Summary: Jinseok decides to "hang out" with Do Hwan
The sun was warm on skin, but there was a gentle breeze that would waft through every now and then, to keep people cool. Today’s set was just as busy as any other, with staff members and crew spread out, various equipment in the way and the chatter on a high level.
Woo Do Hwan, the main lead in this series, probably should’ve taken this break to go find something to eat but for some reason, he felt a little too tired today to even think about food. So instead, he was lounging on one of the pool side chairs, enjoying the sunshine.
“Lee Jinseok!” you whisper shouted at the toddler that was now running away from you. Said toddler just giggled and ran faster and your heart dropped when he started to run close to the edge of the pool. Before anyone could yell or even reach for Jinseok, he had run straight to where Do Hwan was resting and climbed onto the chair with him.
“Hi buddy,” Do Hwan said to his new seat mate, like they were close friends. Jinseok waved his hand and giggled as Do Hwan maneuvered him into his lap, happy to have a new play mate.
“Jinseok-ah, leave samchon alone…” you called out when you stepped closer.
“It’s okay, he can hang out with me while I’m on my break,” Do Hwan reassured you, his arms instinctively tightened to make sure Jinseok didn’t fall off.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, go…shoo…” he shooed you away with the wave of his hand and a small smile. You stood and watched him for a moment before you relented and hesitantly walked away. A quick look at your watch showed that it was almost time for Jinseok to have his lunch, so you started walking back to where you had placed your stuff, which was past the food trucks that fans have sent to the set.
After retrieving Jinseok’s little bag, you made a stop at one of the trucks and ordered a snack size tteokbokki and water. When you returned to the poolside, Jinseok was still on Do Hwan’s lap, only this time it looked like he had fallen asleep.
“Did you get him to sleep?” you asked as you put down the snacks and bag on a nearby table before sitting yourself down on the floor next to the chair.
“Hmm? He was awake five minutes ago….” Do Hwan answered; he looked down and poked his fingers on the toddler’s cheek to check. The toddler laid still, and made no motion that he had heard any of the conversation or felt any of the poking.
“Hand him over to me and take a quick bite, you need to start the next scene soon,” you said motioning for Do Hwan to hand over Jinseok. The handover didn’t even wake Jinseok, and even when you started to stand up, Jinseok was still dead asleep.
“Thank you for looking after him for a little bit, now eat. I’ll go put him down to sleep somewhere,”
Summary: Chris finds you still in the studio working late at night.
Chris stretched in his seat, as his fingers busied themselves saving his work before he packed everything up in his bag. It was late at night, the company building at its most quiet hours where all the staff were long gone and Chris was surely the only one left.
He wanted to go home earlier but at one point during his working session, he found himself to be so focused and so intune with his work, that he knew if he stopped, he wouldn’t be able to get back into this mindset again.
“Well, that was very productive! Time to go home!” he thought to himself as he switched everything off and headed out the door. His footsteps echoed in the hallway, and it gave him chills so he quickened his step, ready to run if something jumped out from one of the many closed doors he was walking past.
Just as he was about to reach the elevators, he heard a noise, which at first wasn’t loud but with the silence that surrounded him, it was easy to pick up. Chris furrowed his eyebrows in concentration and followed the noise, towards one of the closed doors.
“Hello?” he called out as he reached for the handle, noticing that there was a sliver of light coming from the bottom gap of the door.
“I’m coming in!” Chris called out again before he fully pushed the door open. Inside, he saw someone working much like he was a few minutes ago, headphones in and very concentrated on their screens; and when he walked further into the room, he found that he knew who it was.
“Sunshine??” obviously he got no reply because you didn’t even know he was there. He walked up behind you and tapped gently on your shoulder, which made you jump at the sudden touch, and also made him jump at your reaction.
“Ohmygoodness Chris! Don’t do that!”
“I did call out to you…you have headphones on,” he replied as you took said headphones off so you could converse with him.
“Why are you still here? You should be home by now,” you asked him with a knowing look.
“Says someone who is also still here….” Chris replied back, his eyebrow raised at your absurdity.
“Okay, okay! But in my defense, I was just about to finish and pack up,”
“When? When the sun starts to rise?! Oh wait, you can’t see that from here…” Chris’ tone of voice sounded harsh but you knew it came from a good place and that he was also joking with you.
“Kid, your studio doesn’t have any windows either!”
“KID?? Who are you calling “kid”?! he questioned incredulously, with an almost offended facial expression.
“You. You’re my cute little Chrissy, Christmas tree…” you called him in the most cutest voice you can manage.
“Ew. Stop sounding gross,” he fake shivered, before you both laughed.
“Okay, how about this…we make a deal. Every time we see each other still in the studio at hours like this, we owe the other dinner,” you suggested with a smirk.
“Dinner you say…? I could do dinner,” Chris agreed and with a handshake, you made a mental note to always catch him first.
“Are you done though? Let’s go home, I’ll walk you to your car,” Chris told you and you nodded.
“Give me five to pack up,”
True to his word, Chris walked you back to your car in the garage and even followed behind you while you exited to go home. When you stepped into your apartment, your phone dinged with a message from Chris.

