Hana's a quirky graphic designer living and working in Bratislava, Slovakia. She spent marvelous six years studying graphic design in Dublin, Ireland. She believes that magic exists in everyday life. When she's not designing, she loves making costumes and spending her time collecting interesting ideas, pictures and memories, and she loves meeting new people. She believes it's every designer's responsibility to use their skills for the betterment of society and that's the reason she's an active member of Open Design Studio. Pattern

“Enjoy summer to the fullest with your baby close to your heart. Let these Clouds Calm you both during the warm days thanks to its softness and super-b cooling effect. Due to the Tencel blend and its high percentage this wrap is great for small babies and capable to carry toddlers as well. The Tencel fibre is very soft; this can make the wrap appear a little bit furry – which is not a flaw but a natural characteristics of the material.”

This design was co-created with my two sons who taught me - more people, more things in our house and there is never enough places to drive with toy cars. In our household we enjoy multipurpose things. This landscape-designed wrap was created to carry your baby, serve as a blanket AND provide a play mat for car toys to drive across. Sestrice, Slovak baby wrap brand, who commissioned this pattern, named the pattern Našou krajinou, loosely translated Through our country. The name for this design comes from well known song of Slovak band Para, who kindly agreed.

We present a new collection of FLOWER CHILDREN and its four models - HOPE, SMILE, JOY and LOVE.”

This was a description of new collection of kids slippers that was released in 2020 during the covid pandemic.

I have been asked by Milash (Slovak blanket and kids slippers brand) to create pattern for their new collection of 2020. The theme flower power or flower children was response to the hard and scary pandemic times when we didn’t know what to expect. To bring hope, joy, love and smile to all children and their parents. Fundraiser

Logo and poster for a NGO Pedal fundraiser campaign. Under a relatively long-established scheme, private individuals and corporate entities in Slovakia can decide to assign 2 percent of their income taxes to a specific non-governmental organisation. These are allocated to support their activities. In this case NGO Pedal was fundraising money to renovate and built the bicycle and pump tracks. The logo is hiding 2 % inside the bicycle. Logo was published in various colour combinations according to clients needs.

Book Design

“World According to Filko” is a book of texts by Slovak economist. Martin Filko was one of the most outstanding economist from the Slovak public life of last decade. The book consists of four parts - economics, economic policy, society and health. Packaging

Milash is a start up company creating unique and original baby blankets. The task from a client was to use their existing logo to create packaging and base the company identity on it. The packaging has to be easily altered according to colors of blanket inside. Main elements of packaging come from the shape of the logo - circle/dot. Circle is a soft shape that works well with small kids. It also represents the circle of life. These blankets are made to be with you for many years - from early childhood, through school trips, music festivals during your twenties to relaxing evenings in front of a movie. The branding also includes shopping bags, thank you and greeting cards as well as a promotional material for shops. Photo credit: Milash

Branding

IBM Fall Fest is a student festival organized by IBM Slovakia. The idea behind the visual was to use IBM elements but in a more young and modern way utilizing the name of the festival to promote speakers and musicians. The whole look and feel is a based on rainbow gradient that shows IBMs support for diversity that was also promoted during the festival by presentations and by the choice of musicians.

Booklet

Slovak Post bank were redesigning their logo and needed a book to introduce it to their employees. The whole look and feel of the book comes from the new circular logo that was proposed to bank. Book was presented to employees to introduce the new era of bank. It is based on ideas and pillars that bank stands on and wants to communicate them to clients. The main part of each spread is a word that represents the company with accompanying illustration based on the circular shape. Book has elements such as mirror, pop up pages, cut outs, perforated pages, mazes and also part of a book doubles as a notepad for employees so it is not only a book for shelf. You can find a page with braille language by which the bank wants to promote that is it here for everyone, no matter who the client is.

Booklet

Bratislava Volunteer Center needed to promote their work between pupils and students through experience of their existing volunteers. The book started as an online publication but at the end the center obtained budget for printing. Publication is square shaped and potential volunteer can read it from the beginning to the end or it can be used as an inspiration for everyday good deed. In the book you can find an inspiration why to be a volunteer and what can volunteering bring to you. Accompanying publication tied with this one was a book presenting the accomplishments of the organization that doubled as simple annual report.

Packaging

Bottled water Lucka is most sought for and best known water for babies in Slovak and Czech republic. After many years of having the same bottle, client decided to redesign the package of their bottled water. They wanted to use less plastic and become more economical and ecological. From the very beginning we agreed that the shape of the bottle should resemble pregnant woman with the decoration of water angel and wings that represents how clean and nurturing the water is. The thin “ring-waist” of a bottle helps steadier hold. Wings on smaller bottles work also as places for fingers so kids can grasp on it much easier while drinking. From the previous design we kept the lines that help mothers to see exactly how much water they poured out.

Catalogue

The ABW is distributor of paving and building fences and systems in Slovakia. They annually print out new catalogue to promote the products to their clients. In 2015 they celebrated 15th anniversary on Slovak market. The catalogue is divided in various categories separated with different colors for easier orientation in the book. At the back of the book are technical information on how to order and set the pavement correctly.

Book

“City chronicler of Pilsen” is a book based on a bi-lingual blog of a Wolftraud de Concini. In the beginning of 2015 Wolftraud was chosen to write chronicle of the city of Pilsen as a part of Pilsen 2015 - european capital of culture. The book is a collection of over 20 stories from the blog and all photos were created by the writer herself. Book is also bi-lingual and each page offers texts in czech and german language. Due to high demand the book had to be reprinted just after two weeks of first publishing.

Booklet

Beautiful couple deserves a beautiful wedding invite. Bride Karolina was set on having the whole wedding styled as Slovak traditional wedding with a modern twist. She had her mind set on watercolour invite. The typical flower at the end of august/early september is poppy, bright red flower. So we based the whole invite and whole style of the wedding around this flower. The newlyweds surname Supa which is also a slovak slang word for “great, amazing, perfect” so our save the date cards were inviting people to use #tojesupa (thats perfect) to accept the invite, to send any good wishes or photos for our newlyweds on social media sites. Seating Management web and mobile tool for IBM employees. In one click user can see who is in the office, find or change his designated seat for a specific day.

Parking@IBM is an app concept developed for IBM to help their employees to choose the right car park during the morning or afternoon rush. App conveys parking lot capacity information and brings it right to the pockets of all smartphone users.

Identity

Young company primarily devoted to spreading genre of stand-up comedy in the Czech Republic. Client was looking for a logo that would express the word radiant so the idea was to base their logo on the neon sign that is a part of a small clubs and places where stand-up comedy happens and many stand-up comedians started. Logo represents this scene but also it is elegant and modern and can work for other more serious projects that company plans to bring for czech audience.
