𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫(s): RPG!Scry ( @screwzara) / Celtic Virelan ( My OC)
𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: Silence carries no blame tonight. Only the stubborn weight of staying close. The rot clings and the silence whispers. In that small, unyielding touch, something begins to hold. Something neither had thought to understand.
𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: OUGHHH They have been crawling around in my brain for so long,,,Such cursed souls,,they aren't so different now are they <3 I used this as an opportunity to show more of Enox too!! BLAH, ANYWAYSSS HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS!!!
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Mention/spoiler!!!— RPG!Scry missing tentacle, not much else really,,,I don't think so,,,,
𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: Differences
The campfire spat embers into the night like dying stars. The party had made camp in a shallow ravine; sheltered enough from wind, exposed enough that Celtic could keep watch on all approaches.
Zane and Sylvester argued quietly over watch rotations farther down the slope; Vince and Zion were already bedded down, exhausted from the day's journey. Enox's flame-mist coiled restlessly around Celtic's shoulders, a low hiss of thought brushing his mind: You're letting her poison the air again. Stubborn fool.
Celtic ignored him, as always.
Across the fire sat Scry. Her gelatinous form slumped against a boulder, tentacles loosely draped like spilled ink. One was noticeably shorter than the rest. The bandaged stump still faintly glowing green at the edges, the Rot's slow creep never quite stopped.
She hadn't spoken since they'd stopped. Hadn't needed to. The air around her carried that familiar sour-metallic tang, heavier tonight. Plants at the ravine's edge had begun to brown at the tips; even the fire seemed dimmer where her shadow fell.
Celtic watched her without blinking. His mask hid half his face, but the amber eye narrowed.
"You pushed it again," he said. No preamble. No softness. Just fact. Cold hard fact.
Scry's remaining tentacles twitched. One lifted lazily, as if to wave him off, then curled back. "And?"
"The Rot's spreading faster. I can smell it on the wind. The others are starting to cough."
Her form rippled— irritation, or pain, hard to tell with her. "Then move camp. Or leave me behind. Your call, Dreadstalker."
Enox flared brighter for a heartbeat. She's baiting you. Again.
Celtic stood. Slow. Deliberate. He crossed the firelight in three strides and stopped just outside the radius where her aura felt like breathing through wet ash. "I don't leave people behind.”
Scry laughed, a short, bitter sound that echoed strangely in her gelatinous throat. "Sentimental ass. You say that like it's noble. It's just stupid."
He didn't flinch. "You tore off another piece today. Infused it. I saw the glow before you hid it under the cloak. How much longer until there's nothing left to tear?"
Her tentacles stiffened. Glowed faintly green. "Until the aura stops killing everything around me. Until I fix what I broke." She met his gaze—or tried to; his masked eye gave nothing back. "You of all people should understand carrying something that poisons everyone you touch."
Enox's mist surged forward, brushing Celtic's cheek like a warning slap. Don't engage. She's deflecting.
Celtic crouched, bringing himself level with her. "Enox isn't a choice I made. This—" He gestured to the flame coiling tighter around his arm, "—was forced on me. On my bloodline. You choose this. Every time you cut yourself open, you choose."
Scry's form shuddered. A low, wet sound, almost a growl. "Choice? You think I want to rot? You think I enjoy watching the kids wince when I get too close? Grinmor thanked me yesterday for helping him stay stable, and I nearly laughed in his face because the Rot I gave him relief from is mine." Her voice cracked, tentacles flaring wide before snapping back. "I'm trying to undo it. That's the only choice that matters."
Celtic was quiet for a long moment. The fire popped. Somewhere distant, a night creature called.
"Then let me help," he said.
Scry stared. "...What?"
"You raid forbidden tomes. Experiment in secret. Risk permanent loss." His voice stayed even, but there was steel under it. "But you do it alone. That's inefficient. Dangerous. If the goal is negating your aura—"
"No." Tentacles lashed once, sharp. "You don't get to play leader here. This isn't your curse to fix."
