My truth #mytruthforme is that we’re nawt gonna see Willmack doing the Grouse Grind, and not because their gatekeepy asses wouldn’t post a shirtless pic at the peak (they absolutely wouldn’t). It’s because Mack doesn’t stick to his usual schedule when he’s with Will. Instead of practicing twice a day, they get one morning session in and zoom outta there, Will driving, to hit up cafés and God knows which cutesy restaurant, bar or tourist attraction. They have a million places to go and things to experience together that don’t involve pushing themselves up a mountain Mack already climbs once a week.

RJ wants to talk puck with Will, Charlie wants to play tennis, Robyn wants to show Will how to make her classic blueberry muffin recipe, Rick…well Rick still wants their asses up that mountain, and Aiden is nowhere to be found. Matty just wants Will to pick up his phone. I think they’re far too caught up in each other’s orbit for Grouse Grind to be anywhere near the top of their itinerary. Unless Will wants to show off and beat Mikey Misa’s time ;) I could be proven so wrong immediately, but this is what I’m running with for now.

Hey, I got a bunch more asks about RJ Celebrini, but I'm not really looking to pursue this topic. I'm not interested in starting a debate about how good he is/if he's better than Macklin. He's only 13 years old. He's still developing as a person and as a player.

in honour of connor bedard extension I would like to point out that 3/6 of the photos on his insta dump are from him helping kids. most players post highlight photos of them in gear, or with teammates, which connor did, but literally half of his photos are about the community.

and that's just so on brand for everything I know about him? its all of the every shift clips where he's awkwardly ribbing at the kids because he wants to make convo but doesn't know how ("actress? like best looking actress?" like come ON). it's the way that he's mentioned giving his number to macklin celebrini and gavin mckenna to talk about 1oa stuff, and mack mentioned talking to connor about contract stuff during his exit interview (8:34 timestamp). it's the way that connor and fraser minten visited mavrik (a 3yo who had neuroblastoma) to cheer him up because his family said he loved nhl players. its the way that there's endless photos and videos of him stopping and signing things, even if he looks tired, especially for kids. that one vid where he's walking down the tunnel and all the kids in his jersey are reaching out for him? the way he was always playing around with fliggy's kids?

idk idk idk but what i'm saying is that i bet that when he was younger, someone told him that he should be grateful for what he has, and he really took it to heart. he doesn't take hockey for granted; he always wants to practice (read: that article where he was begging to get back on the ice after jaw surgery). his first words after he got drafted were "thank you, i love you" to his family. he's always trying to take up a mentorship position and share his knowledge. and he. loves. kids.

and I love that about him. I love that he likes being taken care of, and that in turn, he likes taking care of others. I love that he wants to have that responsibility, and that he takes it seriously. I love that he's on my team. its easy to be a blackhawks fan when he's there to support and I'm so glad we get him for 5 more years. he's gonna be captain one day, and this post is just a small shred of proof that he's gonna be really, really good at it. happy extension, connor, I'm proud to be your fan :D
