Some pictures from a very relaxing night in the woods. Day 1 was blazing sunshine, but temperature dropped overnight and I woke up to thick fog. I really got lucky finding a perfectly campsite-sized flat area halfway down the hill, up above the river. I'm actually very familiar with the area, but somehow never found this spot before. Some new colours going online soon. For a while I've been working on getting all the combinations of my favourite colours of canvas and wool done for a while. This is the final stage of that quest! Brown, Olive, Tan, Chestnut and Navy canvas... Coupled with Dark Grey, Brown and Navy wool. It's not a lightweight back packing item at any stretch, but is ideal for car camping, using close to home or anywhere you have the ability to lug a lot of gear to! Custom PLCE side pockets for my Sabre 45. Not my work! These are the fantastic work of @ruggeddesignz I've taken them out a few times now and in my opinion they really transform the pack into a perfect day pack or summer camping bag. Elasticated mesh, so they disappear when not in use, and are surprisingly roomy when needed. In this picture I have my TBS and nalgene bottles stashed either side, plus my poncho for easy access / if needed. I just found this old picture on my harddrive and wanted to share it. It was early autumn and the weather forecast was 80-90% heavy rainfall, so on a spur if the moment I decided to get out there in it. After grabbing my stuff and rushing down there, desperate to get my shelter up before the rain started, I cracked a beer and fired up a cigar, waiting for the downpour. It never came. Not a drop. Still had a bloody good night though, enjoying the fire and some quality time alone in the woods.