"It's the party's problem," he countered. "Your aura weakens us. Slows healing. Makes every fight harder. If you fail—if you rot yourself to nothing—we lose an asset. We lose you."
Scry recoiled slightly, like the words had stung more than expected. "Asset. Right. That's all I am."
Celtic exhaled through his nose. "You know that's not what I meant."
Scry blinked—or whatever passed for it. Then, unexpectedly, a faint, crooked smile ghosted across her features. "Arguing with your ghost again?"
"He's loud tonight."
She huffed. Almost a laugh. "Lucky you. At least yours talks back."
Silence settled again, heavier but less hostile.
Celtic straightened. "Tomorrow we'll reach the old Skathran outpost. Restricted archives. If there's anything on divine decay—or Rot reversal—it's there. We go together. You, me...or whoever else is willing. No more solo experiments."
Scry studied him. Tentacles slowly relaxed. The green glow dimmed to a faint shimmer. "And if I say no?"
"Then I drag you," he said flatly. "Leader's privilege."
Another huff, this one closer to amusement. "You're insufferable."
"You're self-destructive."
"Fine." She pushed off the boulder, form rippling as she rose taller. "But if we find something and it backfires—"
"—we deal with it," Celtic finished. "Together."
Scry's shortest tentacle brushed his arm—deliberate, almost gentle. The contact burned faintly, Rot kissing flame, but neither pulled away.
Enox coiled tighter, sulking. This is going to end badly. You know this.
Celtic ignored him.
For the first time that night, the air around Scry felt... lighter. Not clean. Not fixed. But shared.
And that, for now, was enough.

Did I just witness an EXPANSION ON THE ROT LORE AND A SHIP I HADN'T EVEN THOUGHT OF????? IM IN LOVE OMG
GFKEHFJRJDBX KN DUTKZJKDXJJDJDJFJDJD I LOVE THIS SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭✨✨✨✨✨ ← actually 4 in the morning rn
No srsly tho, this is beautiful! She is deflecting the questions just as imagined :)))))) and like omfg I don't have time rn(need to study😭💔) but once I'm free you are not escaping my barage of fanart. 👁️👁️
Also that quote that sounds like RPG!Scry grumbling under her breath/groaning in her thoughts is BRILLIANT and I'm loving that enox of yours,,,,,, so silly, it's like having a tiny smarter idiot with you at all times <3
ANYWAYS so I'm gonna be brain blasting this for the next 9374948593884 years because I think I found a new ship I like 🫶🏼✨
"This here is my sister", he seemed cheerful as Aloka introduced his sister to Y/N. Taara rolled her eyes, "I can see the sarcasm.", the older twin snorted.
"Anyways, we have a few options to help you", Taara continued as Aloka glanced around the empty halls. They were the only ones there, thankfully.
It was a good thing this area was more desolate than Pneuz lovelife, Aloka's thoughts! Not Taara's.

Notes:
Ah yes,,,,, a timeline where Myn & Millin had biological kids. By accident. They don't mind though lol
They, unfortunately, got outed and had to come forward about their relationship 😔
Being the children of a Member and a Visitor, the rules have loopholes regarding them! Like being able to leave. However the Mansion is their home so they will always return to it
The twins are taller than Myn, still shorter than Millin though
Millin's uncharacteristically aggressive when the twins are in danger
Taara's hair glows in the dark like Myn's hair. Funnily enough, Aloka glows too. Like his entire body. Because he's covered in fur
"Soooo should I call you a beacon?—" "We will NOT. Talk about this."
They're a really crafty pair
Aloka will gladly rat you out if he has a good incentive for it so make sure you're on his good side <3

The colours are a bit different because I colour-picked Lin's ref for the main greenish colour
They've been in my head for the past 2 days
Anyways so to me there's like 2 timelines, one where shipkids are canon and one where shipkids don't exist :D
It doesn't look too obvious in the drawing but I did make Taara chubby :))))
They will not be added to the MM:SS AU cast. Mainly cuz the ship isn't canon there(sort of)
// I can smell the chaos and bloodshed already.. it's so exciting~! I know the blog is still on going but is it allowed to ask questions about this au already? Of course, we don't want any spoilers.. just basic questions
(I won't forgive anyone who accidentally reveals something they shouldn't) //
Sorry if it looks wonky, I need to draw it on traditional first since I can't for the life of me, sketch on digital.. and I can't draw hands that well.. ಥ‿ಥ
One cursed to live even after death, a Cursed Kin left without a shred of his past intact. He was brought to the Party by Xillith after she found him when she got separated from the Party for a while.
