I haven't done one of these in a hot minute because I've been a hot mess💔but I've thrown myself back into writing and dragged myself out of stalemate I was in so I have something to share!
This is for a prompt and seeing as I'm unhinged and can't write anything remotely short, it's already like 1k words siigh
The snippet does have suggestive themes so beware!
This one is set in Falk's pov👀
It just felt right and I'm happy with the direction it's going in
Daylight broke through the curtains, breaking the illusion that nightfall would last forever.
That this shared night could be never-ending.
Gazing down upon the redheaded beauty that had invited him into her bed, Falk's heart was being pulled apart.
Cherise slumbered peacefully, her back against his chest, soft inhales and exhales of breath making her chest rise and fall.
Her hair was dishevelled, thanks to turning in her sleep and his hands.
The dream- the utter fantasy that had tormented him had materialized, transpired when the sky turned the inky shade of midnight.
It was the best thing to have overcome him in ages.
The last thing he recalls was being tangled up in the sheets, slivers of moonlight kissing their skin as he held her, noses resting as one as he whispered sweet nothings while she smiled.
One last soft and sleepy hum before he had succumbed to slumber.
The sun was a rather rude awakening, harsh and unforgiving, as he blinked away sleep.
Barely able to keep his eyes open, a disgruntled sound escaped his throat.
Truly, they should have closed the blinds.

(Cherise is subject to change because her eyes are supposed to be a little darker and she has freckles but I was admittedly lazy after trying to find the perfect grey and drawing faint freckles that didn't show up mind you, because I am NO artist)

I've mentioned "Why'd you chase the light" many times but I have yet to finish it so this is my chance to ramble!
I'm gonna take an excerpt from the other ask I answered about the premise

"This is a Rook centred angst fic where Cherise sees him in her dreams and it explores how she feels, how she sees Rook, how things are versus how they could have been
I think for Cherise, Rook is still a vital part of her, this is still her dad, she still misses him, she wonders what life would have been had he not died
Would she have been a detective? Would she be closer with her mother? Would she not have been so alone? Would she be happier if it were Rebecca instead of him? (That last one is something she can't help but feel bad for thinking, yet she still wonders anyway)"
Other then that tangent, I wanted to focus on Rook and how he would have been as a father and how he would have changed the way she grew up and the otherwise withdrawn Rebecca
Honestly I mean it when I say Rook is still an influence on Cherise's life, a major reason she became a detective even after having a bit of a rebel phase growing up, the reason she stayed in Wayhaven, why she wants to do better for her (his) people
Even if the truths that are revealed to her knock her off kilter, it strengthens her resolve to do what she think Rook may have approved of in a way, especially with the supernatural
And on a certain level, even as her own person she aspires to be more like her father then her mother, who knows why..! We may never know.. (She can't be like her mother.) (She is, don't tell her that, though-)

