your hand reaches up and comb through his hair, glitter falling into the bag. His head whips up and you retract your hand, "Sorry," you mutter.
Druig laughed, "Ehm... Sprite had too much fun with the confetti bombs last night. Thanks," he told you through his laughter. His laugh. If you were able to capture it on tape and hold it close you would have. It was the type of laugh that you were able to recognize in the most crowded of places. You missed it.
Druig giggled boyishly as you land on the soft, well-made bed. His torso hovered over yours while his face buried itself in the crook of your neck, his warm breath tickling the soft, sensitive skin. His fingers slide up your exposed thigh, slipping underneath your dress. "Druig," you giggle, arching your back.
"Yes, Y/n?"
"You giggle when you're drunk," you pointed out. Your observation only made him laugh harder, letting his chest fall on top of yours.
You took a step away from him, looking to the ground to avoid his glace. Polaroids were scattered on the rug. With a grumble you bent over, resting your half-full bag next to you. You pick up the first one you see; Sersi getting a piggyback ride from Phastos. Cute, you remark in your head, setting it carefully on the table.
The image on the next one knocked the wind out of you. You were looking at the camera, laughing at something the person behind the camera said. Druig stood closely next to you, lazily holding a beer bottle in one hand while the other was wrapped protectively around you, his forehead resting on your temple, the lines his face made when he laughed on full display.
You almost felt sick looking at it. Not because it was repulsive, but because you missed him. That photo proved that the closeness you shared didn't go away so easily over the thousands of years. No matter how much you forced yourself to leave that behind. Like he left you behind.
Druig could feel something was wrong with you. He watched closely discarded the polaroid on the ground and walked out to the balcony, the sliding door closing with a soft click. He walked over and saw the photo of you two together, picking it up he swiped away the loose confetti covering your faces.
He had a photo similar to that one tucked away in a box back in the Amazon. He held on to the memory of a picture Phastos took of you two when he invented the camera. It was a candid one of you two laughing. Phastos was going to throw it away until Druig stepped in, asking to keep it. It was the only thing he kept after Ajak let you all go. But he should have kept you. The regret kept him up at night, the photo only soothing the pain a little.
Tucking the polaroid in the back pocket of his jeans, he carefully stepped over the garbage so he could make his way to the glass door. You didn't look at him when he stepped out, the cold morning air hitting his face. The man stood a good distance away from you, looking down at the street as you stood together in silence. You placed your hands on the stone balcony, fingernails tapping the railing.
He watched people walk home from their parties, guys struggling to walk a straight line, girls with sore feet carrying their heels, he also noticed a few people out walking their dogs. "I like that picture of us," he finally spoke.
"Keep it," you respond shortly.
I already have a picture of us. Druig bit the side of his cheek, hands coming out of his pockets to rest upon the railing. The sounds of the London morning help soothe the silence.
After a while the silence became uncomfortable, "Are you going back to the Amazon after this?" you asked, turning your head to the side soo you could look at him.
Druig shook his head, inching closer to your side. "No," he managed. "I'm going to join a few of the others to find some of the other Eternals out there."
After all this time he was finally going to leave that place, why couldn't have been this easy back then? Your eyes dart away from him. His velvety voice asked what you were going to do. You didn't know anymore. You longed to go with Druig... you always wanted to. It killed you when he left the first time, barely giving you a chance to accompany him. "I-I felt like going too. That's if you'd want me there..."
There's a shared look of understanding between you. Before you knew it, Druig was standing at your side. His hand cautiously covered your own, his fingers wrapping around yours.
He gently squeezed your hand three times. I love you.
You removed your burning hand, moving your whole body to face him. He looked down at you with regretful eyes, the alcohol-fueled confidence from last night not there to help him out. You didn't get a chance to talk about your past relationship on the Domo, or fighting the deviants that raided his village. You almost missed it when Ikaris tried to kill him. "I've never stopped loving you."
"I should have held on to you tighter," his voice sounded like it was breaking as he admitted it.
You felt a prickle behind your eyes that weren't from the hangover, "I shouldn't have given up so easily, Druig."
"I'm sorry," he whispers.
You sniffle and take a step closer, "We both made mistakes."
"I don't want to make that mistake again." Druig wrapped his arms around your shoulders as you press your head into the center of his chest, your hands sliding around his thin waist. He covers the balls of your shoulders with his palms to gently push you away.
It was muscle memory from the night in Tenochtitlan, you grab his face and kiss him soundly on the lips. The last kiss like this was when he left you, and when you let him walk away in that fire. It was eager the way his lips moved with yours, he missed it as much as you did. His hands roamed your back while your thumbs pressed into his cheeks. He held on to you tightly as you deepened the kiss, the tip of your tongue touching the softness of his bottom lip.