Facts about him:
He sees everything in inverted colours
There's less visibility in his left eye thanks to being the Rot-taken side of him
The Rot I speak of is the same one from the "RPG!Scry meets RPG!Star first" fic
Almost a completely blank slate, although bits of his personality show through when he's really comfortable
Physically 15 years old
Doesn't really need to eat, only does so to mimic RPG!Lin & Xillith
RPG!Scry is another comfort person for him since they both suffer from amnesia regarding their past
He's the reason RPG!Lin starts collaborating on making stories and tales again
Marcus' music is very soothing to him
The environment grows a little sickly around him since he's partially radiating death itself
The mist that RPG!Lin can summon is a very good sleeping aid for him, he falls asleep almost instantly when Lin's mist is active
It's also very easy to keep an eye over him when the mist is up because, as established in RPG!Lin's intro page, the mist is a way of seeing for him
So no danger shall befall the child >:D hopefully
Notes:
New OC to cope with my slowly deteriorating academics 💔
Anyways, @aesopsbaby here have a new kid to your AU :>
RPG!Lin is slowly increasing the amount of kids he has and i LOVE IT

I love this kid so much, now to inflict trauma to the entire party by nearly killing him and RPG!Lin/j
When choosing a class and race, I first thought about what the character would be guided by, but, to be honest, some of them turned out to be biased towards how I see them.
This time I made the outfits more detailed, as I think that with age our level of detail in characters increases significantly, especially since most housewardens are well-read people, so they have quite a lot of examples to follow.
Riddle was probably one of the easiest classes to choose. True to form and strict, he's the perfect paladin. Moreover, I think this class is good for beginners (and the Queen of Hearts certainly didn't have time to play such games), as it provides a foundation for both combat and roleplaying. Besides, he's clearly read the entire Player's Handbook from cover to cover, probably even the Master's Handbook. And if a game has rules, they have to be followed, right? But he still needs to relax a little, and then everything will be just wonderful.
Leona… I'll be honest, he gave me a lot of trouble. Because it's obvious to me that the most suitable class for him is a rogue. But for him, the choice would be easier—if he somehow manages to get sucked into it at all—he's a Leo, so his race is the same, and he chose his class practically at random. It's not because he's lazy or anything, I just don't think he's interested in that kind of thing. As noted, he doesn't really immerse himself in the character, but overall, he tries not to disrupt others' roleplaying with stupid questions.
Azul, my favorite octopus. He probably knew about the game from other club members, but he wouldn't have shown any interest until this wonderful moment—he simply prefers tactical games. I have a feeling he'd appreciate the changelings' ability to assume different forms, as it reminds him a bit of his mer-form camouflage. Plus, it's a great opportunity for deception. As for the Warlock, I think it's obvious he'll find a way to outsmart this nonexistent chthonic entity. If he's really interested in the game, he might even create a real-life copy of his character's contract, but that's a matter of luck.
Oh, Kalim would be all for this new pastime. And the bard class would knock his socks off. Music has many positive effects in real life, but when you can resurrect the dead by playing the drums? That's incredibly fun. And not only are halflings a great fit for this class (not a very important note for Kalim himself), but they also have a wonderful ability to reroll dice, which is very useful for someone who often makes mistakes. Overall, I'd say Kalim is a GM's dream as a player - active, involved in roleplaying and story, and brings in goodies - I'd give my soul for someone like that, honestly.
