Mars
I’m currently in Carolyn Elliott’s INFLUENCE class (it’s amazing) and I’ve decided to work with the planetary force of Mars, so I made a table of correspondences. I also just starting my offering of burning resins, but the fire alarm went off... Booh!

Gods -Â Mars (Roman), Ares (Greek), Mangala (Hindu) and Tyr (Norse). (Go here for a list of war deities.)
Priesthood - The Salii.
Day of the Week -Â Tuesday. Named after Tyr in Germanic languages, but after Mars in Roman languages. (Mardi in French, for example.)
Time of the year - March, named after Mars because many of his festivals were held in that month. March marked the Roman new year. The Sun-in-Aries period of 21 March to 21 April. [52 days after your birthday?]
Astrology - Mars (obviously), Aries and the 1st house. Before the outer planets were discovered Mars also ruled Scorpio.
The Tarot -Â XVI The Tower
Number - Nine. I learned this in yoga teacher training, but I also found a great source here. A quick Google search shows that it’s the general consensus. I also found some fascinating mathematical facts about the nine.
Element - Fire
Colors - Red.
Music - C and 67.8 BPM, and of course the march and martial music.

Chakras - My personal interpretation is that Mars rules the first chakra because of his aggression and origins as an agricultural god or god of the wild, but because of his association with male sexuality he also belongs to the second chakra, while the element of fire, the color red, the ram and his association with the will connect him to the third chakra. In essence, he belongs to our animal nature, as well as to the first step in becoming human: asserting our individuality. (And if a warrior is genuinely ready to sacrifice themselves to protect another, that’s a fourth chakra quality.)Â
Traditional offerings - a bull, or a bull, a pig and a ram (the Suovetaurilia) or the October Horse.