Requested by @bokkibunny and anon: (1) Hello! If you're willing, may I request a Pt. 4 for Lost Connection? Despite protests from the families of the missing, the search is called off. By this point, Leeteuk is numb. He cannot process the fact he, Y/N's family, and the rest of the families may never have the answers they need. Sometime after the search ends, though, he and the families of the missing are suddenly summoned to a meeting with officials. They are told that there has FINALLY been a breakthrough. Leeteuk is shocked to learn his connection to Y/N is responsible for it. It turns out that individuals from various Kpop fandoms banded together to conduct an online search for the plane. Every corner was scoured for clues. Their efforts led to the discovery that the plane, for reasons unknown, diverted from its flight path and flew in a completely different direction. | (2) Hi Fifi, I would like to request part 4 of the SuJu Leeteuk's Lost Connection imagine, please! The officers weren't successful in overturning the board, so they sadly have to release the information to the public that funds have been revoked and the search will be officially halted in three weeks. Everyone is distraught and things are extremely tense, especially because Jeongsoo has taken it upon himself to state that he will continue the search on his own once that stops. All the members and families are trying to reason with him but it’s futile, he’s dead set on this. On the eve of the search being officially called off, the officer informs Jeongsoo that someone matching the description of Y/N has been found alive in a hospital of a remote island not far from the place where the plane was supposed to have crashed. He drops everything to go there, despite the warnings of the officer that things are not looking good. He kind of dismisses the warning, as all that occupies his mind is the fact that Y/N is alive. However, upon his arrival, he is traumatised to see that, not only his girlfriend has suffered serious physical injuries, but she has lost her memory too.

A/n: i think this one is definitely on the longer side of the spectrum. i do hope you enjoy and thank you for giving some form of happiness in this expansion series. as always please refer to this reaction as well as the previous three parts of this expansion series (1, 2, 3). happy reading and please reblog or comment!
In the weeks after the search had been halted, Jeongsoo wasn’t entirely sure what to do with himself. Public opinion regarding the board’s decision had plummeted straight to the ground when the official statement had been released shortly after the journalists’ families had been informed. Protestors had taken to the streets calling for the searches to be started back up, for the government to take action and find something, anything, that would bring them some form of closure. Some sort of answer to ease their worries.
But nothing any of the families did changed a thing. The search was called off and they were left right where they started at the beginning of the whole thing. In some stone cold, dark cave.
That is until he and your family, as well as the countless other families of journalists he’d met along the way and found comfort in knowing they understood how he felt, were called to an unannounced meeting with the board of officials that had lost quite a bit of favor among the public. So there he sat among countless individuals, families, reports, photographers, officers, politicians, the whole nine yards, waiting for some press conference to start. He could already imagine what they would say.
“The search has been called off due to blah blah blah blah blah.”
It never changed and as far as he knew, it would never change.
“Good afternoon everybody,” the head of the board greeted, eyes flitting around the room from person to person, not quite holding anyone’s gaze. “I’m glad that everyone was able to make it to this important briefing regarding the disappearance of Flight XXX. In light of recent demand from a vast number of individuals. After receiving a vast number of petitions and monetary donations from the public - wishing to be named at this time as ELFs and ELFs associates, consisting of fans from various different idol groups and such, - the board made a decision a few weeks ago to resume the search for the flight and all persons aboard the plane at the time of its disappearance.”
The air in the room went cold as everyone heard the news for the first time. A few eyes flickered over to Jeongsoo’s seat at the mention of Super Junior’s fandom name. There was chatter that quickly died down as the head began speaking again.
“Apart from the petitions and donations, different individuals began conducting research of their own accord looking through publicly released documents and other sources finding major pieces of key evidence that were overlooked during the initial investigation conducted. Recently, this information was made known to us and will now be made known to you all. The following information needs to be heeded by all individuals who may have any information regarding the actions the flight crew took.
“As found by further investigation, that has been reviewed and confirmed as true by accredited individuals, Flight XXX departed from XXX International Airport with a total of 100 passengers and 5 crew members at XX:XX hours with a direct flight path to Incheon International Airport here in South Korea. Due to unknown reasons that are currently being investigated, Flight XXX deviated from its flight path and flew in the opposite direction it was intended to fly in.
The once semi quiet room broke into a roar as family members all rose to their feet yelling obscenities at the board members in front of them avoiding all eye contact. For weeks, weeks, they had kept them in the dark. For weeks, they had been led to believe that all hope was lost. For weeks, they had been mourning the loss of their loved ones only to find out this.
Ohhh, but it does not stop there.
“Just this morning, we received some intel that individuals matching the descriptions of all the missing journalists were located at a hospital on the remote island of Socotra, just 6,000 kilometers away from the edge of the search area deemed to have been the most likely area of the crash. No information regarding the crew has been found or heard and is still under investigation. Any persons with viable information are urged to contact the departments…”
Jeongsoo stopped listening as soon as he heard the first sentence of this final block of information. Someone matching your description been found? You were alive? His roaring thoughts drowned out the noise going around him. Without realizing it, he had risen to his feet and was heading in the opposite direction that most of the people around him were going in. While everyone was busy rushing at the stage demanding answers, he was busy trying to get out needing to breathe.
