Today is my Mom’s 71st bday, so Happy Birthday to her. I haven’t really posted since last March and it’s been very hard for me since then. Just a few days after, my Grandmother passed unexpectedly and it literally broke my heart. She was the #1 person in my entire life and I still feel the pain of the hole she’s left in me. I miss her so much and still think of her every day. Losing her wrecked me emotionally and probably a little bit mentally too.
A lot has happened within the last 15 months. I had purchased a new car right before my last diary entry. A 2013 Kia Sorrento that has been very good to me, but I need to replace a burnt out headlight. Other than that, it has been very good to me.
I’ve been working a ton and saving towards buying a house and have saved just about 10k towards it. Im proud of myself for that, and have sacrificed a lot for that, but i haven’t found a house i really like that is in my budget. I have found a few that are not though lol.
In February, we had our 2nd “annual” mini cousins reunion in Carolina and I really enjoyed it. Some people weren’t able to make it from the previous year, and we had a new face or two that were friends of family, but it was a great weekend. Anytime I spend with my cousins down at the farm just energizes and invigorates me. It was the perfect trip to have right before my surgery on March 1st.
March 1st I had breast reduction surgery. The only regret I have about it is that I didn’t do is sooner in life. The surgeon told me that the left one was almost a J and the right was an F. I was shocked. I hadn’t realized that I’d gotten that big. Maybe I was just in denial. Recovery was much better than I anticipated. I followed all the rules to a “T”. The only real problems I had was coming off the anesthesia post op, and a bit of a fever after as well. The pain was tolerable, especially sticking to the medication regimen the Surgeon prescribed, and resting as much as I could. I slept in a recliner for over a month and was back to work in 3 weeks.
I feel so much better. The pain in my neck and back have improved significantly and I am able to do a lot more than I was before. I also feel better about how I look and am not as ashamed as I was before. I’m getting there.
I need to do a weigh-in and intend to do that within the next day or two.

i’ve lost 2 pounds so far this year and if i hadn’t sobotaged myself last week, i bet i could’ve been 3 or 4, maybe 5 pounds down. i’ve been very active, especially at work, but some bad things happened and i went to my go-to: binge eating.
i’d been really good about eating out less, but last week i did a horrible job. i can’t let that tank my esteem though, i gotta keep moving on and up!