Here's a snippet:
It got blurry, after that.
Bits and pieces that she couldn't put together for the life of her.
An irksome puzzle that refused to be solved, mismatched and without a few pieces.
Those dreams bled away, replaced with fuzziness.
Not the soft and comforting kind. That sort of static and prickliness that lingered.
All she knew is that they would have been fools, hand in hand, with him wrapped around her pinky finger. Likely unable to say no, allowing her every whim.
While her mother stood firm, without a hint of budging.
Oddly, they would have been a perfect pair. Evenly matched, balancing the scale of parenthood.
Pestering her mother given every occasion, talking her ear off while she worked, running around when she took clothes off the line, wearing shoes on clean floors, making a fort made of pillows.
He would offer some slack, crack awful dad jokes and always lend a hand. Taught her the importance of family, that it was okay not to be okay. Back up her mother when it came to rules, bring her up instead of down.
Let her be just a kid. What she was meant to be.
Introduce her to the world of supernatural wonders and horrors alike, as she grew. Enforce days of normality spent together rather then pouring over the unnatural.
Kept her out of trouble, until inevitably she did something stupid.
Talked to her when she was grounded, instead of simply sending her off to her room.
They were like sun and moon, beams lighting your way until you stumbled and found your way in the dark.
Their love was timeless, against all odds. While he had passed away, she rotted right where he left her.
Full of decay and lost love, infecting everything within reach.
There was nothing she wouldn't have done to even have a sliver of it, motherly love. To get a rise out of the woman who held a stone front. Left to wonder what her dad would have been like, how he would have loved.
It's a little out of sorts and still in need of polishing but I'm proud of it for what it is
Truly it's an exploration of the relationship of Rook and Cherry, and the grief surrounding the Olsen family sigh
Plus I just wish there was more about him! Because after finding out there was more then met the eye about her father, you wouldn't have been able to keep Cherise away from the subject
With how much he's thought of in her day to day life or with how much he's mentioned/compared to her, that would translate him into her dreams every once in awhile I believe
While Rebecca took care of Cherise in the stability sense, Rook would have been there for her emotionally, and in this instance she only got one instead of the other when she needed both (home life was lacking, truly)
I think he would have been the one that loved her openly, shared all of his life, and would have been light-hearted (something both her and Rebecca need direly)
ROOK COME HOME. YOUR DAUGHTER NEEDS SAVING. (physically and emotionally)

I recently got back into Resident Evil and developed the fattest crush on none other then Leon S Kennedy
@specialistagentmasonsbitch inspired this idea while we were talking about Falk and Leon
It's basically AU Agent!Leon where instead of the DSO it's The Agency and it's a love triangle between you, Falk and Leon (I would say more why choose though)
I didn't really have the intention of sharing this because it is really self indulgent, but I know people love Falk and Leon so here goes nothing (if you can't share it with friends, who can you share it with)
Partially I thought this up because of how they contrast each other, Leon's more this golden boy heart of gold type and Falk is more standoffish about people that aren't his and on the verge of morally greyish side (even if they are an odd pair)
To not mince words, Leon's been all about saving people, and Falk gravitated more towards condemning them
And they have their individual charm that I feel like either works together or clashes LOL
(aka I like picturing them together because I'm in deep for both of them lalala)
So far it's about 1k and it's going in the direction I wanted :D

Flirting was harmless, Falk seemed to be a fan of it.
Leon… not so much.
They were acquainted, but far from friends, per se.
Much of their spent time together was because of me.
Brushing away that thought, I focused on those in front of me.
"Was there something I could do for you?"
"Many, many things.." Falk purred.
It made my cheeks burn even hotter, but I refused to shy away.
"Give it a rest, would you?" Leon intercepted, his tone stern.
How did he do it so well? Command a room with just his voice alone.
"Need you be so negative? One might think you didn't like me," The sarcasm was laid on thick for the latter part.
"This one does," Falk's attention turned back to me, as he stepped closer, like a predator advancing on prey. "And you don't mind, do you?"
A simple shake of my head sufficed. "You're rather harmless," I jested.
It was far from the truth, his hands could deal out plenty, but something in me told me he would never.
"See? How sweet of you to think.."
Only reason Leon is salty is because he likes you and Falk doesn't have a problem being forward about it 🗣️ Also my first fic trying first person in god knows how long so please be gentle with me

I've always wanted to explore a fic with Rook and this is my first even though it's 4k and only 2k has been edited😭 I think I originally started it 6-7 months ago (pun not intended)