Why couldn’t he breathe?
Why was it so hard to breathe?
Once outside of the briefing room, he crouched to the ground, hand clutching the fabric of his t-shirt covering his chest. His chest was rising and falling quickly and heavily, the ability to breathe was growing harder and harder with every passing second. He couldn’t find anything to focus on until he felt a weight on his shoulder. Turning his head, he spotted the oldest of your brothers crouching down beside him.
“Focus on me,” he whispered, holding his gaze. “You need to match my breathing. In…and out…in…and out…”
Jeongsoo did as your brother instructed slowly but surely, regulating his breathing back to normal. Your brother’s hands now rested on both of his shoulders holding them firmly as he made sure he was calmed down.
“She’s alive,” he whispered looking at your brother. “(y/n)...she’s-she’s alive…”
Your brother nodded, tears forming in his eyes before he pulled him up to his feet. Disregarding any cameras that may be pointing in their direction, your brother pulled him into a tight hug, his shoulders begging to shake as he cried into your boyfriend’s shoulder. For so long he’d forced himself to be strong, but seeing him in such a vulnerable state without a care, made him vulnerable. He allowed himself to finally feel. And he finally realized why you had chosen him to spend your final weeks with before leaving…
~~~~
A Week Later…
“I'm going!” Jeongsoo shouted having had enough of the officer's continuous tactics to prevent him from leaving the country to see you. “I don’t care what war is being fought or how dangerous any damn country is, I’m going to see her. I need to see her.”
“We can’t-”
“Damnit! You have done nothing but keep things from us for weeks! And now that you finally told us something we needed to hear the moment you guys found out you aren’t letting us do squat!”
The officer in front of him didn’t say a word as he averted his gaze. Without a word, Jeongsoo walked past him and through the security checkpoint before heading to his gate, sitting and waiting in silence until his flight number was called. No one dared approach him.
~~~
“Have you arrived at the hospital yet?” your mother asked over the phone as he got out of the cab aftering paying the driver and getting his bag. “Have you seen her yet? Is she okay?”
“I just got here,” he replied. “There was a slight flight delay due some-”
“Please let her know I love her so much. That I can’t wait to-” her voice cracked followed by a low sob. “Call me to let me know she’s okay. Please.”
He nodded his head as he responded, “I will. I’ll call you guys later.”
Walking up the steps of the hospital, he made his way to the first nurse’s station he saw, nervously approaching the first person he saw in scrubs and struggling to get his question across. Upon showing them a picture of you, they seemed to realize what it was he wanted and motioned for him to follow as they led him to a more secluded wing of the hospital. The nurse’s hand went up as they entered a room, soft voices speaking before they came back and allowed him to enter.
He stepped foot into the room and his eyes immediately zeroed in on you. You were covered in bandages, clear signs of burns and scratches on your skin. There was a sickly tint to your skin that made him want to nurse you back to health himself. You were alive and clearly doing well given the signs of healing bruises and injuries, but there was something off about you. Something was wrong, but he couldn’t quite tell what.
“(y/n),” he sighed, moving to your side and freezing when saw you move away from him.
Whatever pain Jeongsoo swore he had been feeling for weeks was nothing. None of that pain of not knowing amounted to the pain of seeing you retreat away from him. And if simply seeing you react that way made his heart clench, your first words to him shattered his world entirely.
“Who-” you began, furrowing your eyebrows. “Who are you?”
Your eyes scanned the face of the man before you, not quite sure why something felt as off about him as it did. Yonghwa looked the same, he sounded the same, he was behaving somewhat similar to how he normally did. So why were you feeling so uncomfortable under his gaze at that very moment?
“If you’ve got something to say, say it,” he spat, crossing his arms and leaning back against the chair.
His tone sent shivers down your spine, in the worst way possible. Your eyebrows furrowed as you looked at him oddly. Not once, in the time that you knew him, had he ever spoken to you in this manner.
“Is it so wrong of me to be concerned about your odd behavior?”
“I can’t have a bad day?”
You didn’t respond, noticing an unfamiliar glint in his gaze that made your stomach churn. Something was definitely wrong. Yonghwa seemed to notice the sudden realization that came across your features.
“Well, I suppose there’s no reason to continue hiding it. I’m not Yonghwa. He’s dead.”
Your eyes widened at his words, beginning to rise from your seat, stopping as his hand gripped your wrist in an ironlike hold, preventing you from leaving.
You bolted out of bed, a cold sweat coating your entire body. Your chest rose and fell as you took deep breaths attempting to calm yourself, reminding yourself that what you had just experienced was simply a nightmare, nothing more. Jeha sat up beside you, hands resting on your shoulders as he spoke softly, none of his words being heard initially.
How could they when you were so far gone? When did this become a nightly occurrence?
“Match my breathing,” he whispered, finally being heard and causing you to breathe with him as he placed your hand on his bare chest. “There you go.”
You stayed silent, eyes dropping as the panic left your body replaced by tiredness. When was the last time you’d even been able to sleep for an entire night without waking after seeing a far too realistic death of Jeha in your dream?
“I can’t stop seeing-” you began voice cracking before your bodyguard turned lover pulled you tightly against his frame.
