If there was anyone, aside from his parents or siblings that knew him best it was cousins. They had always been fairly close despite the distance between them in their childhoods. Elliot gave a lopsided smile as he nodded in agreement. ” I know, I was worried that I might never see any of you guys again. “ he confessed, his eyes already growing misty from the idea of never seeing his family ever again. “ A little while back, I think. “ Time was fairly odd here and made things hard to keep track of. “ Just you and Failynn, I thought I saw Alder too, but it was only for a second. “ he confessed, in other words, his siblings were nowhere in sight. 

Even though Posie absolutely hated the idea of being stuck here, she was glad that she could be here for Elliot. The thought of being without any sort of family was a terrifying one. A small yet sad smile eased its way onto her lips as she reached out to wrap her arm around Elliot’s shoulder in a supportive manner. “Alder is here too.” She confirmed, nodding her head. “I’m sure your siblings will show up soon too, more and more new people keep showing up it seems… it’s rather strange.” Though she didn’t want to make any promises that she couldn’t keep. “For the time being, you’re more than welcome to come to stay with Failynn, Alder, and I. We’ve got to watch each other’s backs.” The thought of her cousin living alone didn’t quite sit right with her.

Toby had been hanging about Town, in an attempt to find something fun to do. He had found the town that he was forced to call home, rather dull and uninteresting. He didn’t want to be stuck in one place, he wanted to see the world, make memories that would last him a lifetime. When he saw someone wave at him in an attempt to get his attention out of the corner of his eye he stopped. “ Sure, I might know a place or two… “ he began to respond. His heart thumped heavily in his chest, however, once he heard the woman’s voice. It was one that he recognized as clear as day. The same voice that had sung him to sleep at night, and told him that she loved him almost everyday. His mouth fell open, almost not believing his eyes. “ Mama? Is… is that really you? “ 

The reaction that was evident on the boy’s face made Rapunzel feel a bit uneasy, that feeling only growing the moment the boy spoke. Mama? Why were there people in this town that seemed to mistake her for their mother? She was far too young to be anyone’s mother, or so she thought. She blinked in surprise before letting out a nervous chuckle, “I, uh… think you might have mistaken me for someone else. This kind of keeps happening, it’s really weird actually.” She rambled, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “I don’t have any children, sorry.” She wet her lips and nervously shifted, trying her best to let the boy down as gently as she possibly could.

Frank nodded back in response. “’Pleasure.” Although his voice was deadpan as usual, he had the feeling that Kieran would know that he actually did find it nice to meet him. However when the other backtracked on what he said, Frank decided to drop the subject. He supposed he’d find out later if it came down to that. “Okay then.” He sat up in his chair, taking a deep breath. Usually he didn’t offer something like this, only really using it to try and stop his friends back home from doing stupid stuff. “Hopefully this’ll work then.” He muttered, more to himself than Kieran. He wasn’t sure he wanted to find out what the back-up plan Kieran had in mind was, plus he was curious if maybe it’d work this time. “So…focus on me.” He said softly. “And try to relax.”

If Kieran’s father heard the way this boy spoke, he surely would have gone on a lecturing tangent about how curtness does not equate to rudeness. It was a lecture he had heard himself about a dozen times in the past. He wet his lips and focused on what Frank had to say, genuinely curious if this all was going to work or not. All of his concentration was centered in on the other as he made himself as comfortable as he possibly cool, forcing himself to pretend to take in a deep breath. This was how he tricked himself into thinking he was relaxed, clearing his mind of anything else but what was happening at this very moment. Though that was a near-impossible task, the thoughts were already threatening to creep back in.

hope wonders if that’s true for some people. truthfully, she’s scared of being in her head too much. it can be dangerous territory; she’s scared of seeing something she doesn’t want to see, or something she can’t change. “ i’ll have to take your word for it, “ she says. as far as hope is concerned, she’ll stay rooted in reality for a little while longer. 

