âI...donât really know what those words mean.â
âCoffee is literally the only things in my life that is constant. That and Tony doing something stupid. Let me enjoy the first one without any trouble please.â
âOh...I hadnât realized that you wanted to be alone. Should I...leave?â
Interlude: Iâm Not Angry Anymore |Â Paramore

âAre you saying youâre a murderer than too?â
âWhat?! No! Of course not!!â
bonnie-experiment149-hekekia :
âWeâre pals? Really?â Bonnie asked with a small smile. There was really only one person she thought considered her a friend, and that was Tony. But Happy seemed super cool. âWell Iâm honored that you noticed my absence. Thankfully I wasnât gone long.â
âOf course! I mean we seem to get along pretty well, wouldnât you say so? Iâm pretty sure that means weâre pals.â The small male let out a chuckle as he nodded his head. âOh, honored such a big word for me not doin much at all, other than realizing you werenât around! But yeah, Iâm glad you werenât glad too long either....whereâd ya go, anyways?â

Jess reached out and gently rubbed Happyâs shoulder with a small smile. âSweetie, trust me. thatâs not the case. Like youâre afraid, so is he. Heâs afraid that after everything heâs done, youâll hate him and never want to speak to him, which is understandable. He didnât even need to tell me that for me to know.â She shook her head. âNo need to apologize. I seem to be more than just a nurse today. I guess Halloween means I get promoted to psychiatrist as well.â She giggled lightly. âLike I said, give each other some time and space so you can work on yourselves. I promise to try and help Hermes work on himself for you.â
Listening as Jess spoke, Happy nodded forcing a small, sad smile. âI guess...I guess that makes sense. I just...I donât know. Itâs kind of a messed up situation, isnât it?â He chuckled nervously, shaking his head. âWell, seems to me like whether youâre just being a nurse or being a psychiatrist youâre doinâ a very good job.â  Happy smiled.

I said leave but all I really want is you To stand outside my window throwing pebbles Screaming, âIâm in love with youâ Wait there in the pouring rain, coming back for more And donât you leave cause I know All I need is on the other side of the door

She nodded slowly. âHe loves you Happy. I know it might be hard to believe after everything heâs done, but Hermes really does love you. I donât think heâs used to being in love, but you know him better than I do. I think you two just need to take a break and focus on yourselves. Hermes needs to work on himself and fix some things and once heâs done that, maybe if you still want to, you two could try again. It wonât be as simple as that, but you know what I mean, right?â
Nodding as Jessica spoke, Happy tried his best to take in her words and make them make sense. âI...I guess you might be right. Iâm just...nervous. That I got too angry and now heâs not gonna want to even talk to me anymore.â He shrugged, slightly shocked at how much he was admitting. âI think I know what you mean. I...Iâm sorry I kinda just came in and started complaining about this. Itâs not very fair to you.â