“I’m here. I’m fine. And I will be here with you,” he declared. “Nothing is going to change that.”
Requested by anon: Can I request one for Btob Changsub when gf overthinks a lot and start to feel unwell and keep a distant herself From him.. Thanks!🩵
Genre: angst (?) to fluff
Word Count: 711 words
A/n: where are my overthinkers at? 🤚
Changsub wasn’t sure what had transpired over the course of the week for you to become so distant and upset. Had he done or said something without meaning to that caused this gradual ocean to form between the two of you? Was he the root of whatever it was that was driving you away from him? Is he the problem that you have no answers for?
You were currently sitting on the opposite side of the couch not saying a word to him as you stared blankly at the dark screen of the television, blindly petting Guri who had seemed to pick up on your sudden change and had deemed it her job to comfort you with endless cuddles, something you wouldn’t even let him do. The air was tense, but in the way that it would be if there was some sort of sexual tension present or malice between two people, but tense in the way where two people who shared everything in the world had seemingly become strangers and neither knew why or what to even say to fix it.
His mind was racing trying to conjure up something to get things back to the way they were but nothing was coming to mind. Likewise, you were sitting on the couch overthinking about everything and nothing all at the same time.
Were you enough for Changsub? Were you doing enough for him? Was he happy? Were you holding him back? Was he purposefully turning down doing or going on shows because of you? Were you unknowingly ruining his career? Was he ever really-
“Did I do something?” Changsub finally asked, breaking you out of your thoughts, startling you. His voice was timid, unsure if you would even answer him. You two hadn’t talked at all throughout the week after all. “I want to know so I can fix it.”
He had to make the first move, or at least extend the offer of wanting to fix things because it was becoming clear that you weren’t going to with how lost in your thoughts you were at the very moment. And he was glad he did because he finally got to hear your soft voice direct something at him after a week of not hearing it.
“I don’t think you did,” even though you were unsure of what had caused all those thoughts to surface. He hadn’t said anything that would’ve triggered them. He never did. “I just…I think I’m spiraling over nothing.”
Changsub moved closer to you, facing you completely, “It’s not nothing if it’s making you worry or causing you to spiral down a rabbit hole.”
He was right, you knew he was right. And while it was hard to vocalize much of what you had been overthinking for the past week, it seemed Changsub didn’t need you to say or explain everything because he understood after hearing the first few things that slipped past your lips, quickly followed by hot tears as a weight you hadn’t realized you were carrying was lifted from your chest allowing you to actually breath for the first time in a while.
“I love you,” he whispered, cradling your face in his hands once you had calmed down, your breathing steadying after being a bit erratic. “And I don’t think I could ever not be happy with you by my side. You are my biggest inspiration to keep going on and continue doing different things as an artist. To venture out and try new things. You could never hold me back because you are always pushing me forward.”
Fresh tears slipped from your eyes as you sniffled, wiping your nose with your sleeve before laughing at a face he made as he continued talking, easing every single one of your thoughts and worries. “Thank you and I’m sorry for worrying you all week. I should’ve just mentioned it from the start.” He pulled you close to him, Guri’s paw hitting him, not liking him being too close to you at that very moment and forcing him to pull away. “You have nothing to be sorry for. It’s normal and understandable to find it difficult to share your thoughts. What’s not understandable is not being able to share my girlfriend with me, Guri.”
Summary: Woonggi finally gets to wear the shoes he wanted on Boys Planet.
It was a great day as all 28 trainees huddled together in the hall, not knowing that this would be the last game they would play together. Everyone was chatting away when suddenly, the lights dimmed which left everyone confused, and some trainees screaming. They all heard the door open with a flourish, and turned to see who it was (and some also swore they saw fog on the floor as that someone entered).
“Welcome to Boys Planet’s Catwalk Show! I’m Lee Hwanhee, your host!”
Everyone cheered and screamed as Hwanhee smiled at them.
“Hwanhee hyung, I missed you,” he heard someone shout at him and he had to laugh.
"I missed you too!"
“Now does anyone know what we’re doing today?” he asked and there were shouts of answers and some were close but not on point.
“Okay, okay, settle down... today we’re going to play a game, that involves a catwalk and shoes...” there was chatter in the air as everyone tried to figure out what the game was.
“One member of each team will have to wear a pair of these shoes...” Hwanhee started to explain the rules, as he held up a pair of high heels. Some of them groaned and others were in hysterics, except for Woonggi, who was jumping on the spot in excitement.
“Omg, omg, those shoes!!”
“You start at this end, and will have to walk to the other end, pick up the ball and bring it back here... but there’s a twist!”
“As if heels aren’t hard enough!” someone joked, and they all laughed.
“The twist is, you have to wear these glasses,” he pulled out a pair of glasses, which looked ordinary, but they had special lenses in them that made everything look like it would when you’re drunk. Hwanhee walked over to Haruto, who was reaching out for them.
“Oh my goodness, woah!” he laughed as he put them on and tried to walk forward, only to stumble around with everyone laughing at him. Haruto took the glasses off and handed them back.
“The fastest person to get the ball back wins a prize for their team! Now pick a member and please head over there to get your shoes,”
Some minutes later, there were five trainees standing in a row off to the side, ready to start the game.