Tear-filled laughter was shared, unfaltering smiles, wiping away each other's sorrow.
But sorrow was a stain, marring the hearts and souls it touched, the reminder of lost love. Not easily swept away, even at the hands of those it was for.
Even if streaked, it would soon return clearer once again. With a vengeance after the attempt of sending it away and the audacity to struggle out of it's reach, even though temporary.
He had long disappeared from their lives, but he was imprinted on them forever.
Cherise couldn't tell if she wanted to dream of him forever or to never see him here again.
The former and latter equaled in anguish.
Rook gave the impression of a soft father, falling for puppy eyes, coddling her to no end, outings for sweets, chases at the playground. Holding her while she blew out candles on a cake, spoiling her with presents, going just over the top.
The long lost child in her heart yearned for fun-filled weekends, to be picked up from school, have her hand held while walking across a street. Talking about everything and nothing.
To have him be the one that tended to her scrapes and bruises, picked her up when she fell, without fail. The man that couldn't wait to be a father.
That long locked away part of her wished for something more, in need of a gentle guiding hand.
Reassurance instead of Doubt.
The girl with ginger curls had grown up, left with only waves and a heavy heart.
Left in the dark on how it would never come, where she would be left pretending someone was.
Every crevice of her wept with despair, an emptiness only he could divide.
There are so many lines in this fic that are favorites of mine so choosing a section is always hard💔
There's always been this sort of longing for something more for Cherise, a connection she's never had the chance of having since her family fell apart before she could even retain any of it
I wanted that to be clear, because seeing as in canon Rook dies when your detective is about 2 (if I'm remembering a section of information right, could be older) that comes across in Cherry as she's growing up, there's this girl that feels entirely too alone so she acts out to get attention
Until she gets older and realizes it was kinda all for nothing, as it never got her anywhere, Rebecca never bothered to be more present, just handed out some punishment or left her with those who would take care of her
So in both Rook and Rebecca's absence, with little knowing him, this idealized version of him forms (pretty true to his character but she views him as perfect, whereas Rebecca is the failure)
It paints this picture of her grief, which might be a little selfish as it only consider hers and not her mother's in a sense and how she wished things were different for her sake (to be fair though, until book 1 it was all Rebecca's)
It might not be everyone's cup of tea because it is lengthy and descriptive to no end, but I love it

It's been 6 months since I thought up this (time cannot be real)
Jealousy, Jealousy is based off the beginning stage of Falk and Cherise's relationship and while I know there is a clear amount of trust he puts in her, he does not have any in other people!
Cue Ex!Bobby or AU!Nate (either or) and you have a situation where Falk's not feeling too hot (unless hot-headed counts)
The only line of dialogue it has thus far is: "That was a long time ago" Which are the words of Cherise trying to comfort him 😭 you can't sit there and tell me that when he's seething over something that he can be even remotely subtle about it
It's no secret that Falk would detest that Bobby calls her "Angel" or in the AU Nate still calls her "Ya rouhi" because that's now his meor'dal
In all honesty I think you reinspired this idea sometime ago and I just haven't expanded on it from here-
My idea surrounds them being in her apartment together and after an instance he's heard of or spied on himself, he needs some reassurance and comfort from his love🩷
Truly just an excuse for Falk to shit talk Cherise's ex('s) because he's messy and the past was the wrong company for her (his words not mine iykyk)
All jokes aside, as a person Falk knows who he is, and while he knows Cherise loves him, there's still a little self doubt there that only she can soothe (and that other people aggravate lol)
I think Falk comes off as argumentative but in this, it isn't so much a fight but more of a discussion
"I love you, not him" and "He's not here with me, you are"
Cherise has a temper herself, but isn't usually one to direct it to those she loves, she knows that Falk isn't cross with her, it's just with those that have the possibility to get between them
So in their space, they talk it out, lean on each other (and she kisses it better)
I'm guilty of just loving a jealous Falk, because a girl can only dream
Title was inspired by Olivia Rodrigo's song "Jealousy, Jealousy" I'm sure some people figured that out but for those who might not have!
In my head Chalk (mix of Falk and Cherry's name) are canon but in the AU that hasn't been built upon Nate is an ex
In this though, I think it will be Bobby because it just makes more sense, Falk's already encountered him (even unknowingly) and once he does know, he won't take a liking to this man that sort of intrudes on her life
Then the Falk vs Nate dynamic will be in the AU (which probably won't be written for sometime even though I have a vague outline)
I feel a little bad I haven't come up with more dialogue for this but this is where we are sigh