“ it’s nice to meet you too, arin, “ hope shakes his hand before letting go. she lifts her hand to move a stray piece of hair out of her face. she glances around the town, nodding in agreement. “ yeah, there’s definitely something strange with this place, “ she agrees. she can’t quite put a finger on it. she can sense the force all around her, but it’s as if it’s keeping a giant secret from her. a secret she’s determined to uncover. she turns back to arin and shrugs some. “ oh, here and there. i grew up on a planet called chandrilla, but i haven’t lived there in a while. i travel a lot. last place i bunkered down on was an outer rim planet called batuu. “ 

arin was a little glad that he wasn’t the only one who noticed how off this place seemed aside from the fact that they had all been sucked away from their home worlds and magically wound up here. there was something deeper and unsettling that he couldn’t quite place. though a look of surprise quickly formed on arin’s face as the girl mentioned her home planet and the planet that she had been living on before vanishing.

“ holy sithspit, no way. ” he exclaimed, beyond excited to find someone else from home. “ i’m from d’qar but the last place i settled down for a while was batuu too. ” it was a surprise that they hadn’t run into each other before. but after a few moments, a realization dawned upon him. “ wait, you said your name was hope… ” even though he only knew of hope solo, he was acquainted with her brother adrien both in this time and his own. “ who are your parents? if you don’t mind me asking? i promise i’m not trying to be creepy. ” he chuckled softly, hoping the last bit would reassure her as much as possible.

A smirk crept up onto Stella’s lips as she listened to her statement. “ And I’m glad I ran into someone who seems to agree, babe. “ she added with a laugh. As she stuck out her hand Stella didn’t waste any time taking it, feeling her heart flutter a bit in her chest. “ Lucky indeed, sugar. “ she added with a flirty laugh. She was already beginning to enjoy this journey so far. It certainly didn’t hurt that she had a gorgeous girl by her side either. “ So where exactly are we headed, you seem to know which direction you’re going in already. “ 

Willow was more than thankful that she had found someone who was actually excited and willing to do more adventurous things with her. She didn’t want to bother Frank any more after she had forced him into going to the dance with her and that had gone awry. She swung Stella’s hand in her own as they walked side by side, “I was thinking we could head to the waterfall to go for a swim in the reservoir and see where that takes us. We have the whole day to ourselves, we should make the most out of it. Who says we can’t go for a swim and then later tonight go to the club? I mean, that’s my idea of the perfect day.” She chuckled softly as she looked over at the other with a bright smile. “Do you think you’re brave enough to jump off one of the smaller rock cliffs with me?” She teased.

seeing some people get their parents back, morgan felt her heart ache even more for her own to show up. she had amazing friends here, and people that she loved, but she wanted to be able to just go to her mother and cry. morgan missed being able to talk to her mother about silly things – about being nervous whether her paper would be good enough or not. deciding that she needed to get some air, morgan left her house and went for a walk around town. there was still a chill in the air, after it snowed a couple of days ago. morgan still had a feeling that the fact that it snowed, had to have some kind of significance. something had to be luring in the shadows, just waiting to jump out and cause mayhem. wrapping her arms around her shoulders, morgan gently moved her hands up and down. morgan hadn’t been paying attention, so when she walked straight into someone else, she stumbled backwards a little but luckily managed to stay on her feet. “ jesus… hey! sorry about that, i seem to be in my own world lately… how are you? how are you coping with everything? ”

the past few days had been rougher than usual for the boy, forced to come to terms with a few things he had desperately tried to sweep underneath the rug while trapped indoors. haru should have been excited to have seen snow for the first time in his life, no matter how sizable the amount was. but there were zero traces of positive emotions within him. he was on his way to the cafe to grab some tea, admittedly also in a daze when someone suddenly collided into him. he stumbled a bit but was able to regain his composure to the best of his ability, blinking in surprise. a smile eased its way onto his lips as he met the girl’s gaze, lifting his shoulders in a shrug as if to say that it wasn’t a big deal. “ this town makes it almost impossible to focus on anything, doesn’t it? ” he chuckled softly, trying to lighten the mood a bit. “ i’m… ” he paused, realizing that no one had bothered to ask him how he was doing since he had arrived here. “ pretty shitty, but that hasn’t ever changed much. ” he explained with a dry laugh. “ what about you? what’s got you so in your head? ”