Woonggi, Kuan Jui, Junhyeon, Seungeon and Tae Rae.
“Are you ready boys?” they all shook their heads, except for Woonggi of course, who was literally buzzing.
The boys, despite their embarrassment, did a quick walk, albeit being awkward on their feet.
“Thank you, you all look wonderful with the shoes. Now, Woonggi-ssi if you could please put on the glasses...”
Woonggi put the glasses on and immediately started to lose his footing, even though he was doing pretty well earlier.
“Woah, everything’s weird looking. I can see two of you guys!” he shouted, and everyone laughed at his antics.
“Woonggi-ssi, you need to walk down to this ball here, pick it up and walk back, okay?”
"O-KAY!” Woonggi took a step forward and already it looked like he was about to fall.
“Ahh!” he decided to walk quicker, to see if it would help and soon, he was already by the ball. He bent down to pick it up and the next thing he knew, he was on the floor to the roars of laughter.
“Woonggi-ssi, are you alright?”
“I’m okay!” he replied as he got himself back on his feet and grabbed the ball on his way up. He stood with the ball above his head in celebration for a few seconds, before he stumbled back. Everyone laughed and cheered him on as he got closer to the end line before he crossed it.
The other trainees did just about the same as he did, with all of them stumbling to the ball and losing their footing here and there.
“Let’s give it up to the boys for their amazing effort!”
“Now, time to announce the winner...”
“The winner, who got the ball back the quickest was......” everyone created a faux drumroll.
“Woonggi!”
Woonggi screamed but hid it behind his hands, as he jumped up and down. Hwanhee called him over and he walked to some random wolf whistling, which made everyone laugh even more.
“Here is your prize... a basket of snacks!” team Supercharger celebrated to the sounds of jealousy from the others.
“Don’t worry, all the trainees who participated won’t go empty handed. Because of their efforts, they will get to home with... the shoes that they’re wearing!”
“WHERE AM I GOING TO WEAR THIS TO?!” Junhyeon shouted in dismay.
>>>
A couple days later when Woonggi was slowly packing his stuff with his roommates, he heard someone enter the room. He turned around and saw a few of his hyungs there, with mischievous grins on their faces.
“Woonggi-yah....”
“What’s going on? You’re not going to prank me, are you??” he joked with a slightly awkward laugh.
“Of course not, why would we prank you...?” Junhyeon replied in a suspicious tone of voice, as he slung his arm around Woonggi’s shoulder. Seowon who was also in the room laughed at how suspicious their visitors were being.
“We actually have something for you...” Tae Rae told him, and he couldn’t hide his excitement.
“For me??” they nodded their heads and gave him a smile. On the count of three, they all pulled boxes from behind their backs.
“TADA!” Woonggi and Seowon looked at all the boxes in confusion.
“What is this??” Woonggi was genuinely confused but he was still laughing.
“We uh, we don’t really have any need for them, plus you seem to like them a lot so......” Seungeon explained as they one by one opened their boxes, revealing the shoes that they won in their last game.
“Oh my goodness... really? You’re going to give your shoes to me??” Woonggi asked in shock.
“Ahhh, thank you so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!” he jumped about and hugged each of them.
Summary: Just a sleepy Ollie and his hyung Hanbin.
Cross posted on AO3
After a long day of practicing, Ollie had made it to his room, and he was sitting on his bed trying to gather enough energy to find his pyjamas and wash up for the night. Keita walked into the room to grab something quick when he saw Ollie on his own, seemingly in a daze.
“Ollie-yah...” he reached his hand out to place it on Ollie’s shoulder. Ollie looked up at him with a small smile.
“Why don’t you wash up before you fall asleep like this?” Ollie hummed at him in response, and with the help of Keita, he got himself up on his feet and shuffled to the bathroom. The cool water woke him up a little, but it wasn’t enough to get him to do anything else other than dress and sit back on his bed. He sat with the towel over his head, and he started to drift off. He wasn’t sure how long he had been sitting there but eventually, he heard someone coming in...
The person had crouched in front of him as he felt their presence there and it didn’t seem like they would go away.
“Ollie-yah... is everything okay?” the person had asked him as they reached out and held his hand in theirs. From the voice alone, he felt like he could melt; it was his Hanbin hyung. He opened his eyes and stared at Hanbin.
“Was it a long day? Are you tired??” Hanbin whispered and he hummed a reply.
“Let me help you get ready for bed...” Hanbin said before he got up and knelt on the bed behind Ollie. He adjusted the towel in his hands and started to dry Ollie’s hair gently. It was another ten minutes later when Hanbin deemed Ollie’s hair as dry as he could get it with the towel, so he got up to fetch the hairdryer from the bathroom.
“It’s not good to sleep with wet hair, let me dry it with the dryer quickly, okay?” he whispered but Ollie never responded. Hanbin made quick work on using the hair dryer, then gave Ollie a back hug when he was finished.
“There, all done... time for bed Ollie-yah...” Ollie hummed and almost slumped sideways onto the bed. Hanbin helped the pliant Ollie get comfortable and laid the blanket over him.
