Because the hermits are a fairly insular group, they do tend to pick up on each other's slang. Examples include:
Iskall catching himself right before saying "pants," due to teasing Mumbo about it a bit too frequently.
Zedaph, Impulse and Tango using each other's slang to poke fun until it gets to the point they do it unconsciously and it's just a mix of all three.
Cleo saying "Howdy," having a quick existential crisis, and then blaming Joe and going off to behead him again.
Grian actually saying "pants" and not even noticing until someone points it out.
Iskall originally picked up "Bumbo" from Keralis.
Cub once mentioning "super fast build mode," pausing a moment, and then just shrugging and going with it.
Xisuma calling Bdubs "Bubbles" every now and then.
Nobody's picked up any Aussie slang from Pearl yet, but it's really only a matter of time.
Joe almost adding "<3" to a sign.
Etho and Beef getting even more Canadian the longer they spend time together.
False saying "gorgeous" a lot more often.
Ren and Doc both say "man" quite a bit, and whenever they get together it gets increasingly more frequent because it's just a feedback loop.
Hypno sometimes curses in Slime. He has no idea what he's actually saying. He just picked it up from Jevin.
Everyone except for Gem and Pearl says "hels" instead of "hell". Gem asked about it once, and then they spent a solid hour trying to figure out who started that particular trend. They never did and eventually just gave up.
Gem and Pearl were saying "hels" by the end of the month. Neither actually noticed.
Yes!! Picking up language from friends is such a beautiful thing in my opinion, it makes so much sense that it would happen like this!