to say that cricket is confused is the understatement of the century. she has no idea where she is, and she feels and looks different. that is a complete shock. despite this, she finds herself getting up and getting ready to explore. her first thought is to look for a store and buy more clothes, shoes, makeup - the whole works. when she sets out down the main street of town, that’s exactly what she plans on doing. however, as she makes her way through the emporium, she can’t help but pick up a guitar. music always did bring her comfort in times to stress. after leaving the store, she finds a bench to sit and fumble around with the strings. after a while, she begins to get the hang of it and starts playing a classic tune - rainbow connection, of course. it was the first song she learned to play on banjo, and will probably always be engrained in her head. as she’s playing, she barely hears the person approach. however, once she notices, she stops playing and looks up from the guitar. “ hi! “ she says cheerfully. “ normally, i wouldn’t mind taking requests but i’m afraid i’m a bit out of sorts at the moment. “

as the days trapped in this town that had become her personal equivalent of hell dragged on, willow felt herself growing more and more restless. she hated the idea of being trapped in one place for such a long time, longing for some sense of excitement. sure, things could have been worse but she was still starting to go a little stir crazy. she was on a walk near main street in hopes to clear her mind when she heard a faint yet familiar tune that lured her closer toward the bench that the stranger was seated upon. a ghost of a smile appeared on her lips as she listened to the song that she had heard during her childhood. it definitely wasn’t her intent to startle the poor girl, but that seemed avoidable. she rubbed the back of her neck in a sheepish manner, “ hey, i’m sorry for sneaking up on you. ” her tone was genuine as she continued to look the other over. “ that was rainbow connection, wasn’t it? pretty rad song. kermit is like an icon. ” she chuckled, feeling a bit of elation from just being able to talk to a fellow musician. “ but totally don’t worry about it, dude. i wouldn’t expect anyone to be up for song requests when this town is like seriously draining. ” she shook her head slightly. “ you just get here? ”

“ wait… we should make a ship! ” nora exclaimed excitedly, as if she had been the first person to think of it. “ i mean… why hasn’t anyone done that already? ” she questioned and blinked, looking at the other with raised eyebrows as she sat with her back against the wall, while the sun warmed her skin perfectly. at least she could work on her tan a little bit while being stuck there. a sigh fell from her mouth as she closed her eyes and let the sun soak into her skin. “ people have probably thought about it already and debunked it, huh? ” nora replied quietly, before opening one eye and looking over at the other person who had joined her. 

a look of confusion was quick to flash across victoria’s features the moment the other mentioned the idea of making a ship. as practical as the idea might have seemed, she was already mentally picking it apart. “ i’ll give you one good reason why someone probably hasn’t made a ship yet: the effort. who wants to spend all day building a ship by hand? ” she wasn’t even sure how they would go about doing that. the biggest thing she had built in her lifetime was a paper mache volcano for the science fair. though there was honestly a part of her that felt bad for being so quick to shoot down the girl’s idea when she seemed so enthusiastic. “ i really doubt anyone has tried but if you want to be the ones to debunk it… maybe we could try? ” a ship would at least make for a cool hangout spot if it failed. “ would you even know how to build a ship? ”

“don’t you think you’ve had enough?” he asked, looking over at the other who had been drinking beside him. he hadn’t counted just how many drinks they consumed, but he had noted they had more than two. and, he knew that most humans didn’t take too kindly to too much alcohol. he was lucky enough to find that alcohol prepared by the fae was much more potent and he’d grown very accustomed to it. so, human drinks served only to give him a buzz at the most. “i would hate to see you make a mess in here, whether it be outwardly or just with your appearance and behavior. i’ll take you home if i must, or i will entertain you if it will distract you enough to stop,” he offered, feeling generous.