“Sleep our Ollie Wonka, you did well today...” he whispered as he made sure that Ollie was asleep before he decided to leave the room.
On the way out, he bumped into Keita, who was on his way in to get ready for bed.
“Oh hyung, did you go to see Ollie? He was heading in the shower when I left him earlier,”
“Yeah... he’s asleep now though, poor kid was too tired to dry his hair...” Hanbin mused with a small smile.
“Well in that case, I'll try to be quiet... goodnight hyung,”
Summary: Hakyeon and Minhyuk meet for coffee and have a serious conversation.
Cross posted to AO3.
A/N: this is purely fiction... Take it with a grain of salt y'all.
Hakyeon walked down the quiet alleyway, with the sun beaming on him in force; but why did he feel like he was walking to his death sentence? Because he was meeting with Minhyuk, that’s why. Don’t get him wrong, he loved meeting up with his friends, and they always had him feeling better after a long day… Minhyuk though… Minhyuk could pinpoint his troubles without even trying. He also knew that there was a reason Minhyuk had asked to meet up for coffee.
The coffee shop slowly came into view and no matter how slow he was walking, the front door kept appearing faster. With a deep breath, he pushed the door open to the jingling of bells, in hopes that Minhyuk wasn’t there yet. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side today, as he noticed his friend sitting in the far corner, away from all the windows.
“Hey Minhyuk-ah...”
“Cha Hakyeon! I haven’t seen you in forever!” Minhyuk exclaimed as he pulled Hakyeon into a quick hug. Hakyeon wanted to apologise for being so busy, but he realised that being in the same industry as each other, Minhyuk would probably understand what his schedule is like.
“What would you like to drink? It’s my treat today,” Minhyuk asked him with a smile.
“You’re smiling a lot today,” Hakyeon mused as he too returned the smile.
“Aish... is it a crime to smile??”
“No, it’s not. But I don’t remember seeing you smile so much when it’s just us,” Minhyuk pondered in all seriousness for a moment, before he broke into a smile again and a small giggle left his lips.
“That’s because I missed you!” he said in his cute voice, his one finger reached out to boop Hakyeon on the nose. Hakyeon wriggled his nose in distaste and pretended to throw up at how cute Minhyuk was being.
“Are you going to be cute this entire time? Because if you are, I’m leaving...” he joked, ready to stand up and walk.
“Wait! Please don’t go, I’ll stop...” Minhyuk laughed and Hakyeon shook his head in disbelief. Minhyuk got up to make their order and by the time he got back, Hakyeon was on his phone, going through his calendar. Their drinks soon arrived, and their conversation turned serious.
“So... How’s everything going?” it was a general question; vague at best, but Hakyeon knew where this conversation was going.
“Everything’s going good,” his answer vague as well, his eyes more concentrated on his drink than his friend.
“Hakyeon-ah... how are you doing?” he paused at the question. When was the last time he asked himself that? Too long it seemed.
He looked up at Minhyuk and he was met with soft eyes. One that told him he was cornered either way he answered.
“You know, back then when I looked at you, I thought... ‘wahh, he’s so strong willed, and a leader too... I wonder if I can be as strong as him one day’. I still think you’re strong willed...but Hakyeon-ah... it’s okay to let go sometimes. Nobody expects you to be 100% all the time...” Hakyeon took a shaky breath and before he knew it, he was pouring his heart out to Minhyuk.
“Things were better when we were all together... my brain found it easier to keep track of them all. Even when we weren’t living in the dorm anymore, I could still keep up with their schedules and know where to find them if I needed them for anything... But ever since...” Hakyeon let the sentence die out, not sure what to say next. So much has happened since and he wasn’t certain that he could put them all in words that Minhyuk could understand.
Can he understand...?
“So many things have happened in the past few years, and I don’t even know where to begin. I want to still be there for them but it’s not the same anymore... I think we’ve drifted apart. Minhyuk-ah... what if I’m losing them?” a sad sigh left Minhyuk’s lips, he had never seen Hakyeon so down before, even when they were both starting out in the idol business.
“Have you tried talking to them? Or getting together for dinner?” Minhyuk suggested with a hint of hope in his voice.
“I’m scared that when we get together, things would be so tense and awkward... what if we sit for five minutes then we just want to, run??” Minhyuk could tell Hakyeon was teetering on the edge of crying and hearing his friend so distressed made him upset. He reached out to hold Hakyeon’s hand in his.
“Hakyeon-ah... you won’t know what’s going to happen if you don’t try it. You don’t even have to go out, just invite them over and be honest with them. They’ve been with you for so many years and they understand you more than anybody else, I’m sure they’ll be able to talk it out with you. They’re your brothers...” Hakyeon looked at him with unshed tears in his eyes.
“What did you do?”
“Well... Eunkwang brought us together, and we had a night just us, having an adult conversation about everything and we all had a chance to say how we felt. We made sure that the kids didn’t bottle things up...”
Silence befell them.
“But Hakyeon-ah... what we did might not be what’s best for you and your group. Why don’t you try and rely on them a bit more this time...?”
“Will you be there if I need you?” Hakyeon was still unsure about what he wanted to do next or if he was strong enough to figure it out. His mind and heart were on different pages, and he had a hard time trying to decipher any of the jumble going through.
