Hinata gives Gyutaro his own ringtone, so they know when it's him texting/calling to talk some shit at them. This is the FIRST STEP of developing a sincere crush. Once in a while... their texts look super normal. Asking about the studio or showtimes, pestering about other people in their circles. Then it's back to saccharine flirtation, responded to in kind with demeaning insults.
Ume DISLIKES Hinata. Mostly because she just doesn't trust them to have her brother's best interests at heart; personally, she doesn't kind that they don't take themself seriously. They're a fun punch-line, a silly jester, a pair of hands to carry her things. But no matter how much they suck-up to her or make her laugh, she's resolute against bad news like Them getting entangled with her favorite person in the world. They have to work wayyyy harder to prove themself in this life. Gyutaro insists to Ume that Hinata is hardly anything to concern herself over. He's got it all under control and they're a hot mess. They're just Like That, so he's not worried at all.
Hinata loves the grimier, grittier parts of a performance-- which sucks when they can't go all-out on stage due to their physical state. Being drenched in sweat from jumping around under the lights. Skin stinging from smoke and pyrotechnics. Throat, teeth, arms, and shoulders aching from the work. They love how tired Gyutaro is after he has had an intense time out there in the spotlight.
Gyutaro isn't used to being the one receiving such overly romantic attention. Still feels fake, like it's a joke going too far. But Hinata's favorite pastime is obviously flustering him, especially in ways he's likely not accustomed to. Thorny, sleazy guys like him don't get the special treatment: except with Hinata. He's speciallll. They tuck his hair behind his ear, perform sly love songs dedicated to him, leave stupidly adorable calling cards for him telling him what they liked about the set.
The few times Gyutaro isn't a total jerk to Hinata puts them on edge. It could be a ploy to walk all over them in the way he tends to use his fans. Perhaps he's just making fun for himself at their expense. So they steel themself for such a possibility... but can't resist taking the bait. They're a SUCKER, A LOSERRRR, a simpering edgelord who will JUMP at the chance to let him lean on them or let him bum a drag off their cigarette they're not supposed to smoke.
Gyutaro starts to perform harder and louder when Hinata is present-- in the crowd or backstage. Shame isn't an unfamiliar feeling, but this stage fright is hard to untangle from the rest of those feelings. Hinata's wide range of experience and heights of fame has him wondering how much of their fawning is sincere, whether they do see real potential in his work. Gotta see what the next calling card says... even if it's something weird like 'your body odor smells nice after a good show.' What does that mean?????? Why are they smelling him??
Hinata's more authentic romantic feelings have subtle tells. They call Gyutaro by his name more than with 'dear' or 'darling.' They do nice things for him unprovoked. If a jab he delivers hits below the belt, they break character and ask if something's wrong. They may even take the initiative first and share a vulnerability themself.