flynn had downed one fruity drink after another allowing himself to get a little bit too carried away. not only did these drinks taste good, but they seemed to numb something inside of them that he had desperately trying to ignore. sadness that permeated throughout his entire body. so when the man beside him spoke up, the lavender haired boy was quick to let out a scoff. “who made you the drink police?” his eyes narrowed slightly as he turned to look at the other with an unamused expression. he had never drank before so the alcohol was definitely affecting him greatly. “a mess? i’m not going to make a mess. i’m just fine.” he waved his hand in a dismissive manner. “i’m gonna have at least one more, these things are amazing. do you want a sip?” he gestured toward the strawberry daiquiri he was drinking. “although, i probably shouldn’t offer you any after you were trying to ruin my fun.”

open to anyone

s t e p p i n g out since the storm was something ebony was dying to do.  after being stuck in for so long, she had found herself scared to even step out. but, if she had to look at the same four walls a moment longer, she would literally start to go a little crazy. that was why she had made a decision to step out and do a little shopping on main street usa. even if today was nothing but doing a little bit of window shopping, she was happy to be stepping out. as she started her walk, looking at the stores door to door, she stopped trying to decide where she should go first. seeing so many people pass by, ebony decided to reach out, tapping someone on the shoulder. “do you have any recommendations?” she asked, pointing to the stores. “for shopping, that is.” 

despite the fact that kieran didn’t necessarily enjoy spending time outside his mansion, he felt this overwhelming need to get out more often since being stuck inside. he was wandering around main street, mostly people watching, when he felt a sensation. someone had touched him, it wasn’t something he was used to for multiple reasons. he turned his attention toward the girl who addressed him, confusion crossing his features before she elaborated on her question. “i’m afraid i’m not the best person to ask about this sort of thing,” he chuckled, shaking his head. “cromwell’s corner is fun, they have several different oddities in there that i enjoy. but, i’d also recommend checking out the bakery. lynette makes the best sweets.”

“i was just talking about that with jun – i’m not very good at gossiping either,” he said with a chuckle and a shake of his head. but, he did feel a bit better that benjamin appeared to genuinely enjoy his company. it was something that felt rare in this town. however, perhaps it was just the same at home but everyone there was forced to pretend to like him. it was a sobering thought that was quickly pushed aside. his grin was wide as he playfully let his shoulder nudge the other. “oh, so you two have had some history. then, you’re bound to ‘officially’ be together again. i love that for you,” he said with a dreamy sigh. he gave a shrug of his shoulders. “ah, no. i’m afraid i’m a bit of a handful and i would end up having a babysitter instead of an actual relationship.” he gave a light laugh, not wanting the subject to dampen the conversation. he reached over and poured himself a whiskey and coke before giving a slight cheers as he took a sip. “this is definitely going to keep us warm. or, make us think we’re warm.”

benjamin couldn’t help but chuckle at yin’s comment, shooting the boy a questioning look. “is gossiping a desired trait though? gossips never really make any genuine friends… or so i assume.” if watching gossip girl reruns with his mom had taught him one thing, it was that. he chuckled softly the moment yin nudged him with his shoulder, feeling a bit flustered all of sudden. “oh trust me, it’s a bit of rocky history so i wasn’t all too sure on that front for a while. but for the first time in a while, i’m confident in this.” he stated with a firm nod. a small scoff was quick to fall from benjamin’s lips as yin spoke so negatively about his own potential love life, “a babysitter? you’re definitely lowballing here.” he made a small ‘ tsking ’ noise with his tongue as he reached for an energy drink and some flavored rum. “you’re a really handsome and fun guy to be around, you just need to find someone who can match that energy.” he explained as he finished mixing his drink. “i’m all for thinking we’re warm, cheers dude.” he lifted his cup up to the other before taking a fairly decent sized drink.

chase definitely felt validated with his need to eat, though he wasn’t sure if it was out of emotional need or some just because he was hungry – it was probably both. he looked at the other with wide eyes, not expecting him to actually be a prince. “wow, you really are important. that is so cool. i am so sorry – should i be calling you highness or something?” he said quickly around the bite in his mouth. but he shook his head quickly. “no, no. that’s not silly at all. that’s the way it should be. i mean, no one can be happy if they’re forced to marry each other. i’m pretty lucky that i haven’t heard about something like that in the ocean. i guess that explains why so many humans are so mean to us,” he said, pursing his lips. “if you all aren’t happy, then how could you be nice to little fish like us? so, you haven’t found anyone you’ve fallen in love with yet?”

