Victor tried to keep himself from laughing again after listening to her excitement while describing the explosions. He awkwardly ran a hand through his hair as he regained his bearings. “That sounds nice, I delve in a much more… slow-burning field, I supposed.” He commented. “So I’d love to see some of those reactions up close.”

“What do you enjoy doing? See people tend to give me all sorts of looks when I tell them I’m focusing mostly on children’s medicine.” She stated with a small shrug. “Well, you’re in luck! I mean Fridays are kinda my play days in the lab. Not that playing around is anything anyone should do. It’s such a dangerous place, but you know what I mean. Science is also very fun.”

Victor chuckled at this, not having expected that sort of reaction. Normally people would just try and steer clear of him and his weird experiments, not ask him if they’d bothered him. “Oh, no. Not at all. You’ve never, um, stained anything of mine. But I’ve seen some of the reactions you get out if chemicals, it’s quite interesting.”

Hannah mentally, and as well physically, calmed down hearing him laugh. At least he wasn’t someone ready to get upset with her - and the mess she made from time to time. Grinning brightly she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. “Oh, I mean thank you! It’s nothing really, I could show you a few of the reactions sometime if you’d like! I mean some are pretty cool, huh? The bigger the explosion, and pinker they get the better.”

“Right, it is!” Gadget reached for the girl’s right hand and begun painting what she requested. “You’re ambidextrous! That’s cool. I would like to learn how to write and draw with my left hand, it sounds like it can be advantageous. That helps, doesn’t it? Taking down notes for everything, I mean.”, all said while she was focused on the hand that she was painting on. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Hannah!”

“It’s probably my favorite talent that I have. It helps a lot in the lab too. Sometimes I have a little habit of making a mess in the trail and error parts of things. So to have all sorts of hands that can take notes, and hold things - works wonders.” She beamed towards her watching the art she was placing on the back of her hand.

“A little lemon on your cheek coming right up! Left or right?”, Gadget asked as she prepared her small paint brush and yellow paint. “Oh and, in case I am right about us not meeting yet, hi! I’m Gadget.”

“Um, right!” She stated with a grin. “Right handed and everything. Though, I can use my left too honestly. I spent too much freetime I guess. That and writing down notes for everything my hand just kinda got tired so I taught myself the other.” She rambled on waving her hand to dismiss her thoughts before they took off. “Hannah, pleasure to meet you.”

The girl was familiar to him, Vic was sure he’d seen her around somewhere. Just not where, although he had to admit there weren’t a lot of options either, it’s not like he went out that much. When she turned around he realized he’d seen her in the labs before. His staring seemed to catch her attention because she was now facing his direction and Vic slightly panicked as he offered an awkward wave. “Hi. I think I know you from the labs.” He blurted.

Hannah couldn’t just look away when she turned around and locked eyes with him. Would that have been weird? or was it even more weird that she was staring back at him. Thankfully he spoke first and she grinned hearing him. “Oh.. Oh! Gosh, the labs. I am so sorry. I probably exploded something you or something. Did I stain anything? I can pay for the dry cleaning!”

“You and your dragon are ready to go, Danny!”, Gadget told the little boy whose face she just finished painting a dragon on. It was her idea to have a face & hand painting booth at the festival and have all the proceeds go to the children’s shelter that she is a volunteer at. With her hands now wiped clean, she approached the person that she assumed was waiting for her. “Hi! What can I do for you today?”

Hannah couldn’t show up to a festival and avoid the face paint. No matter her age it was something she always stopped by. Smiling as she watched the younger boy run off she looked back towards the artist herself. “Well, I was hoping for a little lemon on my cheek! Simple and cute.”

Hannah’s eyes went wide shaking her head. “Oh my goodness, no no. Don’t thank me! I mean we’re a team. All of us working to show what we’re made of. If anything just give a content nod.” Hannah laughed softly. “Of course, your help is greatly needed, trust me. My place .. needs a little TLC.” 

“You’re right. And don’t worry, sometimes I walk into my home and think ‘how did I let it get like this?’.” Elsa giggled. “So how long have you been in Costa Serena?”

“Well at least I’m not alone. Busy woman tend to sometimes let things get messy.” Scrunching her nose she laughed softly. “Just a few years , what about you?”

“You are definitely not the only one. People like you are the reason people like me have a career so I suppose I should be saying thank you. If everyone went around knowing how to make their homes look perfect on their own, what would I do?” She smiled. “You’re very sweet.”

“Oh yes, I’m sure I would have a great time trying to put together something just for you. Yellow and pink aren’t a bad combination so long as you know what you’re doing with it.” Elsa smiled. “Thank you so much, that means more than you can possibly imagine.”

Hannah perked up and thought about it and then let her face fall. “I really have no idea. I mean I put more work into my science than I do my home. I mean I give myself time and love and attention but not home decor.” She stated with a small laugh. “of course you’re welcome! That’s what we gotta do  - help each other.”

“Me? Oh, well I’m an interior designer. I own my own company: Chilling Designs by Elsa. It keeps my quite busy, especially since more and more people have begun to recommend me to their friends and family.” She smiled, her pale cheeks going red. “I suppose that means I’m doing something right.”

“Oh wow! Well, now I know who to go to when it comes to trying to do something different with my apartment!” She giggled. “Everything is pretty simple and plain. I’ve been meaning to do something other than pink and yellow accents around the place.” She rambled on thinking about it. “You’re doing great! I’ll be sure to let my friends and family know too! You’ll be rising to the tippy top in no time.”

Elsa smiled. “That would just add a bit more character, don’t you think? Show that you’re dedicated to both your writing and your research? That sounds like a wonderful plan to me.”

Hannah beamed towards her. “Well I’m going to be keeping that thought in the back of my head. I think you’re right about needed to speak out more about the females in the science field. Enough about me though, what do you do!”

“You should write a book or something encouraging younger girls to stick to their passion and not allow anyone keep them from fulfilling their dream.” Although she knew that it was a big task to write a book, Elsa was serious about what she’d said.

Hannah lit up. “Oh! That would be wonderful! I mean it would probably be messy and covered in who knows what from the lab turning in a final draft. Maybe when I come up with a few more discoveries I can write about them. And that can influence the younger woman to just keep going.”

“Well, we do all have our own little interests. I understand completely, although something tells me that my ‘accidents’ and yours aren’t nearly the same thing.” Elsa laughed. “It is very refreshing to see a young woman in the field, though.”

Hannah laughed. “Well you’re not wrong about that, well maybe. Unless you find yourself making little accidents in labs.” Grinning she nodded happily. “You and me both! It’s not easy , and it takes a bit of sass sometimes. But.. I’m making it.”

“Sorry, sorry.”, she immediately apologized once she realized what her words could have caused the other girl to do. “Let me help you with that!”

Hannah shrugged innocently. “Don’t be sorry. It happens, and oh! I mean I think I have this! I wouldn’t want it spilling on you. It stains horribly.” She grumbled looking over a few spots on her lab coat.

Elsa tilted her head. “Is that even possible? Well, I suppose it is. I was never very great at chemistry. I didn’t enjoy blowing things up the way the rest of the class seemed to. I always thought it was too dangerous.”

Hannah nodded rather quickly. “Oh, it’s extremely dangerous. So many just try and see if they can blow things up right off the bat, which is awful. I mean it happens to me - but  I promise I do what I can to stay on track.” She rambled on before laughing a bit.  “Chemistry is just kinda my thing, but accidents happen.”
