SEMI-HIATUS

[I don’t have much of a muse for Looker. As much as I love him my muse is lacking. I may pop in here and there on occasion, but I really don’t have the drive to get on regularly. So until said otherwise, Looker is on semi-hiatus. So unless I feel like it or I am requested, I’m not gonna get on here. If you wanna find me, I’ll be on @shironandina and @ringsreachingout . If you said that this day wasn’t an enthusiastic experience for Naoto you’d be lying. Firstly she got hired to Interpol, a place she’d always wanted to be in ever since a little child aspiring to be a detective like her parents, and this change would be permanent. She’d have to say goodbye to her Johto apartment and dreams of living permanently in a region other than Kanto or Unova and simple tasks - and tracking Team Rocket as a hobby obsession of hers - but she was willing to trade it all for a more challenging and even dangerous job. This allowed her to interfere with other crime leagues close to the one who killed her parents and stop more insane plans like Team Galactic, Aqua and Magma had had.

Secondly, she was meeting a member she had looked up to for some time for his efficiency and professionalism today as a warm-up for case they shared the following year and the bluenette was ecstatic. Take deep breaths, and calm down. This is the only shot you get at impressing mr. Looker and stabilize what you got. She hadn’t assumed the pretty successful agent of Interpol to look this… old and like years of experience showed in him.

“I - it’s a pleasure to meet you, sir. Name’s Naoto Shirogane, you may know me as the daughter of Shirogane detectives.“ She kept a professional calmness and smile in herself the whole time.

New recruit day is always a delight. Well- unless the new recruit was arrogant and obnoxious. Such instances thankfully rare. New recruit day was especially exciting when Detective Inspector Looker himself had the chance to oversee these new recruits, being with the young inspired Interpol agents by far had to be one of his favorite parts of the job.

This particular recruit in particular looks promising. Yes, eyes full of enthusiasm. 

“Welcome to Interpol.” Looker smiles. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Yes, the name sounds familiar. “Yes, Ah believe the name rings a bell.”

“N’teligent?” Emma raised an eyebrow at this. She’s got street smarts for days, but?? “C’mon now, Mista Looka. Y’know I can barely read.” Course, it wasn’t lost on her that he was trying. She gave him a bit of a nudge–a gentle reward for his efforts (since otherwise they were pretty wasted on her). “ ‘Sides, I do all that stuff cause you see th’good in urrybody.” Which was to say that she would be way more cynical if she hadn’t met her–that was for damn certain.

“Book smarts is very different. Y’ can speak many more languages than th’ average person. If ya wanna read better, we can work on that. There are students in th’ classroom who can’t do anythin’ outside the classroom. Ah know you to be very reliable. Ah can count on ya.” His eyebrows arch up in concern. He knows how amazing Emma can be, only if she could too.

“100kr. I understand we are to search for and secure the hive of UB-01 at Ten Carat Hill.”

Behind her back, the young woman clasped her hands together. Within her measured tone was a note of anxiety, a hint of fear at what would soon await her. Only having recently been inducted into the International Police, and the UB Task Force, Agent 008 was not certain as to the success of this mission.

Months after her fall into this world, her memory still remained as clear as turbulent water. Every time a sound or smell or sight dredged something from the depths of her mind, its image would distort and shatter into pieces before she could catch a glimpse of it. 

“However-”

She may have knowledge on battling the Ultra Beasts, but why was an amnesiac like her sent into the field so quickly? Something didn’t quite add up.

“-I must question the logistics of containing this…infestation. At the moment, we have no idea as to the exact number of individuals residing within this one hive. And pokeballs cannot contain them. Yet Interpol has only sent the two of us.”

“Do you have some ace pokemon up your sleeve that I am not aware of?”

A weary agent follows behind the enthusiastic Anabel. The events of recent months prior still haunting him. 

She seems so willing... why is she sent out to such a duty? She’s just a young girl... This isn’t right. She shouldn’t be here.

“Just follown’ orders.” 100kr murmurs. “Part o’ the job... They UBs.” He sighs. “The UBs aren’t meant to be captured...”

Looker hasn’t had a promotion in years. He is okay with that, and so are the higher ups of Interpol. If Looker were to go up any higher, he would would no loner be a field agent and would be stuck at a desk. Nobody likes Looker when he’s stuck at a desk. Additionally, he doesn’t typically get along with the highest ranking Interpol officers.

[I just remembered that back when I first launched this blog, I would go into the inbox of every Red and tell them that their mom was hot. Not that any/every canon character portrayal has to accept and be connected to my headcanons, but it was just hella fun to do and see everyone’s reactions. Should I do that again?]

“…are you really certain the local variety of Team Rocket wouldn’t pull this lame of a stunt more than once? I’d still double check the false alarm place, or at least send my team member to do that work.” The young heiress was explaining to her work partner and superior of sorts about a trap clearly meant to work she had found at Route 13. Instead of trapping anyone it had miserably failed since her Alakazam had teleported right behind Naoto when stepping on the pile of leaves, surprising and giving a small heart attack at the same time.

Yes, she was referring to the team here but didn’t want to cause any useless ruckus if she could avoid that.

Natural of a young detective to be this cautious. If he weren’t as experienced with Team Rocket as he was, he would be under the same assumption. 

“Yes. They may be foolish, but not that foolish. Team Rocket can be quite lazy when it comes to setting up traps. Well- depends on who’s in charge of the operation. Well- I guess it depends on the grunts who can be quite lazy. Let’s just say Ah’ve had quite a bit of experience trackin’ them down. However, if ya want to play it safe, go ahead and check.”

[Hey guys I’m not dead! I’ve just been busy as hell and took a hiatus. I started off returning to one blog but I think I’m read to tackle all my blogs. If I haven’t been here in awhile, I’ve pry been on Cynthia more recently. Or my Steven sideblog. Anywho, gonna slowly tackle drafts. I’d queue ‘em buuut Tumblr’s eating those.

“You’ve had sex?”

Was the first thing that dropped out of her mouth instead of anything useful. After that though the woman at least managed to correct herself. Her initial facial expression also was adjusted to something more serious. 

“Sorry that’s not helpful. Here let me get a copy of that picture, and I’ll start seeing what I can do on my end.”

She offered making sure to not disclose any details on how she could get said information.

She quipped sliding her poke gear back into place. Honestly and truthfully she was about to round up all of her forces to find the kid if there had been a need for it. After all this was a kid, and Karen felt strongly when it acme to protecting children. Also Looker and her had been on good terms lately so it was best to keep that.

“She is adorable though, and running an agency at her age is impressive. How long did you train her for, or was she a natural?”

Karen asked admittedly finding it adorable that the gruff and tough cop was gushing over his daughter. 

“Well- she was an orphan takin’ care of herself on the streets of Kalos. Ah took her in when Ah was undercover. She worked for me and did really well, came to her naturally.” He shrugs.