“Of course I will, and Eunkwang will there be there too if I explain it to him... we’re all still here for you guys, just like all the years before,”
Characters: Seok Matthew, Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong & Say Yes! team
Summary: Matthew's body has enough and just need rest!
Cross posted to AO3
Maybe it was the pressure of being in an ace group or maybe it was the daily stress of being in a survival show... whatever it was, it was causing some strife in Matthew’s schedule. He first noticed his lethargic state a few days ago but chalked it up to the endless hours of practicing and trying to keep up with his new position. Since the night that he and Jiwoong made up, he put all his effort into making sure he had his position all memorized and that he was doing his best to not let the team down any more and he found that he had just enough energy to wash up before getting into bed and straight away falling asleep.
He woke up the next morning with a headache. Matthew had asked around and was soon taking painkillers to combat the throbbing that threatened to ruin his practice. When he was ready, he made his way to the practice room, his eyes blinking rapidly against the brightness of the lights. The room was filled with crew members and their various equipment, as he made sure to greet them before he walked over to Hanbin who was sitting on the other side of the room.
"Hyung...”
“Good morning Matthew!”
Matthew sat down beside Hanbin and laid his head on Hanbin’s shoulder, eyes almost drooping to a close.
“Are you tired Matthew-yah...??” Hanbin asked as he looked down at his friend.
“Hmm,” was all Matthew could muster up in his state. Soon enough, the other members walked in, and the room became loud with just their voices alone. Hanbin reeled them in and without question, led them in their morning stretches and started their practice all over again.
Everything was going okay, until their fifth hour of practice when the painkillers that Matthew took started to wear off. The bright lights pierced through his skull and the throbbing came back in full force, which made him double over in shock and a gasp left his lips.
“Matthew hyung... are you ok?” someone asked him. With a deep breath, he straightened himself up and gave a small smile.
“I’m okay, just trying to catch my breath,” he lied. The young ones bought his lie, but Hanbin –who was standing not that far off – could tell something was up, though he didn’t want to say anything in fear that he would hurt Matthew again with his words.
“Let me use the bathroom real quick then we can start again...” Matthew excused himself, as he walked out of the room and made his way over. He shuffled himself to the sink and stared at his reflection in the mirror.
He had dark shadows under his eyes, and he looked paler than he normally was. He tried to smile, to see if it made his appearance any better, but no such luck. Without another thought, Matthew turned on the tap and made quick work on washing himself up and doing his best to make his appearance as normal as possible.
Thankfully for him, he managed to ignore the headache and made it through the days' practice, ending the day in his bed hoping it would help.
Unluckily, he woke up in the morning with not just a headache, but also a dizziness that slowly settled in. He sat on his bed, as he waited for the dizziness to subside, and when he realized that it wouldn’t go away, he had no choice but to push through it and get about his day. After he washed up and got ready, he was about to make his way to practice when Hanbin and Jiwoong showed up to his room.
“Oh, hyung...”
“Matthew-yah, let’s go to practice together!” Hanbin had said as he hooked his arm with Matthews and Jiwoong wrapped his arm around Matthew’s shoulder, before they led him away. Matthew was glad to have his hyungs show up and fetch him because he knew that if he was to go on his own, he would either take hours to get there or not make it at all.
The day was pretty much the same as it was yesterday; morning stretches, followed by endless hours of practice. Except today, Matthew was plagued with the dizziness he woke up with, and the various twists and turns he had to do, didn’t make it any easier. Hanbin had called for a break and Matthew was ever thankful to be able to sit down and let his head rest from the constant movements of the dance.
“Here hyung... drink some water,” Seungeon said to him as he handed over a bottle of water.
“Thanks, Seungeon-ah...” Matthew opened the bottle and sipped slowly, eyes dropped to a close as he hoped the dizziness would subside soon. Hanbin’s voice pierced through his thoughts, and he was forced to get up and return to practice. He had thought about telling the group that he wasn’t well so that he could take the day off to rest, but he didn’t want to hold up the practice, let alone be another reason that he had to catch up with the rest of them.
Matthew stood up slowly and shuffled his way to the side counter to put his bottle down. He turned around and was about to shuffle back into position, when dark spots filled his vision. The noises in the room started to melt into each other and became a blur of white noise in his ears and even when the others were calling out to him, he couldn’t hear them and didn’t reply.
“Matthew-yah...” Hanbin called out, but he didn’t get a response. All he was doing was standing in his spot and staring off into space.
“Seok Matthew...” still nothing. Jiwoong, who was closer to Matthew than the rest of them, walked over to him and reached his hand out to touch him.
“Matthew??” his fingertips barely touched Matthew’s shoulder before Matthew himself succumbed to the dark spots and started to collapse.
“Matthew!” “Hyung!”
Jiwoong was quick to extend his arms out and catch Matthew before he fully collapsed onto the floor. He carefully lowered himself and Matthew onto the ground as he lightly shook the boy.
“Matthew-yah... wake up...”
His head throbbed and his body felt heavy. Matthew could hear voices, but they sounded far away, the only thing he had control over was his fingers. His fingers twitched, then the next thing he knew, someone was touching his legs and he felt it being lifted slightly.
