aladdin and jasmine + realizing they can finally be together

I just noticed a really strange detail about Aladdin (2019) and I can’t believe I didn’t see this until now.

So during the first half of the movie, before he wishes to be a prince, Aladdin’s hair is a bit on the longer side. It comes down almost to his shoulders and flicks off to the side as shown below.

After Aladdin wishes to become a prince, however, his hair changes and becomes much shorter. It also looks like it’s been gelled back (I personally like his Prince Ali hair better but that’s just me)

This is not the strange part though. It kind of makes sense that the Genie would change his hair into a more formal style than what it previously was.

The weird part is that even AFTER Jafar zaps Aladdin back into his old clothes, he still has the short, “Prince Ali” hairstyle as shown in the scene before he and Jasmine kiss at the end of the movie.

But do you see what I mean?? Why doesn’t his hair go back to the way it was before he wished to become a prince?? Was Jafar only able to bring back his clothes but not his old hairstyle? Did the Genie permanently change his hair?

I know that I’m making a big fuss over what is kind of a smalll detail but I’m actually kind of shocked that the film makers either didn’t notice this or didn’t think to change it!

Does anyone have any theories or ideas as to why this is? If so, please let me know!

Good question. I think its because the genie wanted to give him a makeover so Aladdin kept his new haircut. Same goes for Cinderella and her glass slipper,she was able to keep it too.

The new Aladdin made me tear up because I thought about all of the little Middle Eastern/Indian girls and boys will grow up with a movie of people who look like them. Both Aladdin and Jasmine are strong characters in their own right and it just makes me so happy to think about all the little girls who will go as Jasmine for Halloween this year and stand up and yell when silenced and all the boys who will do right and be courageous even when it’s not easy. Makes me want to roll around happily!

So I just saw the new Aladdin movie and

ITS SO FUCKING GOOD!

Aladdin was my favorite Disney movie as a really little kid and this live action movie did not disappoint. Will Smith was great and gave his own take on the Genie that was a just slightly different from the original but still in an amazing way. Aladdin was amazing and couldn’t have been portrayed better, Jasmine was phenomenal and I ADORE the twist they gave in this one for her ending with the Sultan and Aladdin. Jafar was hot as fuck but still an evil piece of shit who we were all glad to see get stuck in a lamp and ughh I loved this movie.

Good songs, good messages, great acting, phenomenal dance numbers, fucking beautiful.

Just saw Aladdin, can we just talk about Naomi Scott!?

Like girl was so on point! And her singing was awesome! I have “Speechless” on repeat! Song is a legit bop! I’ve never been a huge Aladdin fan but I really enjoyed this movie! And props to Will Smith for doing justice to Genie!!
