I MEAN.....
i got really mad at red today
this is literally one of the funniest things i’ve read today thank you
rock lee just… really is like the nicest boy. he really is just that sweet there isn’t a drop of malice or spite in his his entire body. he’s so good i love him so much and he deserves the world
Reminds me of the time they tried to claim she grow up in *this* house and was therefore a pampered limousine liberal.
The gas-lighting here is off the charts.
And now
So..uh funny story about that last part to this: Dude bro who post this on Twitter…is kind of a real fucking creep. Posts a lot of female DC staffers/government employees body parts and makes creepy comments about them. Also writes for the Washington Examiner (and still is as of writing this).
Go fucking figure.
People who have never struggled financially have no idea what it looks like. They think everyone who lives in poverty should be constantly covered in dirt and tattered rags. 🙄🙄🙄
I can’t tell you how many times people told me I wasn’t poor because “If you were, you couldn’t afford x thing,” where “x thing” was usually something I absolutely could not afford normally but either got as a gift, got at a massively reduced price in a garage sale or thrift store, or found somewhere for free. Some of my furniture for example is stuff people were throwing away despite being in perfectly good condition, like my TV. It’s one of those older box TVs that are absurdly big.
Owning stuff isn’t a sign of anything half the time. And uh, it’s not like she could go to work in rags! Lots of poor people have to buy or rent dress clothes for work. That doesn’t mean shit. It’s just how the world works.
Also that house they’re showing is so small and looks old? It probably isn’t worth much. But it’s also rural, so she’d HAVE to go to whatever city was closest for things like groceries or school, probably. How does that prove anything about her upbringing?
People really don’t know what poor is. Wow.
❄💙 Bella 💙❄
I own quite a few nice looking items of clothes. Some of them were gifts, others were thrifted, some are quality replicas of unaffordable items. I still struggle to make my rent every month and I have zero savings, but most people would not know that by looking at me. Poverty doesn’t have to be rags and begging outside the subway station. It can be the grad student eating nothing but mashed potatoes for a week. Ocasio-Cortez’s opponents are just looking for whatever they can to criticize her. -V
Seriously. All of my leggings and half of my dresses are Lularoe. They are all gifts from my mom, my step mom, my sister, and my dad.
doodles from tonight were a trip down memory lane
This summer, 2019:
“Do you believe in destiny…?”
That’s a lot of love
I love Roy Mustang as much as the next person, but every version of FMA hinges on him looking at a traumatized eleven year old amputee who just committed a class A felony and thinking ‘Let’s enlist him into the military immediately’
to be fair
he initially thought that Ed and Al were in thier 30s based on bad intel
he was gonna probably just report back and tell intel off for wasting his time if Ed and Al hadn’t. Done That.
seriously, Edward and Al managed to pull off one of THE GREATEST alchemical taboos with a shockingly low amount of consequences
Ed lost an arm and leg while Al lost his whole body, and Ed bonded the soul to a suit of armor with basically NOTHING
Roy’s options were essentially either put Ed in jail, put him into a state orphanage, or bring him into the organization where he can keep an eye on him and possibly get him the resources to fix the massive fuckup that happened (and prevent Ed from becoming a Shou Tucker or Kimblee style monster hopefully)
Basically Roy took one look at these kids and said “I’m your dad now,”
First and last chapter.
“To you, 2000 years frow now… You are free.”
😭
YEP. YEP.
We all have about 2 mins. to live. Breathing just resets the timer.
Not really. After two minutes, the brain starts to suffer. After 8 minutes, it’s dead.
So it's around 10 minutes that humans will die without air to breath in
I hate when men smirk and gloat and say shit like “Women are attracted to powerful men,” like that negates any feminist impulse, like they think that at the heart of all women is this little, mincing girl that wants to be dominated.
I just roll my eyes because, dude. If you ever read the second half of any fucking harlequin novel ever, and saw how the hero always ends up blubbering on his knees and saying shit like “I can’t live without you! You unman me!” you’d realize that being attracted to powerful men is just the first part of a two-step plan.
The second step is to completely fucking annihilate him.
Apparently this is the most important thing I’ll ever say.
*clears throat* Allow me to quote Jayne Ann Krentz: “In the romance novels … the woman always wins. With courage, intelligence, and gentleness she brings the most dangerous creature on earth, the human male, to his knees. More than that, she forces him to acknowledge her power as a woman.” (“Introduction” from Dangerous Men and Adventurous Women: Romance Writers on the Appeal of Romance.) The romance hero may start as a total alphahole, but by the end of the novel, as stated above, HE HAS TO CHANGE. He needs to become respectful and treat the heroine as an equal partner, otherwise it won’t work. This is why Elizabeth Bennet refuses Mr Darcy the first time but accepts him later. This is what so many people miss. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this post.
if people still keep talking about a character years and years later after the character’s story has been told, chances are that the character in question was a good character. Not good as in morally good but compelling and flawed and layered.
