I guess Iâll start the story from the beginning. My version of the best love story, or so I thought.
I was a college drop out working minimum wage at a grocery store. My hair was what I called platinum blonde but looking back it moreso resembled stained teeth. I was angry, grieving, lost, stupid, and confused. I was glad to be back home, college was too uncomfortable, too much pretending. I realized Iâm not that smart and I am most definitely not a sorority girl. I had borrowed a coworkerâs name tag that day. Iâm a little less forgetful now, but not much. A lanky, thin boy with circular glasses and brown hair that looks like it was placed on said, âSo youâre Chris?â I actually donât remember if thatâs what he said. It was something like that. I donât remember exactly how I replied. I just remember thinking, why is this stranger talking to me? How can he just do that so easily? A few weeks went by of him asking to hang out and me saying maybe next time.