important, that was far from how nicholas viewed himself despite how he had been brought up and his given title. he was quick to shake his head and wave his hand in a dismissive manner, “oh god no, just nicholas is fine. i’ve never felt the need to use titles in informal settings.” those who insisted on such were typically just throwing their weight around. he was a bit thankful that the other was both able to reassure him and empathize with his troubles, lips pursing slightly. “did you say the ocean? is that where you’re from originally? i’ve always wanted to travel by sea but have never been granted the chance. i’ve been too busy learning how to take over from my father to live my own life it seems.” that was a realization upon his arrival in town that was more difficult to deal with than others. “i apologize that humans are mean to your kind though. are you a mermaid? or well… merman?” he had only heard stories about sailors coming into contact with the mythical sea dwellers, but he still believed in them nonetheless. “--or a literal fish?” he chuckled. “but no, love hasn’t ever been in the cards for me. not yet at least. there is this one girl that’s captured my attention since we’ve met here in town though.” there was a dreamy look in the prince’s eyes at the sheer mention of kennedy.

curran was glad he wasn’t the only one upset by the situation, though the other guy didn’t appear to be too bothered. “people like you – people with money and think they’re better than everyone else ‘cause they follow the rules,” he clarified. “i knew it. you do like a helpless man. that should be considered cruel, you know. men can’t put up a fight when they’re around and that’s just not fair,” he teased. but, his face scrunched at being called an over dramatic baby. he definitely did not agree with that statement. he looked at the shirt again, a bit determined now to prove that he was neither a baby nor dramatic. “fine. you want to see? i’ll look ridiculous for you just to prove a point,” he said as he slipped his shirt over his head and slipped on the button up. he secured the buttons and fully turned toward victoria. “see? now, doesn’t this look silly?”

even though he wasn’t too far off base with his assumption, victoria couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “you don’t even know anything about me, how do you know that i have money or follow the rules?” she felt the need to defend herself from his judgment whether or not she valued his opinion. “only insecure men feel the need to go out of their way and pick fights, is that what you’re admitting to right now?” she jabbed back, feeling proud of her quick-witted remark, a smirk playing on her lips. she was admittedly a bit surprised when he decided to give into her challenge, removing his shirt then and there instead of heading into a changing room. she blinked in surprise and tried her best not to stare, not accustomed to behavior like his. the moment he finished buttoning up the shirt, she couldn’t help but giggle at the sight. “i mean… it sort of does. but, i think you could pull it off. it’s just weird because you don’t carry yourself well.” she chuckled softly once more.

red nodded. “it is rather barbaric – no one deserves to be chained up to a wall for any amount of time. but, it was for running away. i kept doing it and the more i did, the longer i got to spend bound and put away. i suppose he thought it would eventually teach me the lesson i was missing, but i still don’t think it’s hit home,” he said with a chuckle. he wanted to make his past more lighthearted – there was no need for sorrow or pity, especially now. if he was going to move on from his past now that he was finally, truly free, he needed to let go of all the anger he held inside. “fortunately, now i’m here and i have nothing to worry about in that regard. but, i’m sorry about this whole thing – i don’t mean to make this all awkward.”

running away? that didn’t sit too well with victoria either, her frown deepening slightly. “that’s… awful.” it might have been a lame reply, but words were presently escaping her due to the overwhelming feeling of empathy that she was experiencing. even though this town might have seemed like a punishment to some, this was a haven for the boy. it made her put things into perspective -- this could all be worse. “though, i can’t lie and say i’m not glad you’re stuck here for the time being. no one should have to be subjected to that and maybe it’s karma hitting him after all these years for what he did to you.” she lifted her shoulders in a shrug. she was quick to shake her head in spite of his apology, “honestly, you have nothing to be sorry for. i’m the one who allowed my curiosity to take over and stuck my nose in your business.”
