“If the enemy waits then he should be pressured, put into obedience and deceived; teaching the enemy, the threatener of life, that he is not worthy of the pleasure of living.”
Francesco Ferdinando Alfieri, La Bandiera (1638)

Everything Black (feat. Mike Taylor) - Unlike Pluto
3am and I can't sleep. Gotta be up in 3 and a half hours for an 16 hour shift. I have no idea what's going to be in store for me, what job I will be working, or who I will be working with. I have no idea when I will actually get to bed tonight, or how much sleep I will manage before my following 18 hour shift. I never know any of these things. Until the major schedule changes last week, I didn't even know what day I would be back from a trip, with gradual or sudden delays upwards to 20 hours (even a 45 hour delay I was lucky enough to miss) 4 months into a job and you usually know what you're doing and can wake up to a schedule with confidence, but next week I could be sent out with a crew of 30 people I've never met before doing the same work but with a whole set of new rules and trying to learn the quirks and habits and expectations of a whole new set of people. 4 months into a job and I'm still feeling the stresses of being a brand new employee and I'm exhausted. Just 2 more months. 4-6 more trips and I will be finished. I'm not sure if I will be back next year, but I don't know where else to go...

The thing about being LGBT+ is, at some point in your childhood, no matter how accepting your parents are, at some point, you have to question: “do they love me unconditionally?” And then you have to plan for the possibility hat the answer is no. And that fucks you up. Straight cis people never have to question that.
I wasn’t allowed to post about this before yesterday, but Brighton Pride allowed a group called L with the T - celebrating solidarity between cis lesbians and trans women - to lead the pride parade and show London Pride how it’s done.
So here’s some of my amazing friends doing just that.
That feeling when you watch Fellowship of the Ring and realize that the lotr soundtrack seeped into your bones sometime in your childhood and became a physical part of you
Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver except it’s playing from your neighbor’s radio that you can hear from your back porch, which you sit out on to relax in spite of the loud buzzing from the lightbulb and the hoards of moths that flock to it on summer evenings like this.
