             I can see why Levi picked Petra for his squad. I can see it in all of             them, really, Levi has a good eye for character and strength but              Petra tips the scales of the team back in balance. She challenges              the brute force of her male squad mates.

             I’m not trying to suggest that Petra lacks the physical strength the             boys have, far from it. She packs a punch, she’s agile and fast             and determined and loyal just as they are. But she’s got more.              She doesn’t hide her compassion and kindness and care and it              makes a world of difference.

             She openly worries about her team mates and even soldiers              outside squad Levi. She’s the gentle touch to Levi’s bluntness.

             She’s the sunshine after the storm, hope after the clouds depart.             Perhaps I’m putting a little too much on her shoulders with this. She’s             merely human.

      observation is a skill of survival. every detail is important; the shape         of a face, the reactions, the mimics, little things that can tip her off         in future. Her habit of cataloging everything is on auto-pilot and she         long stopped concerning herself what people think of her stares.

        She blinks to break it of, smiles and relaxes her shoulders but she’s         still alert when she speaks.

i regret to do this, but while i’m taking up double shifts and over time at work i’m far too exhausted for writing. i still have muse so i’m not placing this blog on a full hiatus but my activity will be much like it has been most of the time here -- spread out.