Hermes couldnât even look at Happy as he left. He was afraid that if he did, he might tell Happy to come back, and that wouldnât help Happy in any way. Instead, he just stared at his own feet, waiting to hear the door close as a sign of Happy leaving. He managed to let out a quiet âBye,â but that was all.
Looking back up at Hermes one last time, Happy had to choke back even more tears. As he was leaving he realized a huge part of him would be left in that room. He also realized how much he wanted Hermes to try to stop him from leaving. As he placed his hand on the doorknob though, the only word he heard was a goodbye, and he knew it was over. Really over. Tears now once again freely falling, Happy opened the door, uttering the words âGoodbye, Mr. Hermes.â As he walked out, closing the door behind him.
jessicakrupnickreeves :
âHe cried a lot, to be honest. He has a lot of issues and Iâm sure youâre aware and I can only help him so much.â She nodded slowly. âAlright. We donât have to talk about it if you donât want. As far as your sore stomach, youâve just gotta lay down and relax for a bit. Is there anything else bothering you?â
âHe...cried?â Happy twisted his face, genuinely confused by the statement. âIs that all? Oh, great!â He tilted his head to the side before looking back at Jessica. âDid...did he say anything else about me?â
hermes-eons-just-nutty :
âIf you canât do this anymore and we canât fix it, then maybe we shouldnât be together, and you should leave.â Hermes would protect Happy from their own relationship if thatâs what he had to do.
Even though the words Hermes spoke broke his heart, Happy figured he had a point. âIf thatâs what you really want, then fine. Maybe we shouldnât.â He spoke, his voice still angry, though much quieter than before. A small part of him wanted to see what Hermes would say before he left, if he would say anything at all. So even though Happy turned to leave, he did it rather slowly, just waiting to see what might happen.
jessicakrupnickreeves :
âMainly just things that Hermes has told me.â She went quiet for a moment before looking at him again. âAre you alright? He was here earlier andâŚyeah.â
âH-Hermes was talking about me? What did he say?â Happy questioned, despite knowing he might not actually want to know the answer. âI um...I will be. Right now Iâm more focused on the sore feeling in my belly from all the candy."
 hermes-eons-just-nutty :
Hermes was not used to Happy being angry. He doubted anyone was really. He took a step back, not sure if he was afraid of Happy at the moment or if he just couldnât stand to see such a close view of Happy so upset. Everything Happy was saying felt like just another blow to the face. Actually, he would have much preferred being beat up again to this confrontation with Happy. He couldnât even snap back with any quick-witted phrases like he normally would. He felt numb, and he spoke softly and quietly, a sharp contrast to Happyâs angry shouting. âCan you really blame me, Happs? How could I not try to protect you? Ever since Nebula tried to drown you in the pool, protecting you is practically all I can think about, and donât try to tell me that it was your own fault. You werenât the only one they tried to drown, and if I hadnât gotten away from Hades and punched Nebula in the gut, you wouldâve died. I can admit that I took it too far when I pretended to be dead to Jessica. I figured that out not long after I did it, but I canât apologize for wanting to protect you.â
Hermes flinched when Happy cursed. He felt tears streaming down, but no sound came with it. He was truly ashamed in himself, and he hated himself for what he was invoking in Happy. He deserved whatever Happy might throw at him, either verbally or physically if he wanted to. âI thought ⌠I thought you wouldnât come back,â Hermes admitted for the first time, both to himself and to Happy. âYou were gone so long, for weeks without a word, and it was right after I took you on a real date. I didnât know where you went or if I had somehow done something wrong at that date or if you went off Antarctica like you had planned to before when we were first getting together. A part of me wondered if you had died somewhere in the world where no one would have thought to come and tell me, because how would they know. When I thought about that, no, I didnât care if I would have died because it would have been better than any day not spent with you near me.â Hermes shook his head and sighed. He knew he had no excuse to justify what he did with Georgette. When he had woken up in the bed with her, he had immediately raced to the bathroom and thrown up, though he wasnât sure if it had been from the hangover or just being disgusted with the situation. âIâm sorry, Happs. She just kept giving me so many drinks, and I wasnât thinking straight. I was lonely, and she was a distraction from it all. Maybe what I need to protect you from is actually me.â
Still sobbing for a few long moments, Happy was finally able to catch his breath. Just staring at Hermes for a few long moments one word played over in his head again and again. âHappsâ. Hermes was the only one who called him that. In all of his anger though, he narrowed his eyes. âDonât....donât call me that. Youâve lost that privilege.â He all but growled, once again feeling a deep pain in his chest, as if his heart was actually breaking. He wanted to forgive Hermes, he wanted to let it all go. But he couldnât. All of these things Hermes was doing behind his back was...too much. And he had let his anger completely take over. âWell, maybe it wouldnât have been such a bad thing to be left there! All of the friends I make leave, and I thought I would always have you but...I guess thatâs out the window now, isnât it?!â Happy began screaming again before he could stop himself. âI donât need a babysitter Hermes! I get what youâre trying to do but...stop! Whatever happens to me I probably deserve! Itâs not a secret...Iâm stupid! Iâm an idiot! If I get in a bad situation itâs my own damn fault.â He concluded, his face red with anger, tears beginning to stream down his face again.
âHow could you think I wouldnât come back?â Happy asked, his voice in a much more hushed tone than previously. âWhy would you think I would actually leave you? This is nothing like Antarctica! We...weâre actually together! And in love! At least...I was.â He looked down not wanting to think much more of that particular subject. âI want to believe you when you say that Hermes but right now...I just donât know if I can! You just...you ripped out my heart, stomped on it, squeezed all the love out of it and now itâs like youâre trying to put it back in my chest and...I just canât do that right now!â Happy began to raise his voice again, getting himself almost more worked up than before. âSorry doesnât take back the fact that you cheated on me, Hermes! Nothing is ever gonna change that or make that better! I want to hate you. I want to hate you so much! How the fuck could you do this to me? Even if I didnât come back...how could you have moved on that quickly?! Do you know how long it would take me? Months, maybe years! But Iâm not even gone for a month and youâre already sleeping with someone else! Not to mention everything else youâve done behind my back. I know you love to try to fix things, Hermes but I just...â Happy paused taking a moment to try to breathe as his breath was being swallowed by sobs. âI donât know if this is something that can be fixed! I canât do this. I canât sit here wondering if youâre gonna run off and nearly kill yourself or if as soon as I leave this room youâre gonna just run to Georgette for a good time. I canât do it anymore, Hermes. I just canât!â He finally concluded sobbing now so hard he was nearly hyperventilating, doing his best to hold on to the wall to keep himself from fainting.
sheldon-hai :
âYour guess is as good as mine, pal.â
âBut...youâve actually been to the dentist!â
Happy you are a true thug.
âIâŚI donât know if I want to be a thug.â
jessicakrupnickreeves :
âSo youâre Happy. Iâve heard quite a bit about you.â She smiled. âNothing bad, I promise. Harlan is a nice name. Unique. I like it.â
âWhat? Really? What kinda things have you heard?â He asked curiously. âThanks! Iâve always liked it, but Happy suits me better. Most of the time, anyways.â