“Matthew-yah... can you hear us? Please wake up,”
‘Was that Hanbin hyung?’ he tried to reply, but all that came out was a groan.
“It’s okay, take your time...” Matthew focused on the voice and did his best to come around. Slowly, the noises started to make sense, and the bright lights were coming back to bother him.
“H-hyung...” his voice was scratchy, but it was back to working nonetheless. He felt fingers running through his hair, and he couldn’t help but lean towards it.
“I think that’s enough practice for you... we should get you back to your bedroom,” Matthew opened his eyes slowly and blinked a few times to get his vision back. He looked around, and noticed that everyone was standing around him, all looking at him with concerned looks.
“P-practice...” he spoke out softly. Jiwoong shook his head in slight disbelief.
“No Matthew-yah.... no more practice until you’re better,”
“Want practice...”
“Aish, please don’t be stubborn and let your body rest. It’s clearly been through a lot,” Matthew blinked his eyes and resigned to his fate. They let him lay down for a little bit longer, before Hanbin spoke up.
“Matthew-yah... are you okay if we move you?”
“C-can’t move...”
“That’s okay, Jiwoong hyung will carry you,” slowly with the help of the others, Matthew was moved onto Jiwoong’s back and they were soon on their way back to the dorms.
“Woongie hyung...” Matthew whispered onto Jiwoong’s back.
“I’m sorry...”
“Shh.. We'll talk about this when you’re feeling better,” Matthew nodded his head minutely, before he closed his eyes again, as he let the lull of Jiwoong’s walk calm him down.
When they reached Matthew’s room, Jiwoong carefully laid Matthew down on his bed and covered him up with the blanket.
“Sleep Matthew-yah... hyung will be here when you wake,”
Summary: Both you and Taecyeon attend an award ceremony together and your nerves get to you.
It was an Award night, and you were currently in the van on the way to the event with your manager and your main co star – Taecyeon - and his manager. The both of you were filming a series together and as part of the PR for this series, they decided to have the two main leads arrive to some Award shows together and play on the fan service a little bit. This was in the hopes that fans would fall even more in love with your pairing and the series itself...
So, here you were, in the car.
Things would be going great, if it wasn’t for your nerves acting up and making you queasy. You had stared out your window, hoping that it would help, but as the car whizzed past the buildings, it made your condition worse. With a sigh, you opted to take deep breaths and closed your eyes, until you were close to the event hall.
Taecyeon, who was sitting in the seat next to you, looked over when he heard you sigh. Usually, when you were both together on set, the conversation was endless, but now with the car so quiet, he felt like something was not right.
“Hey, are you okay?” he whispered when he noticed your hand on your stomach and your eyes closed.
“Do you need some water?” he asked you again, when you didn’t answer him. You took another deep breath and squinted your eyes open.
“I just feel a little nauseous, must be the nerves...” you answered him with a little chuckle, so you didn’t worry him too much. Taecyeon reached down to grab the nearest bottle of water and opened it before he extended it to you.
“Here, sip some water, it might help,” you took the bottle and sipped on it slowly.
“Do you think you need medication? Manager-nim, can we stop by a pharmacy and get some anti-nausea pills?” which manager he was talking to didn’t matter, as long as one of them was listening.
“Are you okay Taecyeon-ssi?” your manager had asked as he looked at both of you through the rearview mirror, and before Taecyeon could answer, you spoke up.
“I’m just a little queasy but don’t worry, I'll be fine when we get there,” you didn’t want to cause any unnecessary changes to the plan or be late and you weren’t exactly lying either; you’re sure that by the time you arrived, and were situated, everything will be fine.
“Are you sure?? Or we can stop somewhere, and get some fresh air?” This time, it was Taecyeon’s manager.
“I’m sure...thank you anyways,”
“Well, at least drink some more water please?” Taecyeon asked nicely, his voice laced with concern. You nodded your head slightly and went back to sipping the water.
When the van came to a stop in front of the red carpet, Taecyeon turned to you again.
“Are you sure you’re okay? You don’t need any medication?” He was still concerned and was willing to go through this alone if he had to.
“I’m okay, really... let’s go,” you told him and gave him a small smile. He nodded minutely but still not convinced as he got out of the car. When both of you started walking down the red carpet, the cameras started flashing and blinding you, and the noise of the reporters and fans alike was deafening.
“Guys, here please! Pose for this camera!”
Both of you posed for the cameras before Taecyeon leaned down with a smile.
“Let me know if you feel any worse... I’ll find something to help,” you nodded with a small smile as the reporters and fans went wild again.
When you’ve stood long enough, posing, one of the staff members ushered you towards the entrance, as you made your way in.
“Taecyeon-ssi, thank you,” Taecyeon smiled and waved it off.
“It’s no problem. I’m sure the team would enjoy it if I had to bridal carry you out anyways...” he replied with a laugh.
“Hmm... let’s not do that... I’m not ready to face the wrath of some of your so-called fans...” both of you started laughing some more.
“Really though, thank you,”
“Aish, you say thank you one more time, I’ll get your manager to come back and get you...!” he shook his head in slight disbelief before he slowly walked away.