Sure you kissed last night, but this was so much better; it was a promise of a future together, on the Domo, the Amazon, another planet, London.... where ever. As long as it was you and him.
i loved your druig fluff but how about some angst where he and the reader fight because the reader is a mortal?
Of love and gashes
Druig x gn!reader
Word count: 1.2k
Warnings: mention of wounds and scars, angst
A/N: sooo this got super long but as soon as i started writing, i just couldn't stop aksjdals i hope you enjoy this! <33 (and sorry for any broken hearts after this)
It all started with a particularly nasty gash from an animal you were hunting in the forest. You immediately walked to the healer of the village after the successful hunt. Not long after you arrived, Druig came rushing into the little hut. Once he spotted you, he practically ran to your side and examined the wound the healer was currently wrapping.
The gash ran through your entire forearm and hurt like hell. Luckily, it wasnât too deep but it still caused both you and, from what you can tell, Druig to be extremely concerned by it. Those stormy blue eyes of his met yours and you gave him a pained smile.
âAre you okay?â He asked, his eyes shining a faint gold. You could feel him in your mind, giving you waves of calm that you were grateful for.
âIâm okay, my love. Itâs just a gash, Iâll be fine.â You held his arm and gave it a squeeze, hoping to alleviate his panic.
As an Eternal, itâs at moments like these where Druig remembers just how fragile you and your overall mortality are. That gash could quickly become an infection and, if not treated quickly, it could become a fatal wound. Druig didnât want to think about it, but it was always at the back of his mind.
After the healer declared that they were done dressing the wound, Druig pulled you into a tight hug, being mindful of your arm. You hugged him back, burying yourself in his chest. His familiar scent entered your nose and helped you relax. You stayed in that position for a while, in each otherâs arms â basking in the presence of the other.
Over the next few days, you noticed how protective Druig has been. Always not too far from you, like a moth attracted to a flame. You expected him to do this, of course you did. Whenever anything harmful happened to you, the Eternal would always stay by your side the next few days. But somehow, this was different.
One day, as you were preparing for another hunt, Druig accompanied your hunting group, something he rarely does. Itâs been a month since the accident happened, but Druig kept hovering near you and now he was joining you in your hunt. You didnât mind that Druig joined the hunt; however, he started putting you on the back burner, telling your fellow hunters to take the kill instead of you.
As the hunt progressed, you slowly got more and more annoyed at Druigâs actions. So, before he could say anything about it, you drew back your bowstring and struck an arrow straight into a deerâs heart. It whizzed past Druigâs body and barely missed him so he turned around to see who shot the arrow. His eyes met your rageful ones as you placed back your bow on your back.
Druig opened his mouth but didnât manage to say anything as you quickly turned around and ran back to the village. He mumbled a curse as he saw your back run off. Turning to the other hunters, Druig called the hunt off and ran after you.
He couldnât find you in the village so he went to the only other place you could be. Pushing back a branch, there you were, seated on stones and your legs submerged in the pondâs waters, your bow laying on the grass. Druig approached you and sat beside you, placing his legs under the water as well.
âWhat are you doing here, Druig?â You asked, voice cold but an undercurrent of hurt still resonated in it. You couldnât bring yourself to look at him, but you felt his eyes on you.
âIâm sorry, my beautiful, for my actions. But I promise I was only trying to protect you.â He placed a tentative hand on your shoulder but you shrugged it off, letting out a scoff.
âProtect me.â Sarcasm dripped off your voice as you recalled the past month after you got that nasty gash. Nothing more than a scar now.
âDruig, for the past month you have been stopping me from doing the most mundane tasks. For the first few days, I understood that. I knew that my body needed rest but as soon as the healer cleared me, I thought you would let me do my tasks again.â Tears gathered in your eyes from the pent up frustration thatâs been building up. The knuckles of your hand turned white at how tightly you were gripping the rocks you were sitting on.
âIâm a hunter, Dru. One of the best hunters this village has, but youâve been putting me off from hunting for so long. And during the hunt today, you didnât even let me get my own kill.â Finally, you looked into those stormy blue eyes of his. Conflict, concern, and hurt present in them.
âLove, why are you being like this?â You finally asked, exhaustion seeped deep into your bones. The weight youâve been carrying for a few weeks was finally off your chest.
âI really am just trying to protect you.â His voice strained, as if he was holding himself from saying anything more.
