I like the word “witchery” because of its linguistic similarity to “fuckery.” Witchcraft is fuckery; fuckery is witchcraft. They are inextricably connected in my mind and it makes me happy.
Brighid Mural
I randomly stumbled on this absolutely stunning mural that was just completed in Dundalk, Ireland!
It’s apparently part of a new urban art festival there and this piece portrays Brighid as both goddess and saint. The colors are absolutely stunning and I’m in love with it!

This reminds me so much of when I visited the Hermitage in Kildare. One of the sisters showed us around and sat with us at the Perpetual Flame for prayer and meditation. Before we left, I had to ask her the question that had been on my raised-Christian-converted-pagan mind for years.
“If you don’t mind me asking,” I asked, “how do you reconcile Brighid’s status as a Catholic saint with her origins as a goddess?”
The sister, whose name I wish I’d gotten, just smiled with a little twinkle in her eye.
“Oh child,” she said. “To know one is to know the other.”
"To know one is to know the other."
Hi Tumblr. It's been a long time since you've seen my face around here.
I never gave up on you. You've been a repository for my special interests forever - I just wasn't so public about my love for you. And I am sorry that it took the overt weirdness of every other social media app for me to return to you. But I'm here now, I'm weirder than ever and I hope we can be friends.
I know there are a lot more thirty-somethings here than in other places, and to you my beloved peers, I say hello, so glad to see you again. I'm sorry for the person I was back in 2009. She's long dead now, I promise. You're meeting a well-appointed remodel of her. From the ground up.
I write poetry and tell people about it now. I host open mics in fact! I have three cats. I live in a sweet little house with my husband. I am still obsessed with pirates (as you'll see by the multiple recent posts of Our Flag Means Death content). I am still weird about vampires, especially books about vampires. I live for a good karaoke night. I work in theater (I sell tickets). I am a loudmouthed, opinionated bitch when I have to be, and a gentle but firm bitch at any other time.
I have always loved this site and the collection of weirdos I've followed on here since those dark days of the mid-2000s. If you're still here with me, I'm so glad to see you. If you're not...you're missed.
Outlive the motherfucker. That's what you're going to do. Survive and thrive out of sheer spite if necessary. Live for the day that nature takes it's course and you wake up in a world that no longer has them in it.
Apply where applicable. Repeat as necessary.
No thanks.
