“You’re no longer bound by the future. Of course, that includes me too.”
“Despite that, I think I want to see you again.”
If Batman and Spider-Man switched rogues galleries none of their villains would last more than ten minutes against the new enemy
Batman takes down all of Spider-Man’s villains with ruthless efficiency and preparation
Batman’s villains are all like “TAKE ME SERIOUSLY DAMMIT” and Spider-Man is like “No 😜”
The Joker would have an intense hatred for Spider-Man because Spider-Man is actually funny
That was the exact thought process behind this post
In Gotham:
“Riddle me this-”
“I like knock knock jokes better.”
In New York:
Green Goblin is getting his ass beat by 12 orphans in spandex
the thing about being bullied for being weird as a kid is that even if you've always embraced being weird your brain is still always looking for the line where it's too much. you can be as proudly and intentionally weird as you want and you can love being weird but your mind is still convinced there's a point where you get too weird and people start treating you like a weird looking bug again. also it feels like you reach that point 500 times a day even if everyone you've spoken to today found you pleasant and likable and even if you're completely alone in your house with nobody looking at you at all.

Obsessed with this little freak and her single, barely-functioning brain cell. Deranged individual. Peak Inoue character. I'd say she's precious and needs to be protected at all costs, but honestly I'm way more invested in what kinds of messes she gets herself into.
Dude literally received death threats from Italian fascists for his research on Italian cuisine
Read this article here (no paywall):

There’s a dark side to Italy’s often ludicrous attitude towards culinary purity. In 2019, the archbishop of Bologna, Matteo Zuppi, suggested adding some pork-free “welcome tortellini” to the menu at the city’s San Petronio feast. It was intended as a gesture of inclusion, inviting Muslim citizens to participate in the celebrations of the city’s patron saint. Far-right League party leader Matteo Salvini wasn’t on board. “They’re trying to erase our history, our culture,” he said.
When Grandi intervened to clarify that, until the late 19th century, tortellini filling didn’t contain pork, the president of Bologna’s tortellini consortium (a real job title) confirmed that Grandi was right. In the oldest recipes, tortellini filling is made from poultry. “This is the reason why I do what I do,” Grandi says. “To show that what we hail as tradition isn’t, in fact, tradition.”
Today, Italian food is as much a leitmotif for rightwing politicians as beautiful young women and football were in the Berlusconi era.
With Kiva being the last Rider I shall watch for a while yet, time for a good ol' fashioned tier list ranking of all the Riders I've seen!
This is based on how I feel about the general quality of the show as a whole and how it works for me. If it was based off of how much I adore them, Den-O would be top and Gavv would be higher ranked. Decade would also be bumped a little bit more up as I rather like the core-cast.
every so often i remember how awesome the modern interconnected multicultural world is. i grew up getting to hear fairy tales from all over the world. africa, asia, europe, america. everywhere in between. i can have bagels for breakfast, curry for lunch, and ramen for dinner without even leaving the city limits. music and art and philosophy and technology that originated thousands of miles and years apart from eachother have come together and interwoven into something greater than the sum of its parts. its hard not fall into despair when thinking about the horrors but god. god the wonders.
you can have friends on the other side of the planet! neither of you even has to travel!!!!! you can just talk to them whenever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kamen Rider OOO
Episode 24: Memories, Love, and the Marine Combo
Anyone got a toku-rec for a sick gal looking to binge? We're going to exclude Den-O from this because I don't need to add "blorbo-from-my-show" sickness ontop of my illness.
Actors with multiple roles in Toku: Nakamura Yuichi (UPDATED FOR 2025)
Kiriya Kyosuke/Kamen Rider Kyoki (Kamen Rider Hibiki, 2005-2006).

Nakamura Yuichi is now the third actor to play a Kamen Rider, an Ultraman, and a Sentai ranger.
Donbrothers two ep impression
"Is that whole Rangers thing dead? Cool. I am going to make a show that is so unlocalizable."
...man am I glad I have seen Boonboomger to get a calibration of "normal sentai." Inoue's already beginning to flavor-blast me.
Evvvery kamen rider I've watched so far has had a moment where it's like. Haha yesss it's him, The Rider, look at him go, saving the city with his badass kick [stops and stares dead into the camera] but the fact that he has been put in a position that necessitates his badass kick is a horrific injustice. 'Noble' violence is still violence and it is poisoning him. He does his awesome sickass kick because he has to and nobody else can, and so he is strong and scared and lonely all the time. He is a hero and a sacrifice and every time he does his cool good kick it shatters part of his soul. War is hell. OK now see him do a flip on his sick bike FUCK YESSSS
Something I really struggle to get people to understand is that like. Sometimes there was no intentional homoerotic subtext, the author was just extremely misogynistic. Sometimes the author wasn't "secretly shipping" those two men, the author literally just hates women so much that they see them as being literally incapable of relationships with depth. Like this is kind of a big thing with misogyny actually. A lot of extremely misogynistic people truly believe that a man can only have meaningful and complex relationships with other men because they literally just think women are so inferior they only exist to birth children and clean the house. It's like when people say along the lines of "no one worships exclusively men quite like straight men do". It's just that phenomenon actually. That happens to be manifesting in a raging misogynist's writing. Writing a man character who literally only puts effort into his friendships with other men while completely ignoring his literal girlfriend or wife is actually an extremely straight thing to write. And that doesn't mean you can't ship those men or that there are no stories with actual intentional homoerotic subtext. I just think it's important to be able to recognize extreme misogyny in writing and acknowledge it without brushing it off and assuming good intentions when literally all evidence is screaming that this was a misogynistic writing choice and not a representing gay men choice.
And it's ALWAYS worth the reader honestly taking a minute to examine whether or not there's a perfectly fine female character existing there in the shadow of the reader's own previously unexamined gender biases.