I don't know what forces would have made Vil join the game, but he would have definitely become a star. First off, I have a slight headcanon that he's very familiar with the game itself. Not at Idia's level, of course, but he acts like a fairly experienced player. Perhaps this was part of one of his movie roles? As for his choice of race, elves are graceful embodiments of eternal beauty; of course, he'd choose them, there's no doubt about that. And I think wizards with a thirst for knowledge would be a good fit for him—after all, such power is the result of hard work and study. I would also add that his character is probably the most developed of all, with a deep backstory and excellent presentation, as if he really is from a fairy tale.
Idia is an absolute expert on all things D&D. He's completed several campaigns, has his own collection of homebrew, and has a shelf full of miniatures. And he's EXCITED to be a player. He's a little nervous about playing in person, but that's overshadowed by his eagerness to share hundreds of interesting facts. And of course, such a person would choose the Artificer class. So many possibilities, so many ways to create interesting new artifacts and abuse mechanics. He'd choose a tiefling because of the interesting lore and their connection to the underworld. He also just thinks they're cool.
Malleus is absolutely thrilled with the whole situation. Firstly, he's been invited. Secondly, he'll be able to participate in a new and exciting pastime. He wants to give it his all and not break any traditions, so to be able to play the character more realistically, he chose something familiar. He's also very interested in the history of this fictional world and the magic within it. People are very creative in that regard, aren't they? Although he'll likely be a little disappointed by the spell restrictions.
Honestly, I'd say this roundtable is pure chaos, both in terms of balance and player relationships, but overall, they'll gradually find common ground. I wouldn't say it'll become a permanent feature, but it might happen occasionally.
I'm glad I was able to finish before the session started, otherwise I would have drowned in preparation.
🎵On a starless night, in the wishful woods, a group of adventurers rest their weary souls
Amidst joyful laughter and pints of mead, they are ready to write history together 🎵
MY FIRST FULL ILLUSTRATION IN A WHILE WOOHOO
The characters, from left to right are: Allegra, Vince, RPG!Scry, Marcus, RPG!Ink, Sylvester, Raloris, Celtic, Zane, Axel and, of course, Zion in the background :D
Allegra belongs to @honeysleepy
Vince, Sylvester, Celtic, Zane, Zion and the RPG!AU belong to @aesopsbaby
Scry and her RPG! version belong to @screwzara
Ink and her RPG! version belong to @boiling-potato
I don't want to disturb you or anything, I just wanted to check up on you, I hope you're doing well and that you're having a great week (and if not, I'll always be here if you need something!) ^ _ ^❤️
Also- a little question! What does Celtic, Vince, Zion, Zane and Sylvester think of RPG!Axel? What do they like or dislike about him?
And you don't need to answer now, take your time, okay!? Have a wonderful day/night, buddy!! Love you/p!!❤️
AAAAHHH HIII MEL❗️ Sorry this took so damn long to finish </3 I wasn't feeling all too well at the time but I finally got around to finishing all their responses YAHOOO
Zion design reveal gaspppp!! 😋😋
,,I JUST REALISED THE LAST PART OF YOUR QN NOOOO I must've skipped past it and I didn't really elaborate on it in their responses 💔 I'll do another one with just their general response if you'd like :DD
ALSOOO I really need to draw the other members too aaaaarrrghhrhrhh! Everyone's designs for their ocs and the LOREE is so yummy UGHH🫶🫶
Hiiii!!! I goottttaaaaa know more about scry 😽 she looks so cool and I see that her rpg design is different from your pinned post, and I was wondering if she's able to shapeshift possibly? 👀👀👀
Ah no, I actually changed her design which is why she looks different 🥀
The RPG!AU version needs an updated look 😔💔
But she does sort of have a shapeshifting ability in that she is in a way, literal jelly lol (We established that the only permanent and threatening damage she can receive is being burned by blood, everyone's blood is acidic to her)
AA I gotta research and absorb everyone's rpg ocs now cause everything sounds so interesting! And I also saw some of your writings for the lore and I'm just so interested and drawn to each and every story ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)
I love Marcus and Scry relationship it makes me so happy seeing them aaaaa 🥹🫶❤️
But I can't wait to see the new and updated look for Rpg scry!