âNo, Druig. Thatâs not just it, I know thereâs something more to it. Just say it, please.â You felt that he was still hiding something from you, something you knew should be addressed before it all becomes too much. Rage flared in Druigâs eyes.
âYou want to know the truth?â He grabbed your forearm and pointed at the bumpy scar.
âThis may nothing be more than a scar to you, but to me, itâs an ever present reminder of your mortality. To me, itâs a ticking clock that reminds me of the limited time we already have that could be cut even shorter if you arenât careful.â He let go of your arm, voice shaky but anger still present in his eyes. You knew that anger wasnât directed at you but emotions can cloud rational thinking so it still hurt.
âBut you canât stop me from living my life!â Exasperation blossomed in you, the past month coalescing into this.
âIf you don't want to be reminded of our limited time, then why donât you just leave?â You regretted your words as soon as they left your mouth but your pride didnât allow you to take them back. Druig flinched at what you said, so unnoticeable that if you blink, you would have missed it.
For a moment, there was only silence between the two of you. The natural sounds of the forest filling in the emptiness. Then Druig said the words heâll forever regret.
âFine, Iâll leave.â He stood up from the pond, turned around, and left.
You watched him go, there was no hesitancy in his body as he walked away. Tears freely fell from your eyes now as you let out a heart-wrenching sob. You brought your knees up and cried into them, wishing to take it all back.
As Druig walked back to his hut, he was crying too. Right from where it all started, he wished he could take it back.
Maybe thatâs when you got a gash on your heart, something that not even the healer can fix. It would scar over one day, but that day wouldnât come for a long while. So for now, you walked around the village with a bleeding heart with no one to tend to it.
And Druig watched you from the sidelines, hoping to one day be the one to heal your broken heart.
But that wouldnât come for a long time. And time, well, time was everything.

can you write a Bucky request of him finding the reader baking late at night?
âĄCookies and Tea
Bucky Barnes x gn!reader
Word count: 556
Warnings: none :) just fluff
A/N: hii !! i really enjoyed writing this so thanks so much for sending it in! <33
Bucky woke up with a jolt, sweat beading down his forehead as he woke up from another nightmare. He reached his arm out on the bed, hoping to find you and your warmth but was instead met with cold sheets. Before he could panic any further, he heard some noise in the kitchen and your soft humming as you moved about.
Walking towards you, he made sure to make enough noise so that you know heâs there. Bucky didnât want another incident where he startled you too much, the memory of you flinching from his touch still a bit too raw.
âHey, doll.â Bucky wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder. You hummed in acknowledgment before turning around and leaving a peck on his lips.
âHey, what are you doing up so late?â You asked, concern in your eyes as you played with the hair at the nape of his neck.
âJust another nightmare,â He replied, tightening his grip around you as flashes from his dream played at the back of his mind. You gave him a sad smile, understanding rich in your face as you knew how much nightmares can affect someone.
âBut, what are you still doing up?â Bucky looked over your shoulder and saw a blob of dough resting in a bowl covered in plastic wrap.
âJust baking cookies.â You frowned as incidents from the last day resurfaced. âI have some things I need to keep my mind off too,â
Before Bucky can question you any further, you unwrapped his arms from your waist and slid to a cupboard.
âSpeaking of which, wanna help me bake?â You offered Bucky a rolling pin from your outstretched hand and he gave you a grateful smile, taking the rolling pin and placing it on the counter.
âSure,â His Brooklyn drawl warmed your heart as he poured flour on the rolling pin and the dough. You stood at his side, watching him roll out the dough. It's moments like these that fill your heart up the most.
Moments where he isnât an Avenger and super soldier and you werenât an agent for SHIELD.
Just Y/N and James.
Two people who wore their love for each other on their sleeves and would do anything for the other.
As the cookies went into the oven, you stood up and Bucky gave you a mug. It was your favorite mug, a ceramic project you made years ago that you painted blue with gold flecks sprinkled about. Of course, self-made ceramics donât come without their flaws and you smiled when you saw the paint streak of gold that appeared after Bucky accidentally bumped into you that day.
Muttering out a thank you, you inhaled the scent of the tea and let it warm up your insides. Honey and chamomile, your favorite tea. You looked over at Bucky and saw him nursing his own cup of tea as well. Gently grabbing his hand, you walked the two of you over to the couch before sitting down.
Buckyâs arm naturally found its place around you as you placed your head against his chest. The both of you watched the night sky as you let the wind from the open window carry away your worries, at least for tonight.
â
(âSo? How are the cookies?â
âTheyâre perfect, doll,â)
