-Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā cameron was on a trip in san diego with her family when the outbreak happened, but the infection took her mother early on and she was forced to kill her father a few weeks later when he agreed to trade her and her younger brother to bandits to keep their supplies. from then on, it was just the two of them as they attempted to trek back home on foot after her brother lost the car keys. it had taken many weeks, but they finally managed to make it to san francisco in one piece. until they were separated by a horde of infected only a few days after arriving. itās been a month since then, but cameron hasnāt stopped looking for her brother and returned to crescent apartment because it was her home before the outbreak. she's owned the apartment for six months but technically has only been home for a month.
-Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā despite living in crescent where she can have a permanent place to lay her head and food thatās within reach, cameron learned on the journey home that she prefers being on the outside and searching for whatever she needs to survive. she loves to challenge herself when sheās out there to push past her limits to prevent her from getting soft. she often leaves because of this and to continue searching for signs of her brother, which can keep her away from the community for days on end. however, she usually tries to return with places to scavenge or supplies to make up for her time away.
-Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā she doesnāt mind being around the infected and fears them much less than most humans. however, cameronās aware that theyāre extremely dangerous and does her best to avoid them as much as she can when sheās on the outside. she just feels that theyāre truer to their nature and more predictable than humans are. since all they can do is kill her, she feels thatās a kinder fate than what she knows other humans do to each other.
-Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā cameronās very independent and doesnāt like asking other people for help often. while sheāll do it if she absolutely must since she knows not everything can be done by herself, most times she prefers to deal with whatever problem she has on her own unless she absolutely trusts someone. however, she doesnāt let this get in the way when it comes to her job. sheās more than capable of working together with others if she needs too, whether on a supply run or helping around the apartment building.
-Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā sheās never seen without her dog, danger. heās a large german shepard that she adopted a couple years ago, and he has been her loyal companion since then. with him being all she has left, cameron is very protective of him and only trusts those who have earned hers with him. these feelings are mutual for danger. heās become far more aggressive towards strangers and wonāt hesitate to attack if cameron is threatened. however, heās very friendly, gentle, and lovable to familiar faces and those who cameron trusts. he also accompanies her on the outside, assisting her in finding her brother, killing infected, or finding new items on supply runs.
-Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā she tends to be blunt and finds sugarcoating the truth to be disrespectful as well as insulting. cameron prefers to be brutally honest with others and hopes they do the same since she believes honesty is the best policy. unfortunately, she doesnāt realize her words hurt sometimes because sheās still learning to readjust to socializing after all the trauma sheās suffered. most times sheāll have no problem apologizing if itās brought to her attention that sheās hurt someone unless she feels they deserved it.
her honey sweet tone that was drenched in insincerity was so obvious to cameron that she could see it if she was blind. she had the displeasure of crossing paths with women like this in high school and was annoyed to see the attitude hadn't died with the rest of humanity. not that it mattered much to cameron right now. she doubted they were going in the same direction. cameron had woken up early to get a head start on searching for her brother again. now that the complex had been restocked, she could finally return to focusing on her inital task. "i wasn't planning to." cameron stared at her with furrowed brows, her tone dry and flat. she seriously doubted she would be the one to get hurt, especially not with danger by her side. eden always seemed like the dainty sort that belonged behind a wall and not out roaming the city. "i donāt care where you're going. weāre just at the same entrance. so....are you leaving now or not? "
"i'm not going out there with you." the words were quiet, just barely above a whisper, and yet, they remained stern as jaesung lay on the couch in the building lounge. over his face rested a book, one he had been attempting to read before he had been so rudely interrupted by the request. "you know what it's like out there," he grumbled, eyes closed beneath the book as if doing so would make the other disappear. the guard wasn't a fan of risking life and limb over trivial things and in his eyes, this was exactly one of those.

location: building lounge ( assuming there is one??? )
holding the plushy toy high above danger's head, cameron teasingly wiggled it. she watched as the german shepard kept his dark eyes glued to the toy, his tail wagging enthusiastically while he eagerly waited for cameron to throw it. "you want it, dang? then go get it!" she finally tossed the toy across the room, smiling widely as she watched danger charge after it. the time she spent with her dog were one of the few things that brought cameron genuine joy, so she tried to do it as often as she could. when danger returned with the toy, cameron retrieved it from his mouth and rewarded him with loving scratches behind his ears and a fond chuckle. "that's a good boy."
however, their playtime was interrupted when she overheard the complaints of a man a few feet from her and interjected without thinking. "i wouldn't take him out there if i were you. people like that don't do too well on the outside. ask a scavenger." she suggested to the other guy before he walked away. it was just a fact that not everyone could handle the harshness of the outside.
