N.C.P. ⠀ ⠀ Installation + video for the London launch of Noomi Rapace’s brand @ncp_concept together with Selfridges and friends, including a special intimate performance from the magical @miguel. My intention behind the installation was to breathe life into Noomi’s potent poem which deeply resonated with me on a philosophical level. After almost a decade it was wonderful to reunite with My Beautiful City. The entire project is one made up of a series of synchronicities — crossing paths with like minded people which I’ve experienced an instant connection + creative chemistry with. Noomi is a rare creative spirit with a big heart + expansive energy. FLORENCE + THE MACHINE. It’s 10 years since the release of ‘Lungs’, the debut album from @florenceandthemachine — a masterpiece. I feel proud to have been part of this era. Florence was the very first music artist I was commissioned to create work for in 2009 + the long term collaboration has shaped my career as a Creative Director. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Florence is an extraordinary artist. I’ve always been drawn to the physical and visceral nature of her performance and how she embodies the duality of dark and light; the contrast of how she moves across the stage like a bird in flight, casting spells on the crowd — to the thunderous and reckless punk attitude that commands attention. My role was to emphasise and enhance Florence’s movements, an extension of the essence of her spirit + songs. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ This was my gateway into the music world — where the power of poetry meets performance. The experience still runs through my veins and continues to influence the space I now inhabit with my multi-disciplinary practice. ⠀ ⠀ The intention behind all my collaborative work with performers is about empowering the artist, to empower their audience. ECCA VANDAL. ⠀⠀ ⠀ I worked with powerhouse @eccavandal on the Creative Direction of her live show. Here she is ripping up the stage with her energetic + unapologetic performance at Brixton Academy — like a tornado, taking everyone along with her for the ride. ⠀ ⠀ Our paths first crossed last summer whilst backstage at the @queensofthestoneage festival in Finsbury Park in London. We instantly connected, but at that point I had zero idea that the gentle natured person in front of me was in fact an incredibly talented artist with such fire energy inside of her — a quiet power. This duality is something I’m continually exploring within my multidisciplinary practice + my current project, QUIET NOISE. ⠀ ⠀ I feel proud to call this human not only a collaborator but a good friend — magic inside and out. 36. Hello world. It’s been a while — 6 months to be exact. Today’s my Birthday. 36 years ago I was born on a full moon lunar eclipse, a light in the dark from the beginning. Today marks the start of a new year; a new chapter, a blank page. A few months ago I wrote a postcard to myself with three words: “do your dharma”. Then, the following day, my life changed, dramatically. To me, privacy is innate and built into my bones, so my inner workings are instinctually navigated and processed on the inside through quiet, stillness + self containment. However — I also have a deep rooted need to share with the world and connect with others.
